Yes, with the fresh ingredients, I was was taken back to what I been missing. Service was excellent & my order came out quick. It's a small place with the comfort of my living room where we ate. I was told that she would take her chips on top to keep the crunch however she said that the ingredients were fresh. Safe to to say this will be a stop for us to return. I was skeptical at first, but I'm glad I decided to try this Lil shop right near my client's location in N. Jacksonville, when we needed to do a quick lunch. We ordered 3 entrees, plus peanut brittle and a brownie, and everything was just really delicious. Simple food, but they use quality ingredients and make it well. We tried the bacon cheeseburger, grilled cheese with bacon, and the grilled chicken wrap. Everyone just raved about their dishes, and we could tell they use good quality bacon thats thick and smokey. You can come for their famous taco salad or for their array of sandwiches, but you need to try this spot. It is not in an outdoor mall or strip center, but that just adds to the charm. They have a few tables I side, but if it is a nice day, sit outside in the gazebos and don't keep to yourself, people here enjoy a good chat so introduce yourself to others in your gazebo. Only one suggestion, when you drive in the entrance, pull through the first parking area and go behind the restaurant, there is more parking in the other side. But you really want to hear about the food: Egg Salad - messy, but my favorite sandwich. Cheeseburger - good, but you can get burgers anywhere. Banana Pudding - not my favorite. Small Taco Salad - perfect size for lunch, but you will be stuffed. Medium Taco Salad - more of a good thing for you big eaters Large Taco Salad - okay, this is too much of a good thing. I drove by for years and finally stopped in, wish I had done it sooner. The steak n sac is the best Philly steak sandwich I have had since leaving Philly. It might be in a pita bread shell but damn it is good. I will defiantly be making this my new go to place for a quick lunch. read more

Sometimes a sandwich can be amazing in the fact that it is without pretense. One thing that Jacksonville, Florida offers is what has become known as the Camel Rider. The origins of this sandwich are from the 1960's. The name might be a bit outdated now, but Jacksonville embraces both the sandwich and the name. A Camel Rider is pretty simple in nature. It is a combination of cold cuts and toppings and served within a pita. This might seem a bit tame now, but it must have been rather exotic to residents of Jacksonville, Florida back in the 1960's. One of the best burgers I had in a long time! This little gem is located on the north side of Jacksonville near a bunch of industrial buildings, so it's popular amongst the locals. My manager and I dined in so we got to enjoy the nature and their delicious food. Not a lot of tables and chairs but enough to accommodate the amount of customers they have during rush hours. The juicy burger that I had the pleasure to devoured was absolutely amazing- bacon was crispy, meat was tender and full of flavors. I came to this hidden gem for the highly recommended taco salad. The place itself is tiny, fills up fast, and gets pretty busy but was still clean and welcoming. The ordering service was easy enough and the lady behind the counter was nice. But I waited outside for my order because it got crowded very quickly. I thought about getting a burger or a sandwich but a loyal customer convinced me that the taco salad was the way to go. And big as day on the menu is a list of ingredients for the taco salad. So I got the taco salad as it comes and as long as I was misbehaving, I couldn't pass up the restaurant made caramel rice krispie treat that was among a mountain of other delicious looking desserts. I got it to go since the tables filled up and it was too cold for me to sit out in the gazebo. Everything was good. I'm not a taco salad connoisseur, so the hoopla about it completely missed me. But I ate it all so it was good. I just don't think I would crave it but time will tell. The caramel rice krispie treat was good too. Had kind of a plasticky taste but I ate it all so it was good. I often find myself craving their food at night and I'm out of luck! Hubby introduced me to this place. He's been eating the taco salads here for years. They claim to have the best taco salad in town and according to my husband, they have the best taco salad he's ever had. I don't eat taco salads, so I'll have to take his word for it. If you are a taco salad eater, you should definitely try one here. They have a really good bbq pulled pork sandwich and it's very filling. Just the perfect amount of bbq so it has a nice flavour, but not so much that it's messy and gets everywhere. I also really love their club sandwiches. They cook the bacon perfectly and the sandwiches come with both turkey and ham. So many places like to do club sandwiches with just turkey, but I like both, so they are perfect here. Make sure to bring cash. They do not accept cards and there is no ATM on the property. There is very limited seating indoors and it's pretty cramped. Most people call in their orders and pick them up to go. There is seating outside in a screened-in gazebo. However, this is Florida, so that option may not be a good one. Hubby and I have eaten in here once, but because of how crowded they are, we just pick out food up and bring it home. read more

If you are speeding on this back road you will miss it, the restaurant closes at 2pm Mon-Fri. I decided to stop by and check it out and was pleasantly surprised. The ladies that work here are very friendly and knew most of the customers by name. I ordered the Medium Taco Salad (which filled up an entire Styrofoam container), it was hot and made pretty quickly.
