BUTTER POACHED LOBSTER

Whoever is part of the hiring staff must definitely be on something because who hired these people!!! TLDR: Amazing beach view, kind server doing his best, but overall disorganized service, long waits, and mediocre food. Great place for pictures -- maybe eat beforehand. First off, I genuinely felt bad for our server because he seemed overwhelmed and was taking the heat for issues that clearly went beyond one person. He stayed patient, respectful, and kind the entire time, which we appreciated. The manager, however, seemed more focused on shifting blame to the server and kitchen staff rather than acknowledging the obvious lack of communication and organization overall. When she went down to "check on us" it didn't seem like she wanted to speak to us and was kind of just walking around "waiting" to be flagged down. There were other several angry tables as well. To their credit, they did offer complimentary dessert and reduced our bill by about 50%, which we appreciated. Ambiance: Honestly, the best part of the experience and probably the only reason why they get 2 stars (and some for our kind server). Beautiful beach view and plenty of spots nearby to walk around and take cute pictures while waiting for your food... and waiting... and waiting. Service: We sat down and weren't offered water for quite a while. Our server was difficult to find throughout dinner, and we had to flag someone down multiple times just to place orders, get water, utensils, etc. I'm assuming he was stretched thin with too many tables. Some of us had no utensils or napkins and ended up improvising with appetizer forks and spoons from the oysters. One person finally received a fork after everyone else had already finished eating. Asking bussers for help was unfortunately pointless because they rarely came back. We were also told the general manager would come speak with us after our concerns were brought up, but that never happened. Food: Everything took an extremely long time to arrive, including drinks -- we actually canceled some because they took so long. Most dishes came out lukewarm or cold. The seafood risotto was bland, the "rare" ribeye came out medium-well and overly salty, and there were several order mix-ups. At one point, we received two orders of guac and salsa when we only ordered one. When we mentioned it, the busser casually said "it's okay" and left them on the table anyway. Thankfully our server later clarified we wouldn't be charged for the extra order.

After visiting Laguna Beach for over 33 years, I finally decided to dine at Las Brisas--and it exceeded every expectation I had. I made a 2:00 PM reservation on a Wednesday and was seated immediately at a table with a breathtaking ocean view. The ambiance alone is worth the visit, but what truly stood out was the overall dining experience. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and refreshingly genuine. Instead of steering us toward the most expensive items on the menu, he offered thoughtful recommendations based on quality and flavor--which I really appreciated. We ordered the lobster enchiladas and the shrimp tampiqueños, and both dishes were exceptional. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, but the highlight was easily the white wine garlic sauce on the tampiqueños--it was absolutely outstanding. To finish, we had the cheesecake, which was the perfect ending to an already incredible meal. Between the stunning views, excellent service, and truly memorable food, Las Brisas has earned a new regular customer. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Good coastal views, service, and food! We were able to grab a reservation with short notice on a Friday night. It was my first time here and I loved the seafood risotto. However I think it is overpriced

It's an expensive place with a good view of the ocean. But that's where it ends. Tomato soup was good, but it came out warm at best. When I asked for pepper... the server said,"there's enough pepper on it." Since when does a waiter say something like that? Just bring the pepper for my cold food. Veracruz fish came out cold and bland with no flavor. Some type of flavorless scallop potatoes came out cold. The service was pretty much MIA. Our drinks sat empty most of the time we were there. Overall, won't return

Went for brunch and the next day for dinner. Service was fantastic! Food was good. Chicken flautas were delicious. For brunch we had avocado toast. It was pretty decent. Great for families or if you have a large party.

Parking options include the valley lot and street parking. While reservations are highly recommended, they're not mandatory. The bar offers first-come, first-served seating, and there's a small patio outside. This place is great for groups and families. We had brunch on a Saturday, and the service was fantastic. Our server was attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. The menu caters to all tastes, and the bar offers full service. If you're in the area, this is a must-try spot.

Received excellent customer service and energy today! Server Ashley ensured to greet us with a warm welcome, food recommendations and prompt service. She ensured that I received extra lemons for my calamari and made my group feel welcomed on this busy memorial weekend!

We just popped in because we always end up parking close by and the vistas are one of our favorite places on God's green earth to visit. My glass of French rose and Amy's red sangria paired perfectly with the setting sun, views of the ocean and palm trees along with the appetizers: chicken flautas and bbq spare ribs. Make sure you stop here next time you're in town.

We wanted to find a beachfront romantic restaurant and Las Brisas at Laguna Beach was perfect. We made sure our reservations were in time for the sunset with outdoor seating. Parking is very difficult between 5p-6p on a Saturday night in April so make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes early. We were seated right away and our server Danira was great. Very genuine and attentive. We ordered Cadillac Margarita and a Thyme for shine ( gin cocktail). Both were tastee. The guacamole for appetizer wasn't the best, I would suggest not to order it. For dinner we had the filet and it was excellent. I had the chicken mole enchiladas and they were great too. The view baby the ocean made the whole night amazing. I would come back for sure.

We originally had lunch plans here, but there was a wedding that day and they could not guarantee a good window table, so we ended up going somewhere else for lunch. We still wanted to enjoy the view though, so we came back later for drinks and a few snacks. This place truly has one of the best views in Laguna Beach. Even though it was a little windy day, it was still really nice sitting outside on the patio and enjoying the scenery. The location alone makes it worth a stop.

This was our first time here, and unfortunately, it will be our last. The service was very slow, even though there were barely any customers when we visited. Our food took a long time to come out, which was disappointing. The prices do not match the quality of the food. Everything we ordered fell short--the food simply did not taste good. My beef taco was especially disappointing; the meat was chewy and unpleasant. The cheeseburger was plain and underwhelming, and the fries were overly salty. The $20 "strawberries and cream" cocktail was also a letdown--it tasted bad and was not worth the price. The only redeeming part of this place is the ocean view. Other than that, it doesn't offer much value for what they charge.

$32? Crab omelette. Dry.

Excellent service, beautiful view. Food was just OK. Quite expensive for what it was. $460 for the. Eight of us. Don't bother with the cornbread, you get a few tiny pucks. No taste.

Ask the Community - Las Brisas

Do they offer gluten free and dairy free options?

Yes

Do they have high chairs for babies/toddlers?

Yes we do!

What arrangements are there for handicap/disabled parking?

Valet but you need to get there early for it because it will fill up. Or you can look for street public parking.

What is available for kids at the weekend brunch? There's only one "weekend brunch" menu listed on the website and it's for a four course prix fixe menu. Nothing listed for kids.

Check out the website. The info you need is there.

Do you guys serve brunch on Friday's?

No, only Sat and Sun.

Are the rice & beans vegan? Also the sorbet trio?

You can cook beans with lard, which would make it not vegan.

Is there a corkage fee?

$25 per standard size bottle and maximum of two

Is it possible to have drinks and appetizers on the patio still? We were told we had to have a dinner reservation in order to sit on the patio. Seemed very strange.

You can if they are not too busy- you can also make a reservation and request to be seated on the patio.

I have a reservation tomorrow 6/29 at 5 pm for a party of 8 under Agnes Sugino on OpenTable. I called earlier but there's no one answering the phone. I'm requesting a table outside for our party of 8 if that's possible?

Possible but I wouldn't count on it. I reserved a table with a view 2 weeks beforehand and got the worse view ever and service was terrible! Oh, and their front desk was bad too. I called to ask about valet and they were no help at all. Good luck… Read more

How is the parking there?

Valet parking is the way to go. It's tuff to find parking unless you go early.

Which food options are available on the kid menu?

Fish and chips, chicken tenders

Will they utilize heat lamps during lunch if it is cold and customer requests?

Do they have mothers day brunch?

Yes, check out website

Where's the best table? May I reserve this table?

The best table -- without a doubt -- is located inside the restaurant just to the left of the hostess stand. It's nicely way from the very busy kitchen door. The lighting at this table is excellent too. When you call, make sure you request the best… Read more

Accept walk in?

Yes

Thinking of walking on the beach below or browsing nearby shops after brunch. How long can you park there if you valet? Hoping to not have to move the car after brunch.

Parking is a 2 hour limit

Does Las brisas offer gluten free/celiac friendly items on the menu?

Yes they do!

Is there a dress code?

No. Come as you are dresses.

Yelp says you are dog friendly. Can I bring my well behaved , leashed senior pug with me? Thank you, Howard!

dressed. Outdoor seating, yes

When will the Christmas Day Menu be posted? Will it be Pre Fixe? Brunch? My reservation is for 2:00. Thank you!

Hello We are doing a 3 course set menu $89 per person, the menu will be posted shortly or you can call 949 497 5434

To put it simply: this is the kind of place Laguna has been missing. From the moment we walked in, the energy felt dialed-in in a way that immediately reminded me of a Hillstone experience -- polished but not pretentious, lively but still intimate. That balance is incredibly hard to execute, and Nix nails it. For context, I'm part owner of 230 Forest Avenue, so I don't say this lightly: Nix easily lands in my top five in Laguna Beach. We started with Aperol spritzes (perfectly balanced, not overly sweet), along with a couple of appetizers -- including a fried asparagus dish that was addictive in the best way. Crisp, flavorful, and gone way too quickly. For mains, I ordered the veggie burger, which was genuinely one of the best I've had -- hearty, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully constructed (not an afterthought, which vegetarian options so often are). My boyfriend had the noodle salad, which was fresh, vibrant, and layered with flavor. But beyond the food, what really stood out was the overall experience. The atmosphere feels intentional , great music, beautiful crowd, and a buzz that makes you want to linger. It's the kind of place where dinner effortlessly turns into drinks, and drinks turn into "should we just stay a little longer?" Laguna Beach doesn't have a ton of restaurants that hit this level across the board -- food, service, ambiance, and energy, but Nix absolutely does. We'll be back, and soon.

Then came the artichoke appetizer and the soup of the day... and honestly, I could've stopped there and been happy. But we powered through like professionals and went for a late lunch entrée, the Chilean sea bass- and WOW. Worth every bite. And shoutout to our server and the entire staff, total pros. Super polished, attentive, and clearly know what they're doing without being over the top. If you're looking for amazing food with a cool, laid-back vibe, Nick's is your spot. The food was all so delicious. For appetizers we ordered the White Mexican Shrimp & Chilean Sea Bass Ceviche, the Rosemary Focaccia Bread, and a cup of their Seafood Chowder. The Ceviche was fresh and packed with flavor. The Focaccia was so fluffy and was served with a delicious whipped honey butter. For my entree I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle. The chunk of short rib was massive and the creme fraise really tied all the elements of the dish together. My friends ordered the Wild Caught Chilean Sea Bass and American Wagyu Beef Burger. Both were yummy. Overall the food, service, and ambiance were top notch. Will definitely be back.

The lobster bisque, Parkhouse rolls, octopus, the special of the day, which was tuna Hamachi. We also ordered the scallops, mushrooms, green beans, mashed potatoes and sea bass. The items that stood out the most were the lobster bisque. the Parkhouse rolls, the Seabass, the scallops and the Hamachi tuna. I was taken back that the octopus was fried and it was tough and had an interesting flavor. I'm used to octopus legs being grilled and tender, so I was quite disappointed with that. We also ordered a couple of cocktails that we weren't thrilled about. The flavors didn't work well together in the drink, but I did like how the glasses were ice cold I just wish the cocktails were more impressive. I feel like that's the gift and the curse. When you have a restaurant that is oceanfront. Typically oceanfront restaurants their food isn't that great because it doesn't have to be because of the ambience. The only place I've ever been where they had the oceanfront location and the food was amazing was Nobu Malibu specifically. I wouldn't mind coming back here for some light bites like I mentioned the lobster bisque and the rolls were tasty. Everything else was good, but not great for the price point.
