    Old school coffee mugs!
    Bellea M.

Saturday mid-morning is a great time for breakfast, yes? After a disappointing moment while ordering at a different restaurant, we walked out and searched for another place to eat. R&R's Cafe (Rivera and Ruiz) popped up and just a few minutes drive away. It's a small place, clean and a handful of tables. We sat down and placed our order with our food server. Coffee first, followed by our breakfast plates, then a small shared order of French toast. Our food came quickly, hot and was well prepared. Portions were generous but a perfect amount, didn't feel like we overate. Coffee refills kept coming, never had to ask. Street parking available, no parking lot. You can order takeaway or eat in. Definitely a new breakfast spot for us!

This is the BLTA with the most amazing fries in the world

Great, friendly service. I got my usual... the BLTA and those AMAZING FRIES. This is definitely a tiny hole in the wall but so worth it after my regular hikes at Point Pinole. Don't let the exterior and light industrial neighborhood throw you off. It's great, I promise. No air conditioning though so I get it to go.

    Yum! Pancake special!

This is a fantastic place! The cafe is decorated very smartly. This establishment is super clean. I really can't say enough about how welcoming, kind, accommodating & efficient the staff/owners are. The food was delicious! I had 2 eggs over medium; bacon & hash browns, all were perfectly cooked! My husband had the pancake special. He really enjoyed his pancakes, fried eggs & bacon as well. We look forward to going back next week to share their spicy fries & their BLTA. We both left feeling so proud of the staff/owners of this well run restaurant that truly serves delicious food with kindness and a smile. Thank you R&R, I think means Ruiz & Rivera. If I remember correctly.

    BLT Sandwich & Spicy fries

R&R's Cafe is a great local family friendly restaurant to visit for a delicious breakfast. The staff were so sweet and attentive. The restaurant was clean and the restaurant was packed. I went with a friend and we ordered the French toast combo (golden brown French toast garnished with seasonal fruit and powdered sugar and two eggs and choice of bacon or sausage $20.59) and the BLT Sandwich (sourdough bread, chipotle aioli, bacon, lettuce, and tomato $15.60) and Spicy Fries (seasoned fries with chipotle aioli and chili flakes) to split and share. The food was delicious and seasoned well. Everything was served hot and quickly. I appreciated the thick cut bacon on the BLT and how crispy the fries were. I do wish the BLT had more bacon on it. The sandwich was still good nonetheless. My friend enjoyed their meal as well. This was my first time visiting R&R Cafe. I had been to the restaurant that was at the location previously. R&R Cafe was definitely a great place to visit and I will definitely be going back!

Great service. Great food. Warm and friendly. Had the churro French toast and it was pretty perfect. Not overly sweet but yummy. Empty plate to prove how good it was. I'll be back.

I ordered all side dishes and the food was pretty tasty. I love the their thick cut bacon, huge plus for me. Grits were smooth but had no flavor. Overall great experience.

The best spicy fries I've ever had! I would want that in my breakfast burrito honestly. Coffee is great and excellent breakfast. True gem in Richmond! Gotta check out! We will be back for sure!

Food was delicious! I had the French toast with two eggs and bacon! Sooo... good! My little had "I just want cake" meal which came with a fun pancake, fruit and sausage. Service was also great! Chef greeted us with a smile when we entered :) We felt very welcome! The waitress (wish I got her name) was very efficient and accommodating. From the moment we sat down to paying our bill the waitress was super nice and the smile never left her face :) Definitely recommend!

Finding it wasn't intuitive to me, but I assume the locals in the Marina area are familiar with the navigational challenges. I was planning to take a late afternoon walk around Marina Bay, so I decided to give this place a try for lunch since their menu was right up my alley. It consisted mostly of salads and sandwiches. They described themselves as 'artisan' because they use locally sourced ingredients to make some enticing creations like the fried buttermilk chicken sandwich and the artisan chopped salad. I went for the basic $15.25 BLAT (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato & Avocado) Sandwich served on toasted brioche bread slathered in chipotle mayo (Photo 7). It worked for me as I sat in their large dining area. I'd likely return now that I know how to get here. FOOD - 4 stars...solid sammie with fresh ingredients though the brioche was a bit overtoasted AMBIANCE - 4 stars...spacious when I was here SERVICE - 3.5 stars...cordial TOTAL - 4 stars...plenty of salads and sammies to try for lunch...worth noting they're open for dinner on Fridays RELATED - Exploring Richmond? I gave two stars because the lady making my sandwich was kind. This should be zero stars. I ate here because my husband was getting a colonoscopy the day before Thanksgiving so not only was I feeling worried about my husband, the food here just made my day more sad. Today's special was fried chicken wings, onion rings and fries. They might as well call this Wing Stop. The other special today was steak (more like hamburger patties) with rice and salad. Soup of the day was beef and rice. Did they hire the chef from the local prison? Are they trying to make people sick to get more customers for the hospital? Everything is basically cheap. Most sandwiches are 7 dollars and the salmon sandwich is 7.95. Specials are like 9.95 here. To try to be healthy, I asked for a gluten free Atlantic salmon wrapped in lettuce. What I got was a thin frozen salmon patty that tasted like it was processed to taste like ramen. They grilled this frozen fish patty for almost 10 minutes and while I waited for this icicle to melt, I looked for some veggies and the best thing I could find was a beet tomato salad for 5.50 My total for lunch was more than 14 dollars and I got a sour tasting beet tomato salad and a thin piece of processed salmon patty on a bunch of lettuces. The dining area was sad. No decorations, some tables were dirty, and a bunch of depressed looking employees and patient family members holding their cellphones waiting for news.

We started with the bread basket with compound butter, which was a great start. I ordered the Little Gem salad and the thick cut pork chop, while BB went with the salmon. Our server, Sheila, mentioned it was her first day as a waitress, and she did an amazing job -- attentive, kind, and confident throughout the experience. Unfortunately, the kitchen didn't quite match that same level during this visit. The pork chop was significantly undercooked and not safe to eat, so I wasn't able to finish it. The accompanying components -- including the polenta underneath and the warm mix of green beans, tomatoes, and arugula -- had good flavor, which made it a bit disappointing that the main protein missed the mark. Service overall was great, and I still appreciate the concept of giving culinary students a platform to showcase their skills. That said, proper cooking -- especially with pork -- is critical, and this is an area that needs attention. Overall, a mixed experience: strong service and a great concept, but the kitchen execution needs more consistency

We waited longer than we expected, but good thing they have many monitors so we watched the World Cup while waiting for our food. When the food came, they were an impressive sight. The burgers were loaded and dripping with grease. My son liked his Fat Boi, but I thought the Al Pastor in the Trompo was a bit bland. The Trompo was also so greasy that grease was running down my hand and forearm while I am eating it, and I can feel my arteries hardening already! The Highway Style fries were decent. A smash patty laid between two layers of fries and then topped with melted cheese. It was decadent but a guilty pleasure. The kids gave the place 7-7.5 out of 10 and they said they would come back.
