The waitstaff were nice and polite and the service is quick but the sandwiches are lacking. We ordered the 12 inch Philly with cheese and onions. The amount of meat would not have been enough for a 6 inch. The meat lacked flavor and the entire sandwhich might have had one piece of cheese on the entire thing. It was okay.....Nothing to write home about. Ernie and I usually go to Subway for our subs. We were working the Polls on Voting day and this was in walking distance. So, I went around 10:30am to pick up a to-go menu to take back for us to look over. I got the special of the day, which was posted, "tuna". So, I ordered the tuna special of the day and I ordered the Ultimate sub for Ernie. Our order was over $22.00. Each sub was more than $9.00 and my special of the day was only $1.00 off the tuna combo(extra $2.99 minus a dollar). Not so special in my eyes this time around. The tuna tasted fresh, but no flavor(salt, pepper, onions). I wished I had picked up some salt and peppery I make it better. The employees get a 5 though. They were very fast, friendly and efficient. I love the Cuban and that is what I usually get, but their Philly and the Animal are good too. They also have salads. This time the lady in front of me gave the, apparently new, cashier a $20 And then the exact change. He, however, mis-rang it by a nickel and couldn't figure out how much to give her back. Two other employees came to help but couldn't figure it out either. The manager finally came over and showed him the calculator and how to figure it out. The customer kept telling him you just owe me $5. I wanted to chime in, but let it play out while I waited. It was amusing but sad too as this is what the world has come to. I go to this Larry's location about once a month because it's convenient for me. The folks are always really nice. Today I went in with some temporary dietary restrictions and asked a couple questions. Restaurants aren't always able to accommodate dietary restrictions (understandably!), but in this case they answered my questions and were easily able to accommodate me. I'm so thankful! Was craving a Philly cheesesteak today so decided to come to this establishment. Service was friendly and food came out fast. My first impression of the sub was "looks pretty decent". After several bites I was highly disappointed! Meat had no taste and was pretty dry. Mushrooms tasted a little bitter onions and peppers were straight. Best part about the sub was the bread! The way the cashier described, it sounded good, especially because it would take extra time to cook it -- breaded eggplant, with marinara & provolone cheese. I ordered mine on wheat bread. We had it as take away. Got home (the drive is 5 minutes at most), first disappointment was white bread, second was little to no marinara sauce, third was it may have had one slice of eggplant on it, I could tell the sandwich was very flat (and not from pushing on it, just nothing in it). I absolutely cannot believe I paid $6.50 for a slice of WHITE bread! My husband's Pastrami sandwich on the other hand, was, he said, very good, except he said no pickle and we still got them. I order/eat at this location at least once a week and it's typically great but the last couple of times I've come in there's one younger guy who has a ponytail either blonde or light brown hair who has an attitude from hell. He's just has the worst attitude when taking the orders huffing and puffing rolling his eyes and hitting the screen my order isn't that hard I just asked for no cheese?? and even the subs he makes are thrown together very poorly. If he can't handle a job in customer service maybe he shouldn't work there. I try to give places and people a second chance with the chance they were just having a bad day but I guess his bad day it every day. I won't go back to this location which sucks cause it was very convenient and I won't be recommending it to anyone else due to the past bad experiences with the same person. read more

This is the best Larry's location I've ever been to by a longshot. Since we're gluten-free, there are not many sub shops that we can go to. The sandwiches the past few months have been amazing, although I typically don't like gluten-free sandwiches because the bread can be quite dry. They really do a great job with the taste of the sub, and it's phenomenally better than the low quality meat products at Subway. When you order, the turnaround is quick, and they're attentive to your order, even when complicated. We do have a mishap every once in a while which they are quick to correct. We've never had them mess up on the gluten-free part of our order, which is critical. The up-charge for gluten-free bread is a little pricy in my opinion, but because they give 20% off to police and fire, it evens out for us. I've been to other locations of Larry's that don't offer that. They also do free drinks for children, a nice touch. They offer free kids meals on certain days, but because of the discount, we choose not to take advantage of that. Overall, this location is the only sub shop that we frequent with any regularity. I came in to get dinner for my fiancé and I when I arrived I ordered my food I asked a question about if they maybe had a spicy Italian sub the guy taking my order rudely said look over there I don't know. so then I ordered something else I got home my sub had hair in it the salad I order was CHICKEN SALAD that would put on a sandwich not chicken breast. Apparently I've been living 2 minutes from this little hidden gem and am just now finding it. I drive past this location multiple times a day and have never spotted it. Although a chain sandwich shop, I've always stuck with what I've known. I gave in and finally gave them a try, my husband and I went in for a take out order. There are so many options, it's a really versatile place- not just sandwiches but soups and salads as well. It was fairly empty when we arrived so we were able to order immediately. I got the turkey sandwich, heated. Which comes with provolone, lettuce, tomato and onions. (Pickle on the side of you ask!!) My husband got the classic Cuban. The wait time was decent, while waiting a good amount of people came in behind us. When we got home we went to town. Definitely gives jimmy johns a run for their money, my husband and I both agreed. My only complaints were I didn't like that you can't exactly watch them make your sub like you can at subway or jimmy johns. Also that my tomato seemed old, they get a look and taste after a certain point, it wasn't salvageable and lastly, there was a huge plate of bacon just sitting on the top of the toaster. I ordered The Italian big one, and it was delicious. Although the bread was flat, I was able to taste a well-balanced sandwich. This sandwich had a splash of pickles, without any pickles. I am a long time loyal customer of Larry's Subs. I frequent the Northside location on Lem Turner and more recently the Southside Corp store. I was passing by monument road and stopped in at Larry's Subs off Monument Rd. This experience was terrible!! I ordered a 8" tuna sub and was coaxed by cashier to get the combo. She then bills it as a sandwich, chips, and a drink. I asked her about the bill, and she sent the manager over. The manager said "The owner said if anyone gets a military discount then you have to ring up the items individually and not as a combo". I was completely dumbfounded that this is their store policy! The total bill for a 8" tuna sub plus chips and a drink was $9.72 Just the prior day I had the same meal at the corporate store on Southside and it was $7.72 - which btw was fantastic! On top of that, they made the smallest sub they could think of and the tuna was tasteless. I was not impressed at all. I would not recommend the monument store at all!! I am going to report them to Larry's Corp and BBB for misrepresentation, false billing practices. read more

Larry's giant subs is comparable to its competition. They have different types of sandwiches but taste and quality is the same. I like that I can call in and order and it's ready in about 15 minutes. The only negative thing is that their online menu isn't available at all locations. Example: bbq chicken isn't available at this location. read more
