Solid diner-style joint. Have been to a number of events here over the years. The banquet facilities are fine for large groups, but service is nothing special. I think of Larry's as a breakfast joint. Lunch and dinner offers nothing that can't be had better elsewhere. Breakfast is pretty good. On the weekends they run a buffet. It is well-stocked with eggs, pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, blintzes, potatoes, and other foods. It's a decent deal if you come with an appetite. read more

We went for breakfast on Sunday and right from the beginning it was an awful experience. The hostess asked us to wait a moment for our three top table as we wait she seats the party behind us who also was a three top. I become confused and ask why we must wait but patrons coming in after us with the same people in their party can be seated promptly. The manager apologizes. We are seated finally. Most people at the table get the breakfast buffet and I order an omelette. After 30 mins of waiting for my breakfast and everybody else is done eating the manager( the same one) comes over and apologizes again for the long delay. She states she is having the kitchen prepare it now and that she will take my tomato juice drink ($2.49) off the bill. Honestly I thought she was joking offering only a discount of a beverage. As a former server at a high scale restaurant this type of service is unacceptable. This establishment is over priced and needs better management. read more

This is a local place for me. Food is consistent and good. It's a diner with slightly better food. It can get crowded and hectic at times but service hardly ever waivers. If your looking for a safe bet for a meal I would come here. Recently they have added local wines to the menu. It's by the bottle but they don't disappoint. Check it out for yourself. read more

Re-modeling adds a nice atmosphere to the place. Haven't tried much but breakfast as of late. Fan of the big-boy omlete, which is a 5 egg omlete and is composed of bacon, sausage, ham, peppers and onions. Very reasonable prices and they offer a decent selection of lunch and dinner items. Went here for breakfast for the first time recently, and loved every minute! Service was fantastic; our waitress Taylor knew the answers to all of my questions and was very helpful with what to order. Larry's is a staple in my life. I look forward to weekend breakfast several times a month. Although it is often busy (which sometimes leads to slower service), the food is always worth it. The staff is friendly and the menu has something for everyone. Their coffee is great, and I love their French toast with strawberries. I have patronized this place through the years. I also complained on 2 separate occasions to the establishment of a issue I believe is a potential health issue. That issue presented itself to me again this morning at breakfast. Upon entering the establishment around 8:30 am the salad bar was empty. Upon leaving around 9:10 a.m. the salad bar was completely stocked and an employee was cleaning the glass above the food. I don't know about everyone else but I have a problem with that. If there is any debris on the glass it surely would drop down below into the food. And when the guy sprayed the glass there was a mist floating in the air that surely will land on the food, that doesn't seem healthy or sanitary to me either. I just can't understand why the glass can't be cleaned prior to stocking it with food, isn't that what makes the most sense. So today I decided to take some pictures and write this review, maybe they will change their policy then. The rest of you can decide if you want to eat from the salad bar or not. Been coming here for years. Had soup and salad for dinner tonight with coffee. Seafood chowder and salad bar $9.99. My friend had New England Clam Chowder and salad bar $7.99. Soup and salad was all you can eat (but we were stuffed with one serving of soup and a huge salad)! All fresh and very good. Coffee was fresh. I usually come here for breakfast and enjoy that, too. I have also had large groups here and private parties - they did a good job accommodating us each time my family dined here as a large group. Great service and clean restaurant.. Excellent dinners and service. My husband and I were thrilled on Friday that the plates (& consequently the food) stayed hot. This was not always true so we noticed. Our entrees also had unique touches. Our server suggested having the sauce on the side for mine so I felt comfortable trying something new. Thank you, Christina! We regularly go here for the Sunday Brunch. (Now served on Saturday mornings too). If there was a better place to go, we would. Food is mediocre. Many advertised specials (the Prime Rib Special in particular) are sold out 15 minutes after the dinner service begins. No complaints about the service. If you want middle of the road food, service, and ambience, then Larry's is for you. read more

I went here a while ago and was not so happy but I went back again and tryed it again. The place is very nice and very clean. The staff was very warm and freindly. The waitress Casey was very nice and told us what she liked on the menu. We ordered we had the salad bar it was very fresh and clean. I went up several times. I had the soup seafood chowder it was great. My wife had chicken marcela she liked it. I am glad we came back and tryed again it was great meal. read more

Went to Larry's tonight to celebrate and was again disappointed. Ordered the Seafood Alfredo and the young man who was our waiter forgot to mention or didn't know that they were out of scallops. So instead of scallops, shrimp and crabmeat I got a bowl of pasta with 5 shrimp. When I asked the waiter to take something off of the 19.99, the manager came over and offered to go fry me up 1 more shrimp in his snarkiest manner. Done with the place and their lousy attitude. Service is super slow. I came in after lunch rush and felt that even though the restaurant wasn't full, I was overlooked by the waitress because I came in alone and chose to sit in a booth and not at the bar. It took them over 30 minutes to just bring soup to the table and over 45 minutes to receive a sandwich and fries. No one asked me how my meal was. And made me late getting back to work. Will probably not eat here again unless I have over an hour to kill, because the food was good. read more

I have been going to this restaurant for about 30 years. Their breakfast was always so good. However, on my last visit yesterday, I couldn't help but notice a change. The hostess acted like she was doing us a favor by getting up out of her seat to seat us. She did not even greet us. When we received our food, the cream chipped beef was the consistency of soup, the bread wasn't toasted and both of our home fries were burnt. They were actually black in spots. It was awful. From the outside the place is beautiful. Building appearance is always kept up. My problem with this place is on the inside. The place was remodeled several years ago and was great then. But now the chairs are all stained up nasty. Im always looking to swap out the chair for a better one. I think until they fix the chair issue this will be my last time here. And if they ever replace the chairs or seats I hope they have sense enough to use vinyl or something that can be wiped down. Breakfast is in my opinion is the best meal you will get there. I've never been to Larry's without asking myself why I keep going back. They are ovèrpriced and the food is never more than mediocre. Their only advantage is that they're close . I ordered scallops, and was brought a plate with Maybe 10 scallops; and there were only ten because they had been cut in half crosswise. They were broiled brown; so the texture was more like leather than anything...another time I ordered the calfs liver...there was bloody juice all over the plate. After sending it back twice, it finally arrived bloodless, and I was less than impressed. Then there was the time I ordered crab cakes and they were priced accordingly. I was brought Sea Legs cakes. I pointed this out to the waitress and sent it back; I left the restaurant without eating. read more

My family & I have been here on several occasions prior to this weekend & only had 1 good experience with the service. So this morning my husband & I were in the area & we decided to give it 1 more chance. The service was ridiculously slow, when we finally did get waited on, we spent a good portion of our morning waiting to get our food. Once the food finally arrived , I grabbed my toast to butter it & noticed that the toast was very cold. I started to butter 1 when I decided to get the attention of the waitress & explained that the toast was cold & asked if I could please get new toast that was hot. She returned in a couple minutes with the same toast because the butter was melted on the piece I buttered previously. Needless to say I was dissatisfied with how the waitress handled this. Instead of making me new toast they just reheated the toast I had. And because of this final straw we will not be returning here. It wasn't just the toast. ...the service here is continously bad. It really stinks because this is the closest restaurant near our house but I will not waste my time or money at a place that keeps providing terrible service. read more

We were travelling in NJ and the diner we chose to go to was unexpectedly closed. A lady who arrived at the same time said, "Go to Larry's." So we did. It was delightful. I had the pumpkin pancakes. So delicious. Our server was friendly and gave us lots of details of the area. As we walked in there was a coffee bar that looked to rival Starbucks, but we didn't try it. The food we ate was tasty and surprisingly cheap. We will go again when in the area. read more
