A very small but yet cozy restaurant in Eureka and to be honest, probably the only place I can recommend. If I were ever to return to Euerka, it would be to come here lol. (Not a fan of Euerka at ALL.) We loved all our dishes. My favorite though was the mushroom toast. Least favorite was the Cajun Mac & Cheese. Still ok but not much creamy cheese. We got the cobbler for dessert, which was pretty good.

Was very impressed, unfortunately we weren't that hungry and didn't get a chance to enjoy more than one shared dish which was their flatbread. Perfectly crispy with Humboldt Fog, tomato, mushroom, kale and fried onions. It was delicious! We were passing through on a road trip, or else we would definitely go back again to try some other dishes. Service was great as well. Highly recommend.

Smalls has such a flair in the kitchen for amazing food and amazing service. Me and my wife were looking for a dog friendly place to eat and Smalls was gracious enough to let us come in with ours . Mind you our dogs are very well behaved so we were just grateful for them allowing us. They even brought out a dog bowl for water . The vibe was just really beautiful and decorated beautifully. It's perfect for date nights or family dinners. Service was amazing, we had Emma and Matt, between them both we were taken care of from all angles. The food was pretty delicious , I got their chicken artichoke... the sauce was amazing, the chicken was tender, the shrimp was delicious. My wife got the eggplant parmigiana, she absolutely love the eggplant and but she said the sauce and the pasta was ok. She did enjoy it overall. We closed it all off with their Colombian coffee creme brulee. The flavors were there but the custard did not sit appropriately... so it was a little more liquid and warm. The flavors were there so we enjoyed it. We love the heart that Smalls has in its ambitious nature and know they will only grow from here. If we lived in the area this would probably be a regular for us to go to. It seems like the chef loves to try new things and have new specials so you just can't go wrong with that.

I suggest making reservations!! Crazy busy, especially today on a Friday dinner rush. Quality/Quantity - We got lucky! As we got here, a nice lady gave up her counter top seating so we would not have to wait, THANK you! So today we got the following: Dirty Beto Burger - My daughter's option, and it was a home run; well ALL of our dishes were a home run! Bolo Pasta - My wife's order, another good dish. I just would have preferred more. Just being greedy. LOL. And I got more wings for my dinner (had wings for lunch also at Viethai in Santa Rosa; see other 5 star reviews). Actually, these wings were even better (slightly better). The flavor, slight kick, etc. And to wash it all down, I got the local Mad River Brewing Steelhead Extra Pale Ale. So smooth and refreshing, especially in a frosted glass. All orders were made to order, so please be patient. Ambiance - Very small local business. Service - 6 stars. From Matty, our very experienced waiter to the owner chef. Matty was so professional, I actually enjoyed watching him work. Work the tables, train the day-one waitress, communicate with the chef, etc. So impressive. Price - $65 + generous tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since opening in mid 2025. We will be regular customers but next time we will make reservations ahead of time. BTW - You are the talk of the town! Congrats again.

The location of this restaurant is in Eureka port city, in California, on the way to Redwood National and State Parks on US-101, so it's a pretty convenient stop. Parking is a street parking, also check side roads like O st. Restaurant is small but cozy with attentive and kind staff. Both bolo and crudo pasta were delicious and light.

Very good food. The steak with asparagus and fries was very delicious with mushrooms on top. There was also lots of delicious garlic bread.

The restaurant was super busy when we walked in and we were afraid we weren't going to be able to eat at this amazing place. We were so lucky that we did, the food was absolutely amazing. We ordered the crabfat chicken wings which were perfect. I loved the hint of crabfat and spice and the crispy chicken. We also ordered the squash pasta and pork belly which was one of their specials for the night. It was absolutely amazing, I loved the creamy pasta and the bites of squash with the seasoned pork belly. Street parking available here. Absolutely amazing meal, thank you for having us!

10/10!! Been wanting to try this place and I'm so glad we did!! Amazing service--loved our waitress, Emma-- she took care of us the whole night and was so sweet, made us feel very welcome. The restaurant is located in a place where you might overlook but it's a hidden gem. Really cute and cozy inside and the food! Everything we tried was 10 out of 10, the chicken was cooked perfectly--not too dry at all. Mashed potatoes were amazing, asparagus had a really good grilled flavor and the crab fat wings! Omg Crispy wings, hard to come by in Humboldt County, can't wait to come back. This will be our new place. Happy to have Smalls here in Eureka!

Our server was very pleasant and let us know the special of the day, a halibut dish with a creamy pepper sauce. Debating between that and another dish, we asked her recommendation and she suggested the fish. So we did it. My wife and I traditionally split meals at restaurants, because they generally give you so much food, you leave uncomfortably stuffed. We prefer leaving comfortably satisfied. So we split the Arugula Salad. They bring complementary bread with a garlic butter or basalmic and olive oil. We preferred the basalmic. The garlic butter wasn't very garlicky. But the salad was excellent. They split it for us for a small upcharge. The Halibut was excellent. We had to split it ourselves, but that was not a problem for us. It was served over couscous and was excellent. A bit small to split, so we added a cheesecake dessert with ganache. Very good. We paired it all with a Cabernet from the Oakville area of Napa (where we had just visited) and it was excellent as well. Our server was attentive. The pacing of our meal was very well done. Not too long between check-ins, but also not rushed. We recommend!

Staff overall were great, and our waiter was very professional. The menu looks really good and as the name implies, there's a lot of seafood options for dinner. Someone got the fish and chips which was pricier than other places BUT it came with FOUR pieces instead of the usual three. I did the Snapper Almandine which was so good so amazingly delicious, I would absolutely eat that again. the polenta side tho was probably my favorite of the night, so crispy on the outside and soft and tender inside, flavor was amazing . If they piled high on a dinner plate and served that for 30 I would take it!!! I'll be very curious to try one of the steaks next time and see how it compares with other restaurants in town that I hear recommended often. The only minor issue was trying to get a replacement water glass after we first sat down because of lipstick print on the glass. I hate talking too loud in restaurants so thankfully the hostess noticed us before long. I feel for the kitchen staff, those oils do not wipe off cleanly and I often wonder how it is removed from cloth napkins.

I just wanted a glass of wine, and i did get a glass of wine. However, I would say the choices for by the glass wine was not great. The food however, was excellent! We started with the Dungeness crab cocktail, which was a very nice portion for two. Then we followed with a cup of clam chowder that we shared. We each had a house salad that I thought was delicious. I had vinaigrette on mine and my husband have thousand island on his. He has been on this eternal search for the best thousand island dressing and he swears by this one! We also split tonight, special of Halibut with a white wine, garlic butter sauce, and Shitake mushrooms. It was not only the perfect portion size, but extremely good! We skipped dessert, but moved to the bar for a nightcap where we met a local guy and a few other visitors...it was very fun...everyone was very friendly! If you're passing through and you would like a good dinner, I would suggest this location.

Major turn off and it was also pretty loud as the bar goers were getting drunker by the minute and louder as they went along. There were two waitresses that helped us (they took turns if the other was busy because they were also attending the bar as well). Both were very nice, attentive, and friendly and gave us good service throughout our meal. I am conflicted about the steak because the steak was very delicious, tender, perfectly cooked to my liking and had a good flavor to it. However, it was ruined because it was way way too salty!!!! Also the Zoragonla butter was awful for me it was way too overpowering and actually took away from the delicious meat. I regeted spending the extra $4 for that topping. The baked potato I thought was the star of the meal. Wonderfully prepared, soft and tender. Good quality butter and sour cream to go with it made it one of the better potatoes I have had at a steak place. I ate my entire potato which I never do! My husband's Ribeye was a little overcooked and he also complained about the saltiness as well. But agree with me on the baked potato being very good. Overall, the steak is very good but I would ask for it to be unsalted and just season it yourself to your liking because the kitchen way over does it. I would also get it to go unless you enjoy breathing smoke while you eat. I don't so I would not eat in again.
