It has become a regular treat whenever we travel into Falmouth for appointments to stop at the Falmouth Fish market on the way home to pick up carry out. They have a full lineup of fish to choose from, so if you are grilling or cooking in the oven and fish is what you want, this is the place to go. Falmouth Fish Market is an amazing little seafood market. As you walk in you are greeted by some people that love their job and want you to have a great meal. There is plenty of seafood to take home and cook but we wanted some prepared food to take and eat in our car since there is no seating inside or outside. I was hesitant to order the lobster roll, but Alissa convinced me to try it since it was one of her favorites. She was 100% right! Large chunks of lobster in a hot dog roll that tasted like it was right out of the sea. We also ordered the clam bellies and were perfectly cooked and with lots of flavor. They do have soda and tea to go along with your meal, and cape cod chips available for purchase. Came here for takeout, 5 stars for the calm strip platter with french fries and coleslaw. So glad we got 2, rather than share 1 because it was definitely high quality, simple, fresh, and delicious. There's no where to sit and eat, other than your car, so we opened the trunk and enjoyed our fresh fish fry. The coleslaw deserves 5 stars. You can tell it's homemade, and it's so yummy! Wish I had been given more. The clam strips were $11.95 each and were SO amazing. Really good for the price. It comes with super freshly fried fries, a ken's steakhouse tartar sauce, and ketchup packets upon request. This fish market is high quality, and you can tell by how it doesn't smell like fish in the store. We purchased take-out from this place and was nicely surprised. After losing faith in several local fried clam joints, the Falmouth Fish Market's fried clams finally helped us remember what summers in the Cape were about. Their clams were super fresh, fried just right, with fat little bellies. SO delicious!! We also ordered the clam chowder and it was good. Been going to this place for years. I never really had an issue, because usually the produce is great. Yesterday my family and I bought 4 lbs. of rotten steamers for $9.99. The following day the owner Dave saw the photos below and was asked about store credit and his reply was, " can you bring in your trash, so we can see the steamer?"; as if I was lying. Apparently these photos aren't enough. The owner seemed to more concerned with the lousy money. If i was a an old white lady he would have been more understanding. I've sampled four lobster rolls in the last four weeks on cape cod and the Falmouth Fish market was my favorite. The dressing was light but enhanced the lobster flavor, unlike the bland dressings on all the other rolls I tried this month. Bought two containers of frozen chopped clams. When they defrosted, the amount of clam was less than half of the frozen product. I asked when I purchased the clams if each container had a pound of clams for $8.99. I was told it was. We measured after defrosting and the total amount of clams was 18 ounces (still wet!).
