I tried Los Dos Maria in Redding after a lot of people recommended their burritos. I ordered two burritos and asked for a lot of jalapeños and hot sauce, but both burritos ended up being pretty mild and didn't have much jalapeño. Between the two, the carne asada burrito had better flavor than the pulled pork. The pulled pork burrito had way more beans than meat, which was a little disappointing. On the positive side, the restaurant was very clean, and the staff was friendly and nice. Overall, it wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to the hype for me. I'd give it a 3 out of 5. read more

The food was absolutely amazing. The ambience is nice. The service was phenomenal. It felt like being at home. The chili Rellano was the best I've had enchilada and the tamale absolutely delicious. Would recommend to anybody. read more

To start this couple is truly the kindest set of human beings you will ever meet. First thing you figure out when you walk in is that you are treated as family. Their shrimp burrito is the best in town! So much she remembers my order everytime. Her horchata is fresh and homemade, the cook is consistent everytime. Some of the best Mexican food and you will have a heart to heart experience with the folks that run it and own it! read more

So yummy! We stopped by here on the way to Crater Lake, it is a small family style Mexican restaurant, the lady at the cashier is so friendly and patiently waiting for us to decide what to order. We ordered Cajun Shrimp Burrito, Carnitas and Asada Carne Toco combo, everything is sooooo yummy!!!! Highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

I'm not sure if it was Maria who served us but she was incredibly sweet and the food came out really fast. As a Mexican who grew up in Southern California it's really hard to find quality mexican food up here but they surpassed my expectations. The tamales especially really impressed me, the masa was moist and the chile con carne was flavorful and tender. The rice was also very tasty. 10/10 recommend. read more

I truly regret spending ~$10 on a "Chile verde burrito" that literally just taste like a bean burrito with a small handful of pieces of meat. I am struggling to eat it because all the beans are just flowing to the bottom when I hold the burrito vertically. The burrito itself is poorly wrapped and so loose. My wife and I have been going to Los Dos Maria's for about 8 yrs now have never had a bad meal very very reasonably priced for the amount of delicious food you get. Yesterday we ordered two dozen tamales for the 24 hrs notice. We picked them up today still piping hot. They are delicious the best tamales we've had in a very very long time. Lots of flavor and very moist. Definitely will be doing this more often. read more

Best hidden gem in Redding!!! I had the California burrito and chips. Chips weren't salted like most places, which I appreciated. Ingredients were well portioned and fresh. I tried last dos Maria's for the first time as I recently moved close by. The place is so delicious! I had the shrimp tacos. The shrimp was well flavored with the perfect blends of herbs and lime. The rice and beans were really delicious too! The price for the meal was about 15 bucks, definitely worth the price! read more

This is one of my favorite lunch spots. Customer service is always on point. I usually get a burrito, but you can venture off and get anything. I am normally a pretty picky eater, but this place makes me feel safe ordering anything. The quality is out of this world. Great food! Highly recommended!! Had a day off in Redding and wanted Mexican food. We really enjoyed Las Dos Marias. Everything we ate was delicious. After trying the salsa we ordered, we knew we'd enjoy the meal. Items ordered and consumed include: Carnitas Enchiladas Chicken Enchiladas Carne Asada Taco Carnitas Taco Chicken Quesadilla Horchata (I think this was made in house, not sure, but especially good either way) If we're ever in Redding again, we'll most definitely return here. read more

Wow! We ordered 150 breakfast burritos for a celebration of life event and everyone loved them! Maria and her husband cook everything and customized the burritos to our liking, including individually packing the burritos and salsa for all! The burritos were amazing but also the salsa was so good we had people asking all day where was it from? Maria was so kind during this very difficult planning time and worked with us to get it all picked up and there on a day she wasn't even normally open! They went above and beyond and everything was amazing! Thank you so much read more

Just had the fish taco combo special and chile rellano burrito today and they were delicious and gave me my authentic burrito and fish taco fix. The fish was grilled perfectly and taste was fresh. The taco was more authentic style, so it wasn't loaded with cabbage with dressing and mango salsa or some trendy shit like that (which I do enjoy but it's really hard to beat a perfectly done authentic fish taco). Only $5.25 for 2 tacos and rice and bean combo. Chile Rellano burrito was very tasty as well. Chile rellanos are traditionally use very mild peppers and are not spicy. This one had a very good, fresh flavo and was battered, fried and stuffed with cheese and stuffed in the burrito. It was delicious. Who can make a good Chile Rellano burrito? Las Dos Marias, amigo. Mother and daughter working with big friendly smiles and eager to please, just like the previous 2 times. I believe these are the "Dos Marias" that are being referred to in the name of said establishment... just a wild guess, could be wrong. Now, Redding, lets talk about something important: This was my 3rd time in 1 week and I've only seen 1 other customer in here. THIS IS NOT COOL, COMPRENDE? I'm making it my mission to make sure this Las Dos Marias gets found out and stays in business for many years. When Jehova Witnesses come to my door I will say "Hey that doomsday and eternal damnation stuff is truly scary shit and all, but let me tell you about the gospel of Las Dos Santa Marias... Jehova wants to witness you make communion with this blessed vessel" When the cashier at Trader Joe's inevitably asks me this weekend "did you find everything alright?" I will say "No! I did not find Las Dos Marias next to the roasted garlic hummus!" When I go to another restaurant and the waiter asks me for my order I will ask for a Las Dos Shrimp Burrito with their Chipotle salsa and an horchata. Don't mess this up for me, Redding. read more

How did I not know this place exists? I haven't been here since it was a satellite La Cabana location so, after seeing that it got the endorsement of one Buzz F., I decided to give it a try. I had the carne asada tacos and they were some of the best I've had locally. The meat is nice and tender and seasoned just right. I'll add my two cents here about the lack of patronage. I did a "drive by" and when I saw no customers, I almost chickened out. I hate being the only one in a restaurant. But I screwed up my courage and took the plunge. Boy, am I glad I did! PROS: Delicious food. We arrived just as they'd opened, and we were the only people there besides the drive-thru customers. The chips and salsa are $1 each, but for $2 you get salsa that is very reminiscent of Chevy's salsa (YUM) and fresh tortilla chips. I ordered the shrimp burrito with no guac or salsa because I don't like onions. My mom ordered the steak tacos which reminded me of street tacos atop two soft corn tortillas, very tasty. My girls both had simple cheese quesadillas with rice and beans. I like that they used a white cheese instead of orange cheddar, they were mild and delicious. I may sound like a broken record since every review seems to echo the same sentiment, but the staff is SO friendly and accommodating. $26 total for four people. CONS: I asked for no guacamole or salsa because I don't like onions (yes, I ate the salsa, but I really just eat the juice, not the chunks). I have to assume the shrimp has been pre-marinated in something with onions, because they were still present in my burrito. I am giving this place 4 's because of the food and the service. Both were excellent. The loss of the 5th is for 3 reasons. Fix those and it will be 5 stars all the way! 1. Pepsi. What can I say, I'm a Coca-Cola drinker. 2. Chips and salsa. Chips were ok, salsa was great, however charging for salsa is just tacky. Most places have salsa bars where you can get as much as you want and it's free. This place charges $.99 for salsa refills. 3. Drinks. Menu says homemade iced tea. It should say fresh brewed Lipton. In addition I prefer a self serve drink station where I can mix my own drink and receive free refills. read more

I LOVE Dos Maria's! I can't get enough! I spent a few months in high school living in San Cristobal, Chiapas (southern Mexico) and I can honestly say that is is the most authentic tasting Mexican food I have had the pleasure of eating in the states. My absolute favorite are their chicken flautas, chile verde burrito, and chicken tostada salad. The staff are so lovely and sweet. I love coming here on my lunch break, it always feels like a mini vacation from the daily grind. Highly recommend! read more

I wish I would've taken photos but I ate it so fast I was so hungry. The waitresses were so nice and complimented my tattoos it was really cute! The restaurant was very clean and welcoming! Restaurants us clean and presentable. There are many places you can go in Redding and get the same quality or better and pay a lot less.
