Chimichanga with rice beans & salad

This was my second time coming to this location. I know that it was cinco de mayo so of course I knew the restaurant was going to be packed and I expected an extensive wait time. Overall, the customer service was terrible and the food was terrible. We got on the waitlist and waited approximately 30-40 minutes for a table which was fine and to be expected. Upon being seated we got our menus right away and received our beverages. Upon putting our food orders in it took about 15 minutes to revive our food which was bad considering that it was cinco de mayo and the restaurant was packed. The quantity of the food is good for the price but the quality of the food is terrible. My friend ordered a steak and the first one was cooked so well to the point she could not cut it. When sending it back to the kitchen the waiter brought out another one and it was still raw. It is clear that the food is terrible the beans taste as if they were poured right out of the can. Overall the food was tasteless and I am surprised that this restaurant is still in business. After putting our margarita drink orders in they arrived to the table in a stirofoam cup meanwhile all the other tables had actual margarita glasses. The margaritas tasted like straight alcohol and crushed ice and could not even taste the mango or strawberry flavor. Our waiter was Luis and he rushed us with everything , our food order, drink order, and everything else that we asked for. Overall we received terrible customer service and a terrible experience. I do not recommend this location.

Yes, there's a Burritos Deluxe ($8.25) up under all that lettuce. Lettuce Deluxe is more like it!

Laredo is an Auburn institution, existing for somewhere between 2-3 decades. The old guard will remember its much cozier/tighter location a little down Opelika Road, closer to the mall. Their Tex-Mex grub is not a revelation but it's not bad and the prices are way reasonable. My standby is the burritos deluxe ($8.25), namely since you get a chicken and a beef burrito. Perfect for me who wants it all. The chicken can be a tad dry but the "gravy" and sour cream and cheese help remedy that issue. Frankly, I don't think you can go wrong with any entree that involves cheese in some manner. Speaking of, get the cheese dip for your table to accompany the complimentary chips and salsa. The service is fine. Most folks are pretty polite and attentive, though some lean aloof. Roomy parking lot.

Strawberry margarita and mango margarita really good with adequate amount of alcohol in order to get you a little buzz. Really laid-back and sociable environment. Social distancing implemented. Staff kept you up to date on wait time!

I am extremely pleased with our visit to Laredo. Fresh hot chips and amazing blended salsa (great for my family since they prefer the blended thin salsa versus the thick chunky salsa) were brought out to our table upon being sat. The salsa had tons of flavor, fresh cilantro, and it was perfect consistency for our taste. The cheese dip was the perfect thick creamy consistency that coated the chips amazingly. When you place your order, request the spicy/hot salsa. It is absolutely amazing. So spicy and absolutely perfect addition to anything on your plate. The meat served at Laredo is different but delicious, on the Texas Nachos the chicken was grilled fajita type chicken, however almost like it is cooked in some sauce, the steak was a great flavor and extremely tender, and the shrimp were fresh and had great flavor. The beans and rice are homemade, and the beans had great flavor and you can definitely tell they are homemade. Overall the service was amazing, the food was amazing, and we will definitely be back every time we go visit.

Service - above average, very friendly Food - pretty good for Mexican food in Auburn. I would highly recommend the chimichanga!! I had enough leftover for lunch the next day. Try the queso since there are unlimited chips for the table; you will not be disappointed. Drinks - I forgot which day we went but margaritas were half off so my drink was less than $5. Not watered down by any means which I appreciated.

How this place only has 3 stars is baffling. Best cheese dip, best margs and best Mexican food in Auburn. Monday fajita night is our go to!

Finally…read moregot the chance to try it, and I don't know if the built up anticipation caused me to expect more or the restaurant just didn't meet some minimum standards. The host who sat us was friendly enough. The restaurant is spacious with the expected Mexican decorations. Our table was not clean, and the host didn't notice. I asked the next person who came by to clean it, and she was happy to do it. It gave me hope that this was a minor issue, and we'd enjoy the rest. Unfortunately, it was the least of the issues. The server kept forgetting things we asked for and disappeared. We never got a refill on anything. He came back and apologized, but it seemed disingenuous. We were happy to leave, and unfortunately, we might not return - at least until we forget about this experience. Like: Quesadilla (flavorful steak, but one side did not have any on it); cheese dip (didn't get a refill on chips) Dislike: Hawaiian fajitas (great flavor; steak was tough with gristles); service (kept forgetting things, didn't refill anything, disappeared)

The menu was disappointing kind of big but it was a more Americanized version of Mexican food and I was looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant for dinner. The photos of the food are of more authentic dishes, but when you come in, read the descriptions on the items you realize that the owners have pretty much designed or reimagined all the dishes but for an more American target audience - not a bad thing for them but not the experience I wanted. I order the flautas (rolled tacos) 4 came with the order, guac & sour cream plus lettuce and tomato (I asked for them to leave that off I wasn't going to eat it anyway) no rice or beans I had to order that extra (‍) My son ordered a French fry appetizer My mom a chicken & steak plate. The chips & salsa were ok. Salsa lacked any real spice or flavor it tasted like tomato and oregano. I didn't have any. I ordered an horchata & it was fresh & delicious & the mug it came in was also pretty cool looking. My son really enjoyed his fried zero complaints there they had queso, chorizo & pico on them. My mom enjoyed her plate as well. My food was "ok" the meat in my flautas lacked seasoning & they were extremely greasy. The guacamole was tasteless & looked very unappealing so I didn't eat that, the rice & beans were very good delicious actually, the rice was probably my favorite part of my meal. Overall good definitely not terrible just not terribly authentic maybe somewhere in the middle.

I ordered the house marg (always a good barometer of a place), and they brought out a nice chalice and some chips and salsa while I looked over the menu. Chips were warm, salsa was spicy and cool - perfect temperatures! The dining room is mostly multi-top tables scattered in rows. Families, couples, and other groups were scattered around. There was a sports team of 9-12 year-old boys and their families eating at one long double table which was a bit rowdy, but not overly so for that age. Didn't really bother me, but I have lived through that age, and had kids that I'd take out as well. I've been to louder fast food joints on a late Spring Saturday night. The bar service person was friendly and answered my questions about different food combos. I eventually selected the birria tacos, and they came out in maybe five minutes, hot, and accompanied by a nice bowl of soup/sauce for dipping. I dove in and forgot to take pictures, it was so good. If you've not had birria before, it's a meat cooked in broth. Then the meat is placed in a partially cooked tostada, folded and grilled. Think a taco with warm ingredients, instead for cold items put into a cooked shell. You dip them in the liquid the meat was cooked in, kinda like an au jus sandwich. It's great! Birria is originally from Jalisco, MX, (home of ranchero music and tequila, so they know something!) and was made from goat, because the Spanish gave the peasants goats. Stewing made the tough meat better. But now it's usually beef. I'd definitely return if I were back in the area. I was here to celebrate a family birthday. It was a nice way to end a tiring day.
