I'm not one to write reviews, but I felt compelled to this time. It was me and my partner's first time visiting Las Brisas. We planned for brunch on Valentine's Day around 11am. We were sat in a booth in the corner of one of the dining rooms. I specially requested a window seat when I made my reservation. I decided to mention my request to one of the hostesses at the entrance. She replied with "Everyone has special requests and no changes can be made to seating." After being told that, I sat back down and watched multiple parties of 2 be sat at the many available window table while we were the only couple seated in the corner with no beach view. This was very disappointed as the beautiful view was one of the main attractions to come try Las Brisas. I thought the food was good, French toast was excellent. The chimichurri for the steak was delicious! Only complaint I have is the small portion sizes. For almost $80, I expected more than a few strips of steak and flavorless eggs. Our service was good. Nothing stood out but our waiters were helpful and friendly. Check it out for yourself, but I won't again. read more

Honestly, I don't do this a lot but this place was pretty horrible 0/10. The filet took a full hour to prepare which worried me, and once it arrived my worries were confirmed. Overdone and mangled and definitely was a ribeye.. For reference, I asked for medium on the steak as-well. I got the gratin potatoes and broccolini on the side. The gratin potatoes were cold and had some weird combination of green peppers and onions all over it, couldn't even tell what was underneath it all. The broccolini unfortunately never showed up to the party. We got the halibut as-well and sent that back, horrible and frozen. The only somewhat edible things were the risotto which looked questionable and the chicken which was paired with some breakfast potatoes. Don't get me started on the charcuterie board, BAD. Completely spoiled meat. On top of it all, the service was slow as hell. Again, 0/10. Go here for a view and some water because even the drinks are meh. read more

Food was amazing; service was even better. We ordered oysters that were so fresh, consider our cravings satisfied! We got the Halibut Special and the Steak and Lobster Special. Both were delicious, especially the avocado sauce for the Halibut. Only complaint was the lobster being a bit too chewy. The blueberry jalapeño marg and spicy espresso martini were also quite tasty. 5/5 stars for Brian. He was super attentive and made sure we had the best experience there. We visited Las Brisas in Laguna Beach to celebrate my mom's birthday and spent $278 on four prix-fixe, 4 course meals. + 2 orders of bottomless mimosas. Honestly, the view and the complimentary Mexican bread were the highlights. The rest of the experience was disappointing. The food itself was very underwhelming. My boyfriend ordered the chilaquiles, which tasted like chips in bland tomato sauce -- no depth, no spice, just flat. For a restaurant claiming to offer Mexican-inspired cuisine, the flavors were severely lacking. It seems to cater more to a touristy, non-local crowd than those actually looking for authentic or bold flavor. Cleanliness was also a concern. There was a small dead bug on our table (see photo), which was unsettling, and the bathrooms were out of soap twice out of the three times I went. It was never refilled, even after mentioning it -- and that's a basic hygiene issue in any restaurant, let alone one with these prices. 4.5 stars! Went for Sunday brunch to celebrate our engagement. Everyone was very sweet and congratulated us. They gave us complimentary cheesecake with a candle. The weekend brunch menu is a prix fixe. Starts with sweet bread, fruit, appetizer, main dish, dessert. I loved my Caesar salad. It was flavorful and fresh. We got crab omelet and suadero baked eggs. They were generous with the crab!! Amazing. The suadero was flavorful, savory and the eggs cooked to perfection. The fruit was not too ripe but oh well. We got both the gelato and flan for dessert. Loved the flan. Drinks were tasty. My fiancé got a Bloody Mary and I got a mojito. Wasn't too strong. We sat outside because we wanted to get the view. Only reason this even gets a star is because our server Omar absolutely KILLED it. He was super friendly, making jokes, and just overall made the experience dining at this place at least bearable. That being said, took my family out for Mother's Day celebration (mind you, it was supposed to be a special one because it was my wife's very first Mother's Day celebration) w our 7mth old kiddo. Had a reservation at 5:30. Got there at 5:20 but didn't get seated until 6pm... the girl checking us in seemed blankly rude and when I asked how long I had to wait (which is kind of a ridiculous question in itself because we HAD A RESERVATION), this other girl was saying some spiel about how this restaurant is "like a Disneyland because people have to wait in line" and how "we usually have a 2 hr maximum but I guess people decided to stay longer than 2 hours today"... just admit yall overbooked and you guys can't accommodate. I think some of the reviews are true. It's a pretty poorly run restaurant and whoever the hiring manager is needs to step up their game. And then once we got seated, we ordered a drink which was severely water-downed and barely had any drink (which they charged $20 for. lol). We then ordered calamari as an appetizer and I swear it was premade and supposed to be served to someone else but got taken back and was just sitting at the counter because that thing was almost cold and hard to chew... that was about the only thing that came out relatively fast. Then the food we ordered came like 40 min later and was either super salty or super bland. I legit can't believe this restaurant is charging upscale restaurant prices for food that seemed to have been microwaved. In words of a friend of mine who described this place, "it's literally the biggest rip off I've ever seen" Maybe it was literally just because it was Mother's Day rush and it was just an overwhelming day for them. Even giving them the benefit of the doubt, safe to say, we will never come back to find out. read more

Our entrees were made well, the filet mignon and the scallops tasted well seasoned, but our sides were okay. I would rate the steak and seafood as a 4 and our sides a 2 or 3 star. Our glazed carrots and broccoli were so hard, basically didn't really taste cooked. The sauces on the veggies were good, but my goodness the plating was awful. Why does my broccoli look like someone took a napkin and did a poor plating wipe; it could even be someone wiping it with their hand- gross. And it looked like someone just threw the carrots in the plate and gave it to us. The charcuterie board was delicious and so was my Paloma. Service was basic, he did his job and took our order and that's about it. There is valet parking but it does get full, so there is metered parking. The views are great, but ambiance of the restaurant is lackluster. I would not recommend for any special occasion. read more

Extra $25 for bottomless mimosas. Not bad seeing as how ONE DRINK IS 15+ here. Ok so the views are AMAZING!!! Seriously feels like a part of Italy I visited. So gorgeous out here. Very busy in the summer and all metered parking. This place does have valet in the back apparently. I didn't see any signs though so I end up finding my own spot at a meter not too far away. So much foot traffic here to get to the beach as well. This spot is small. Has a decent sized outdoor seating. Seating is pretty close to each other but not too crazy where we sat at. Ordered the pozole verde, chilaquiles, and traditional flan. The food here is very mediocre. They're definitely paying for the views because it's not obviously worth it to come here for just the food. Prices were very over priced because of location. So very disappointing. Let me focus on the pluses: the view - phenomenal! Incredible! The valet saw my phone was still in the car, so he ensured it was locked up tight! The street corn was pretty good! Service was excellent! But the meal itself was way off. My wife had the stuffed shrimp and crab rellano. Appeared to be overcooked and could see or tasted very few shrimp or crab meet. My chicken mole enchiladas were ok. Appetizer of guacamole was bland and I assume from a bag. To be fair it was happy hour guacamole. The chips were also stale. We were here for our anniversary, so the view was important. Now that we've been here, we can check it off our list. Doubtful return, too pricey for how disappointing the food was. read more

The waitress. Was very sweet. I have been coming here for my birthday with my gram since I was 12hrs old. I can where for my 58th birthday with my husband, the server tried really hard. She was very sweet, but my salmon was served skin up and not knowing I took my first bite. Was full of skin and salmon. It ruined the rest of my meal. The service in the beginning took a long time for us to get our order in, but it was a Saturday night, so it was OK. Extremely disappointed this used to be such a first class restaurant, but it was a average meal at best. Las Brisas do better your reputation is everything I did speak with the manager, and I told him about the chefs mistake. He apologized and offered to comp my meal, but that's not what I wanted. Service was pretty much all around terrible, in total there was only two people we thought were doing good, but that is it. Would definitely go here for mainly the view of the ocean. You can get that both indoor and outdoors here. Perfect spot for watching the sunset. If I had to compare these dishes to other restaurants, they were just okay. The fries were unfortunately soggy, which was a bit surprising. Despite that the halibut was cooked well. Wanted to order an espresso martini but I as told it would be made with chocolate liquor and couldn't modify it. I was appreciative that the waiter told me this in advance, otherwise I would've sent it back. The service was great. Was able to make a rsvp here. There's street and valet parking. I tried Las Brisas on a recent trip to Laguna Beach, recommended by my sister since her and her family have been going there for years. There is only street parking, but we were lucky enough to find a spot right at the front. The plan was to take a walk and have dinner before heading back home so it worked out it perfect. Once we were ready to have dinner, there was not a long wait. We entered the restaurant and it did look somewhat outdated but I feel as it is part of the restaurant's charming. We asked to be seated at the patio. As soon as we sat, we noticed a better table was unoccupied so we asked the waiter if we could move and happily accommodated. That elevated the visit one hundred percent. I couldn't stop seeing how nice the view was. We ordered water, drinks, enchiladas and chile relleno. The food was good, but my favorite part was the view. After dinner we walked around and even experienced an elaborated proposal. If you visit, you must seat at the patio. The restaurant is right at the corner and beginning of a walkway so it is very enjoyable. read more

Well a large group of us went on Friday afternoon for a work event and sat on the patio. First and foremost we had the most amazing server - he was so attentive to each one of us at the two tables asking us if we would like a cocktail or drink many times never leaving us thirst or wanting something. The other servers came by always adding fresh ice water to the two large tables as well . My drink was Aperol Spritz . We did after 1 1/2 hours out our lunch order in and did receive our food order after being there 2 1/2 hours so we were all pretty hungry and by the 3rd hour we received our desert. I had a soup to start and the lobster and steak enchiladas- that day I was eating light and just ate my lobster enchilada and I can say it was pretty good . For desert they served a choice of flan or chocolate cake with filling and raspberry drizzle. The cake was light and quite large great for two . We sat outside on the patio with the most amazing Laguna Beach View worth a million dollars. They offer valet parking IF you are lucky enough to get Valet if the lot is not FULL . If it is just drive around and wish for your own parking Angels like I do as we found meter parking only 6 spaces away from the door . The meter was $10 for 4 hours . Over all if you enjoy spicy Mexican flair food not your typical menu come to Las Brisa's , The severs are amazing - 5-5 The food 3-5 Drinks 4-5 They do have a pretty good selection. My sister ordered a margarita. I'm glad I didn't I don't like them on the rocks . Ambiance 5-5 Best there is in Laguna Beach for sure . I ordered the steak and lobster enchiladas. Unfortunately, the lobster enchilada was very unsettling and not fresh. It even smelled SO bad when they served it that the couple next door to us noticed. I mistakingly took a bite and I honestly had to throw up in the bathroom right away since it was so bad. The waiters took it back immediately, and did not charge me for it. We went to Las Brisas for lunch and had a really great time! The view is absolutely incredible--honestly, probably the best ocean view we've experienced at any restaurant in Laguna Beach. It's such a beautiful spot, and it's right next to a lovely rose garden which adds to the whole experience. The food is Mexican-influenced--nothing too impressive taste-wise, but still decent. That said, the atmosphere, the service, and that view totally make up for it. I'm giving it five stars for the overall vibe. Growing up, I had this intense need and want of a memory when I was younger. A memory of a restaurant near the beach, and nachos that I forever remember as being the best nachos. Just with the exact cheese I like. Ones that I couldn't find anywhere else on my journey growing up. One day I finally remembered to ask my parents, thinking that they wouldn't remember. But they did. And so we went for a nice weekend brunch out. I was devastated to hear that they no longer made those nachos. And that you could request, but only ahead of time or some other thing. That said, my family and I still had a great time, my mom enjoying the seafood and my father enjoying the steak. Of course, all of us enjoying the company, view, and service. But I was stubborn, I had to figure out a way to get them again. Those nachos. So a different day, my partner wanted a nice day out and I suggested here. We went, and this was the trip that these pictures are from. It was not busy, we were seated quick, and though we changed our seating a few times, they were nice and the server was kind. More than kind actually, because as he came around to get my order, I couldn't help but ask about those nachos. It seems that after popular demand, they did have the nachos. But only at the bar. I couldn't believe it. Of course I didn't want to just get up and leave the server, so I just said we'd order what we meant to order anyways, and then head to the bar after for nachos. The server looked at me and said "let me see what I can do." Lo and behold, I got my nachos, my partner's ceviche, and my beef carpaccio at my table. So easy enough to say, the view is to die for, the restaurant looks alright since the interior gives me a stuffy feeling sometimes (they had not updated their looks much). The service was way too great. And though my child brain built these nachos up too much, I was still transported to that childlike happiness after achieving to find/have them. The location of the restaurant is very nice as it has stairs down to the beach. We came for a birthday brunch and the service was alright nothing special and drinks took awhile. We did not enjoy our food or dining experience. We went there to celebrate my step-daughter's 20th birthday. We were seated in a corner on a very crowded patio. The view of the ocean was minimal and we were packed into this corner. There was minimal room to get to our table & chairs, and it was apparent by a couple seated next to us. They opted to move their table over so we could have room to pull our chairs out to sit down. The service was terrible. We were at the restaurant for just over 2 hours - the whole 2 hours was waiting for our food, drinks, & birthday dessert. The waiter hardly checked on us, and never asked how we liked the food. I ordered the chef's salad with chicken & it was the worst salad I've ever had. The dressing was awful & pre tossed. I only ate the chicken and left the rest of the salad. The most disappointing part was when we realized my step-daughter's dinner was taken away and not put in a to-go box. She ordered the surf & turf enchiladas and ate half of an enchilada and wanted the rest to go home. Once her birthday cheesecake arrived, I placed my own "2" & "0" candles on the cake & got my camera out for a photo. While our family was paying attention to the birthday girl with her birthday dessert, that's when a staff member took the enchilada plate without asking us if we wanted the remaining food to- go. As the sun set, the corner we were in became dark & there was minimal light on the patio. We were seated against a wall/ pillar that had a gas lantern, but the staff never lit it. While seated outside, a large spider crawled on the pilar behind my other step daughter's seat (shes afraid of them) and it was killed by the birthday girl. We were also bitten by mosquitoes. It understandable being outside, however it just added to an already poor dining experience. The food wasn't worth the price and we collectively agreed we would not return to this restaurant. read more

First time here and pretty underwhelmed. If they didn't have a killer view, I wouldn't recommend the food here. Started with chips/salsa and it was standard stuff. It came with both red and green salsa, which was nice, but a little salt would go a long way. My fish tacos were also pretty bland, but the accompanying pickled veggies were great. I put them on the tacos to wake them up and saved the dish. I guess I missed it, but the tacos don't come with a side. 2 small tacos for $22 is a terrible value and won't fill anyone up. Fries were $8, so if I would have paid $30 for an unforgettable lunch, I would have been more pissed. read more
