First time here. 80s music playing. Impeccably clean. The older gentleman with salt pepper here and glasses. I guess he's the owner? He is just extremely accommodating and so kind and so polite he said to me the menu doesn't really matter. You just tell me what kind of a sub you make, and I will make it. This is because it was my first time there, and I was so overwhelmed by all of the options of what to order. When I told him I was just gonna get the daily special which is him and cheese. He asked me if I wanted to put it on Cuban bread and I said oh are you gonna toast it or press it he's like not usually but if you want me to press it, he goes. It'll be great with the Cuban bread because it's crispy. They get it fresh every day he said, and when he pressed it, it was just perfection. It was a nice crusty traditional Cuban bread. These are truly New York style subs. It's nice to be able to have an option for free refills if you eat in. I love that they are cognizant of recycling. Their turkey breast lunchmeat is anabiotic free. This is really the closest you can get to a place to eat on your way to the Tesla dealership. Sandwiches get made here really fast.! This is a chain. I think it is local but there are quite a few. As a rule you get a decent sub in a clean shop, but there is nothing that stands out. I ordered the ultimate. Ham, turkey and roast beef with provolone cheese. I was told they were out of onions. Literally every sandwich they sell comes with onions. Go to the grocery store around the corner and get some. They can't just be out four au least 2 days. You order at the counter, pay at the counter, fill your own drink, and pick up your food at the counter. When you pay they ask for a tip. I take away 1 star for this. The owner should pay the employees as they are not providing a tipped worthy service. The sandwich was ready quick and taste good. They just need to improve some business practices. read more

I used to work at this place when it was a teenager many many years ago. It's changed a lot since then, but I do know how their signature sandwiches should be made and taste. Their stores are hit and miss depending on which ones you stop at. You think they should all be the same, but no. The store at Atlantic Blvd and St. John's bluff is one of those misses! They never get your order right and the sandwich will taste different. So depending on the servers, you may get a good sandwich. I will ALWAYS recommend Larry's to someone asking where to eat in our city, but some locations are better than others. This is one such location, and arguably my favorite. I get a Gold Rush at every Larry's I go to, and my complaints are normally the same; way too much onion, way too much lettuce, not enough sauce. This location was the opposite, and checked every box on my list. Perfect ratio on the veggies, meats, and sauce. The employees were chipper, attentive, and in a surprisingly good mood. Food was made quickly and brought out to me. Definitely one of the cleanest Larry's locations I've been in, and I could smell the pleasant undertones of cleaning products. TV displaying ads near the entry was a nice and humorous touch. Truly a hidden gem! read more

I came here for lunch during the week. From the second we walked in the staff was super friendly and willing to provide suggestions. I went with the destroyer sub. It was great all the meat was super fresh, vegetables where crunchy. Trullys enjoyed the entire experience. When I am back in town looking forward to stoping back in to get another sub. Ive always loved Larry's but the prices have gotten out of control. I still would look past it. So I get a coupon book that had $7 savings on an 8" sub. The guy tries to say it is expired (Dec 2023), then just says they dont accept them any more. I was floored at how cheap a major chain could be. Out of principle I dont see myself eating there any longer. Not honoring coupons is not doing business in good faith. If I could give 0 stars I would. It was a nice 25+ yr run for me but Im done with the $17 foot longs and penny pinching on coupons. What a joke! read more

Wow!!! That was a great sub. They do 8" & 5" subs. For me that perfectly fine. I didn't feel stuffed after eating a combo meal. If you dine-in, your food is brought over to you table. I frequented this Larry's location several times and always get the grilled chicken sub. The sub is great, very fresh but what I love most is the gluten free sub rolls they have. Most places that offer them the bread is awful and usually falls apart easily. It is very hard to find good gluten free options especially for sandwiches. This place may have several awesome items on it's menu. I'll never know. Found what i love, and I'll order it every time. Larry's might have one of the top 5 Chicago beef sandwiches I've ever had....and this is coming from a fat guy who spent over 20 years working IN CHICAGO...and got a beef sandwich at least once a week. For the purists - here's what it's NOT: 1) They don't "dip" the sandwich - they give you a cup of juice - pour it over it and get over it. 2) The bread is soft - not the crispier type you'd find at an Al's, Mr. Beef or Portillo's - for me, that's even better - I'd prefer the softer, almost Jimmy John's like bread they use 3) The beef is real roast beef - tender and slightly rare (FUN FACT: The original "Italian Beef" got that name because the Italian's who worked in the slaughterhouses at the turn of the century got the worst cuts of beef because they were cheap - then had to boil them in seasonings and slice it very thin to mask the toughness of the meat) 4) The put cheese on it - I'm OK with /prefer that GREAT jardiniere - and an all around great sandwich. - In addition, the lady who appears to run the place is super sweet - AND they have diet Dr. Pepper in the fountain drinks!!!!! read more

I normally don't write reviews, but this poor girl was by herself working, which I believe you shouldn't work alone for safety reasons. My order was 2 lrg meatballs. One with extra sauce, both with Provo cheese. Probably would have disregarded the extra sauce not being one the sandwich, but there was a lot of Italian seasoning on top which was overwhelming. Larry's Giant Subs is a smaller sub shop chain in the southeastern United States. Their specialization is Authentic New York Style Subs. I do not know if their subs meet the goal for New York standards of authentic, but I do know that their subs are delicious. They have a nice variety of hot and cold subs. My favorite on the hot side is their classic "The Ultimate." Its a wonderful marriage of ham,turkey, roast beef, melted provolone cheese, on a toasted bun with the veggies however you like them. Two additional unique hot subs that they offer worth trying is the "Muffaleta" and "The Inferno." They do a large variety of cold subs as well that are noteworthy. "The Ham and Cheese, and Turkey subs are very traditional and tasty. My favorite two unique cold subs are the "Egg-Salad" sub and the total throwback to lunchtime as a kid, the "Peanut butter and Jelly" sub. All I can say is wow. They also offer a variety of salads (The antipasto is my favorite). They even do hot dogs and soup. The price is more expensive than subway, but in a world of getting what you pay for, the higher price is well worth it. This location is close to my home and the staff is very friendly and quick. Larry's has always been one of my favorite places for subs! The service is always great and the subs are consistently perfect every time. The ingredients are so fresh from the bread to the meats and veggies. I have had several different subs but my favorite that I get pretty much every time is the Grilled Chicken Club. The chicken is always moist and the bacon always crisp which is a automatic win for me. I love to pile on the LTO and they always load it up just the way I want it! I always have to have a bottle of their Peruvian sauce in the fridge at home to eat it with, it is so delicious and has become one of my favorite condiments to use! Next time you visit I definitely recommend trying it out but beware you will be hooked! If you in to Italian subs they know how to deliver with all the meats your heart desires! The destroyer will change your world! If your looking for a philly then this is definitely your place too! The weather got cooler so I wanted a hot sub so we went to Larry's Giant Sub. I ordered an original philly sub, hubby got an ultimate and our son got a pizza sub. My hubby and I enjoyed our subs. Our son is picky and wanted to take off the cheese, pepperoni and sauce. The manager saw him so she offered to make the sandwich the way he wants it. We told him he just likes the bread. So she took away what he has and gave him a lightly toasted bread. She was so sweet. Not only did we have great food, the customer service was amazing. We will definitely come back. read more
