My first time here and was very impressed with the whole experience. Located in the Cherry Valley Shopping Center, it's a very easy in and out with plenty of parking. You walk in to the counter area and immediately see a wide variety of different pizzas they offer. Lots of electricity in the air making for a great ambiance. There is terrific interaction between the employees here. Everyone seems to be having a great time and their customers are all smiling just watching them. Lots of pizza slices during lunch being ordered, heated and served. I came for lunch and ordered two slices, after a few minutes (I told them very hot,) it was served and we took them to their spacious back room seating area. In an word, the slices are delicious. Crispy crust, tasty sauce, and plenty of tasty cheese. This is just a comfortable place to be for a quick lunch (or dinner as they have a pretty extensive menu.) I happened to be in Cherry Valley shopping center and decided to get a slice. I'm not sure if I recall seeing this pizza spot in the past, but decided to give it a shot. I'm only a fan of a regular slice and feel that's the best way to judge pizza. I have to say, I was really surprised how good this was. Nice cheese to sauce ratio, firm undercarriage, and a nice crust. They have plenty of things on the menu and various types of pizza. The guy behind the counter couldn't have been more hospitable. Went here for the first time to try their Detroit Pizza........When its on the plate it sure looks like Detroit pizza.....It just doesnt taste like it ......Detroit is supossed to be crunchy and on the sides where the carmilized mootz is should be even more crunchy.....It just doesnt measure up.......The dough is very soft and cotton E.....It just takes away any chance of it beiing crispy......Ive had Detroit pizza at Buddys in detroit and Tori T's in malverne.......Larosas just doesnt come close.......P.S. I order from LaRosa's pretty often. First and foremost, they make the best Rigatoni alla Vodka that I have ever had. I catered from them for Christmas Eve. The good Sicilian slice. Very very solid Sicilian slice. Perfect thickness, perfect balance of chew to crisp. Great crust, flavorful sauce. Pinwheel was solid. Very small compared to other spots, but taste was there The bad The price. $14 for a regular, sicilian and pinwheel is way up there Regular slice. One of the worst ive ever had. Wild how the sicilian was so good, but the regular is so bland. Wound up taking 2 bites and throwing out the rest. There was a weird smell and taste, almost like dirty dish water. LaRosa's is one of those great local Italian pizzeria restaurants in West Hempstead, off of Hempstead Turnpike in the Cherry Valley Shopping center. Convinced that in the many years that they have existed there, they are the true heart of that strip of business. The reason they survive around all the businesses that come/go is because they stick to traditional core family values and adapt accordingly to the patrons wants and needs. Today's journey brings me there to tap their catering menu as I prepare for upcoming cast party. Being that I have successfully run a local community theater group for the past 14 years of their 15 years of existence (15 of the 17 shows and counting), I personally like to introduce my actors that come from all areas of the island to experience what the local restaurant community has to offer. This years pick LaRosa's for 2 reasons: 1. The show centers around two Italian immergrants journey to America in the 1950s to work, so Italian cuisine only fitting. 2. They (LaRosa's) prove that with hardwork and dedication from family and friendly, knowledgeable staff that good food is easily made well, satisfying even the pickiest of platelets. They have a wide selection of what most would consider traditional Italian cuisine and new age specialty offerings on their daily and catering menus. Pricing is on par with current markets cost of materials to create the tasty delights. Today eventhough there to coordinate future business, couldn't pass up grabbing a slice to go. Being that they were just starting their day the variety of mouthwatering choices was bountiful looking and smelling just right. Hardly anyone could resist in my mind as I almost wanted a 'Tapas' style smorgasbord of a little bit of everything. I opted to take their first white slice of the day and mount it with their sautéed garlic & olive oil spinach and black olives. Who knows maybe it inspires them to make it the next specialty slice! Ingredients were fresh and full of flavor. The crust thin enough to hold it all steadily, not to hard or soft, just right to be able and wanting to eat every last bite. That says a lot for a gal like me known for throwing away the crust. There is no question on whether I'd go back, it's more like when. :) Luckily for me the cast party is next week and LaRosa's chicken parmigiana, penne a la vodka, saugage & peppers, along with their famous garlic bread is on its way. Wow!! Where do I begin? After moving into Franklin Square and hoping to find a very good pizzeria and pasta I came across LaRosa's... I have tried quite a few different pizzerias and have left feeling like "ehhh, that was alright". Not here though, this place is excellent, and I come from Brooklyn so we are very tough critic's on pizza and pasta. Not to mention, all of the waiters in the back are very nice and super attentive. I've ordered from LaRosa's for my whole life. Recently they've really let me down in which they lost 4 customers in 1 home. I had a delivery, asked for a Sicilian pie with half pepperoni & sausage. The picture posted is what I got. Still I got charged for a full side. Next I placed an order including 2 white slices. I was only brought one. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt but this time is the last time. I just called to order 2 chicken rolls that I wanted to makmade from scratch, not ones that have been sitting out all day. The girl who I'm so sorry to say I unfortunately had to deal with before asked someone in charge. They said no they are already made. This girl specifically needs more ALOT more training as I know she's been there for at least a few months now. It really is sad that LaRosa's won't do things to make their customers happy. When I called to order for delivery, the second I mentioned the coupon, the girl on the phone taking the order got an attitude real quick. Told me to pay cash and jacked up the total a few dollars. I ordered a chicken roll as to not just get a free pie from them, and be a decent customer. Also gave a super generous tip. They didn't even have the decency to send ONE side of marinara sauce with the chicken roll, which is pretty standard anywhere else. Don't send out a coupon for a free pie if you don't want to honor it without an attitude. Nasty girl on the phone cost this place what would've been a frequent customer. read more

So back in 9/14/2016, I wrote a review on this place since this WAS a favorite of mine for years. I was willing to give then a 2nd chance. Well here we are in 2021 and seems nothing has changed. I ordered a pie to be delivered and was told the price would be 26 dollars. (the pie was 18 dollars with 4.75 additional for a topping equals 22.75) No too bad, I asked if that included the tax, was told an additional fee for Covid 19 delivery would make the total 26.74. OK, I agreed. So 25 minutes later our Pie arrived. Handed the delivery guy 40 dollars and said just give me back 10. (figured I would be nice and round up the fee for the delivery guy making it 30 dollars) Guess what? the guy had only 8 dollars. So now my pie in total came out to 32 dollars for a pie. I ordered a GLUTEN FREE pizza with sautéed vegetables as I have Celiac Disease. I got A gluten free pizza crust with zucchini among other vegetables on it. I questioned the zucchini and the zucchini was battered in FLOUR !! This makes the pizza not gluten free. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the zucchini until after I had a few pieces. Not only was I charged $20 for a personalized pizza I got an attitude on top of it!!! Terrible customer service. An apology would have gone a long way. Never go in there if you are GLUTEN FREE. I was in a hurry as usual and drove by "LaRosa's Pizzeria Restaurant." After making a quick u-turn, I made my way into this location. Parking lot was very big, so I found a spot quick. It was busy for a Wednesday and the staff was moving quickly. The place itself was very clean and when you walk in there's seating in the front. Towards the back is restaurant seating where they serve you. I wasn't going to have time for that so I just made my way over to the counter. The staff was friendly enough and very accommodating. I asked for my pizza not to hot and that exactly how they did it for me. I do think some of the specialty items were priced to high so I stayed away from them. Finally, when I got my slices, I exited and ate on the go. The slices were nothing special and I really didn't enjoy them all that much. I'm pretty sure it's a one and done for me. But if you like atmosphere, great staff and a clean place, it's definitely worth a visit. read more

Take out Date: February 26, 2017 Visited my godmother at her house. She ordered us take out from here for lunch. We both chose to have wraps with side salad because it was pretty healthy. I had a wrap with eggplant, mozarella cheese and I believe roasted peppers. I am not sure what the name of the wrap was. The wrap was decent, I wouldn't call it memorable but I wouldn't say it was terrible. My one gripe as I have with many restaurants now that I'm trying to eat healthy is that I did not have enough vegetarian protein in my wrap. My nutritionist wants me to fill up on as much protein as I can. As a vegetarian my choices usually are tofu, cheese or eggs. Most of the time when I go places I never get a good amount of tofu, cheese or eggs. So La Rosa I implore you give us vegetarians more cheese if we order something with cheese in it! read more

I've lived within delivery radius of La Rosa's for over 10 years and have reliably ordered and enjoyed their food almost on a weekly (sometimes twice a week!) basis. The last two times however we have run into an issue when ordering. The first time, we asked for a simple substitution and got a very rude response. The second time - I get that mistakes happen, but when I call to say that I got the wrong sauce and the manager(?) gets on the phone to tell me that I'm wrong and why, I'm a bit shocked. Especially when this is an item in order consistently without issue. I know that people can be jerks, but not everyone is, so maybe operating from the benefit of the doubt instead of shouting me down and then NOT sending the correct sauce would be a better option. read more

Had to think this one out. I wasn't going to write anything but I just have to. They must have new owners as I noticed a ton of new folks. Anyway more staff are wearing chin straps then face mask. I understand it sucks but cover your nose. The mask does nothing covering your face. My nephew lost thousands of dollars as he had to close his restaurant because staff were acting in the same manner. Food was mediocre.
