I almost got fries, but I'm kind of glad I didn't because I would not have finished them. I only ate1/3 of my calzone and I was so full. We have been patrons for nearly 30 years and I have to say, this location has fallen to the bottom. Once in the last 5 times had service been decent. This last time we sat in a restaurant that had one other table and three servers. They were more concerned about chatting with each other and cleaning tables. After nearly 10 minutes with no server, we left. The first time in 30 years we have felt the need to get up and leave. My family has been eating at LaRosa's since before I was born. We love this Cincinnati staple, but have never been to this location before. Our server was slow to respond, slow to move and completely unable to understand any request. After the painful process of ordering (during which she refused to speak with anyone at the table but me) we settled in for our food. My iced tea was in reality slightly brown ice water. This was disappointing, but considering how many times I had to try to explain "unsweetened" I just accepted it. Our pizzas, however, were dry and difficult to accept. There was barely any sauce on any of our four pizzas. We brought this to the attention of our server, who refused to look at the dry, sauceless piece I was showing her. "I think they put on too much sauce" she replied before shambling off. I brought the issue up to another server. She also refused to look. She pointed vaguely at our table and said "There's sauce". Then she walked away. We paid for our meal and left. Regretfully, we took our many leftovers with us. No one wanted those leftovers, though, and they ended up in the trash two days later. When we got home we cooked up a frozen pizza. It was pretty tasty, but that's a different review. read more

This place is great!! I don't typically leave reviews, but I had to in this case. The manager billy is great! He remembered my friend was gluten free and put the croutons on the side of the salad as he thought we may have forgotten to say no croutons (which we did!). Also our server Kelly was GREAT! I am a big LaRosa's fan. It's a Cincinnati institution and a must-try. There are a lot of tasty items, ranging from salads (JoJo's BLT is great - that Creamy Garlic dressing is delicious) to pasta, hoagies, and, of course, pizza and calzones. The calzones with their three-cheese blend are extremely flavorful and filling, particularly delicious with a bit of pizza sauce on the side. Like most other Cincinnati favorites, LaRosa's has a little twist on the typical. The pizza sauce has a touch of sweetness. It's delicious and rich with tomato flavor, but it can surprise people who are not familiar with that extra taste. The most exciting new addition to the menu is the gluten-free crust, offered at several locations, including this Mason one! The crust is tender and flavorful, and it holds up well to the fabulous sauce and toppings. The gluten-free toppings are clearly labeled on the menu, and, for the first time in my experience, we were not charged extra for ordering a gluten free pizza! A definite winner. read more

We went on a weeknight and they were not very busy. We ordered 3 calzones, fried cheese appetizer and a spaghetti dinner with butter and cheese only (for the kids to share). The spaghetti was inedible. It was swimming in butter and disgusting. The calzones were just okay. We have lived in Mason over 20 years and used to go to and order from LaRosa's all the time. I'd say he was rather rude and abrupt & really only cared about what a resolution would cost him. The Asst. GM was willing to find a resolution -- then, apparently the GM got wind and put the kabosh on it and wouldn't honor what the Asst. GM initially offered to resolve. I will spend my $ elsewhere. I'm giving a 5 star review specifically because of our waitress, Tiffani! We are a family of 4 from out of town. Our son is one and our daughter is 6. During our visit our son was fussy, tired, hungry and cranky. Our daughter was getting antsy and still hyped on yesterday's kings island vibes. Tiffani was an absolute sweetheart and a God send! She could see my husband and I were sunburnt and exhausted. As my son threw food, toys and his sippy cup on the floor, and kept screaming and my daughter spilled her drink all down herself, Tiffani did not give one judgmental look. She kept bringing them snacks, talking to them and was just so kind. My children normally don't act this way so I was beyond embarrassed, on the verge of tears. When it was time to bring the check, she helped box up food and sent me with a goodie bag of treats and crayons for the kids. I was touched. She could have judged us, gave a bad attitude for the way our kids were acting and I wouldn't have blamed her but she didn't. She has been a blessing to me on this very chaotic day. I hope La Rosa's considers giving her a bonus or recognition of some sort because while she did this for my family, she was also dealing with many other tables. Thank you Tiffani! For my money, this is the best salad and pizza in Mason. We love this restaurant and have eaten here several times now. I usually get the anti-pasta salad with a medium pizza (and have several slices to take home). The sauce does have a hint of sweetness to it; there is just the right amount of cheese and the toppings are quite good. There are several different crust to choose from and many toppings as well. It's a great family dining atmosphere and they have quite a few items on their menu to choose from. There are also alcoholic drinks such as wines and draft beers to choose from. read more

I honestly think that people who enjoy this pizza have never ventured outside of the greater Cincinnati area because it is so awful. If you can get past the disgustingly sweet red sauce that has a remarkable similarity to the aroma of vomit, it isn't the worst thing on the menu. Everything else is just that bad. Do not get wine. Seriously. Get bottled beer. The glass of chianti was so bad, I'm not even sure it was wine. I think it might have been some overfermented balsamic vinaigrette. Actually scratch that... this place is so non-real Italian they wouldn't even have balsamic ... perhaps some sugar water instead? On a positive note, the kids seem to like the breadsticks. read more

LaRosa's is one of those fond memories my husband has for the Cincinnati area, so it was a must to stop at and eat while visiting. I have never had it, but pleasantly surprised to hear they had a gluten free crust, so we were all able to eat. This could be the best gluten free crust I've ever had at a restaurant. It is soft and crispy in the right places, and the flavor is excellent. I am used to the same old crackery crust from places like BJs, so this was a really good change of pace. The waitress was really nice in dealing with our questions and needing to change orders to accommodate the table's allergies. I don't get tomato sauce on pizza but I did try it to see what the hype was about. Definitely not impressed. They do have a variety of pizza sauces like BBQ, ranch and Alfredo, and they were able to just put OO on for me, so no big deal. This is a pretty chill place. I see a lot of bad reviews for the service, and yes, I do see their points. I wouldn't come here in a hurry, but for a relaxed night out with family, I mean ... who cares? It's like complaining about service at a Godfather's Pizza. I don't really understand why a place like this has a wait staff, but whatever. I didn't get sick from eating here and the food was good. I feel like I have to review LaRosa's at least once. I picked the Mason location because I used to live right by there, but they are all pretty much the same. I like the deep dish pizza the most. The crust is good and the sauce is sweet, which I like. However, they put too much cheese on their pizza, so I get it without and loaded up with veggies. It's also kind of strange that once in a while we order pan pizza and traditional crust and we can't tell which is which. I've also had their spaghetti, which was not bad, but forgettable. Their salads are decently good because their Italian dressing is tasty (but their produce is mediocre).
