I've been to Apple Hill a good handful of times but never got a chance to stop at Larsen's. I've been missing out! The Apple barn and bake shop are separate buildings. When you step into the Apple barn the mixture of different types of apples smell SO good like you're holding a fresh apple right up to your nose. The bake shop also smells amazing of course. And the staff is so friendly and welcoming. Just past the bake shop is their museum of the Larsen family history. It was amazing to see the vehicles they had parked in there and all the old machinery. The two gentlemen inside the museum were amazingly welcoming and gave my partner and I a lesson in the history of everything we were looking at. They had all the current and old family photos hanging up near the entrance and an original map of Apple hill, it was really cool to see. We had a great time. I definitely recommend :)

Don't bother buying anything here they pick the most horrible apple when you purchase anything here

Don't bother buying anything from this place the person who helped me picked the most horrible items that needed to be thron in the trash.

The people are SO friendly here- I just love it!! This farm has been in the family for several generations (we spoke to one of them- she was so kind)! The museum is open and the bakery is filled with delicious treats... but sadly, we're told that their crop had a bad night of freeze and was ruined. I'm hopeful that this cute farm (and Larsen family) will triumph next year- so please make sure to check them out!! The bakery IS open NOW, so if you're hungry or have a sweet tooth, go say hi.

The Larsen Apple Barn Bake shop is the home of the original Apple turnover on the hill. Or so at least that is what's printed in the Apple Hill Farm guide. So when I dropped on by, I ordered a turnover $3.95. They top it with apple syrup. It was served at room temp, which was fine with me. I'm not a big proponent of microwaving a fresh made turnover. But the turnover was yummy. Thick flaky substantial crust with chunks of apples inside. Not overly sweet even with the syrup. Yum. The staff was fabulous and they described all the different kinds of pastries. You would never know they answer the same questions everyday, all day constantly because they are so friendly and helpful to each and every customer. Oh boy, let me tell you they have an extensive baked good offerings (varieties of whole and slices of pie, turnover, dumpling, muffins, cupcakes...) and cafe items like salads and sandwiches. Sweet and savory.

Although this review is for the bake shop, you'll find more than baked goods here. Food: Came here looking for an appleliscious snack after visiting the Apple Barn and the museum. While the Barn has fresh apples, cider, and frozen pies, you'll find lots of ready to eat goods in the Bake Shop. I sprang for the apple dumpling (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/larsen-apple-barn-bake-shop-camino?select=mSCSsoSq4CqA6oM1LiB5TQ#SnQXB6TvmMA_QRlA-pdXmg). This thing features a deliciously tart peeled apple baked until tantalizingly soft and wrapped with a carbtastic dough wrapper. Once you tear into the wrapper, a thick ooze of sugar and cinnamon pours out. So good! They also have drinks (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/larsen-apple-barn-bake-shop-camino?select=mSCSsoSq4CqA6oM1LiB5TQ#IIU6LWfIIw4oY99_B988oQ), burgers, and other non-apple foods, but you'll definitely eat better if you stick to the baked items. Atmosphere: The Bake Shop is just one of the buildings near the Larsen Apple Barn. You'll also find a museum detailing the history of the Larsen family and the barn itself which is always bustling with customers snapping up pies and crates of apples. I'll review the barn itself in a sec. It's a pretty far drive into Apple Hill, but I think it's worth a stop. Service: Could have been better. The girl who took my order was sort of out of it and I had to ask to get my dumpling after watching several other people get their orders out before me. It might have been that heating the dumpling takes longer than most items, but we waited a good 20 minutes for it to come out. Some notice would've been appreciated. Synopsis: Loving the apple dumpling. If I come back, I'll probably get a bunch of these to go and freeze them for special occasions.

Beautiful country bakery at apple hill. It is ideally located across from a beautiful park where families enjoy time together. We ordered the berry and apple sour cream pie...excellent!! Very simple, warm, and fresh. The larsen farm berries and apple's boast ideal fall flavors for a fruit pie..

The history museum was so interesting

Apple cookies not very good. They fell apart like a crumpled mess. So disappointed. Not cheap. Came from out of town. Won't return.

Famous for setting the gold standard of high-country orchard stops, this farm stand is equal parts cozy rustic nostalgia and absolute culinary magnetism. Hot Cider Donuts: You come here for hot apple cider doughnuts. Fried fresh to order, tossed in cinnamon sugar, and handed to you screaming hot. Pure indulgence. They feature a crisp, delicate outer crust gives way to pillowy, cider-rich interior. Pair one with a cup of their fresh-pressed, unfiltered spiced hot cider (or cold), and you have achieved peak autumn bliss. Fresh-Pressed Hot Cider: The ultimate dynamic duo pairing. This isn't just liquid sugar--it is punchy, pleasantly tart, and packed with warm, aromatic spices to balance out edge sweet treats. The Bakery Stand: Beyond the viral doughnuts, the bakery churns out massive deep-dish apple pies, berry tarts, and cider-insisted baked goods that rival any grandmother's secret recipe. Fresh Fruit and Produce: Crisp-estate grown apples, seasonal stone fruit, and a dedicated tasting tent serving up crisp hard ciders for the grown-ups crafted directly from their mountain orchards. The sweeping grassland backdrop and orchard views make it a prime spot to spread out a blanket and soak in the Sierra Foothill breeze. Lines for the doughnut shack build fast. Arrive and grab a box of a dozen (you will regret buying just six) and secure a spot before crowds swarm. Rainbow Orchards delivers an unbeatable, sweet-toothed sliced of farm country charm.

Beautiful views that trail wrap around vineyards- the entrance is breathtaking! Small pop up booths of local vendors surround the orchard with cute gifts and souvenirs for the harvest season. They also have a fruit stand- & i love fresh fruit but the majority of the fruit here was split open and looking dull or brown in appearance like it was close to expiring. The lines were long for the cider donuts & sadly it didn't move fast. So I never got to try to cider donuts bc when I went it was almost one hr from closing. A lot of the pies were sorted through and the ones left were scattered in type and limited so decided not to take one home. And it was overall a smaller, more crowded stand then I expected with limited variety. Im sure they have great cider donuts- but I would recommend getting here first thing in the morning. This seems to be one of the more popular stands and parking can become complicated. I will have to give it another try to see a true experience because I feel like I didn't get to gather the true festive experience here.
