Reasonably priced. My choice included fries. I'd had some earlier in the day on the road and did not feel like more. They kindly offered me a side salad as an alternative, which I accepted. I'm disappointed with my experience this time. I was greeted when I walked in, but after sitting at the bar because I wanted to order drinks, I was largely ignored. The bartender spent most of her time talking with another party and never checked on me or asked if I needed anything. Ironically, the bartender working today was Ashley's sister, which made the difference in service even more noticeable. Bomb food and bomb service!!! We had to charge the vehicle and kept walking and we found this gem! Salsa and chips and a bean, cactus pico salsa also which was a nice addition to our chips and salsa. We got a lunch special chicken enchilada and a chicken taco with rice and beans and dang so much food for 10.99. What a steal and they even topped us off with the salsa and bean mixture. I wish I would've taken photos but I ate it so fast I was so hungry. The waitresses were so nice and complimented my tattoos it was really cute! The restaurant was very clean and welcoming! Seriously, I have never tasted a more bland Chile Relleno in my life. The breading was mushy, tasteless, and undercooked. The chile was bland and the entire entree was a poor example of Mexican food. It's busy...a good sign always in my opinion. The servers here were extra friendly and attentive. The decor is also nice. I had the cazuela (first time having it, I'm a fan) which was flavorful and filling. Excellent comfort food. My friend had the grilled shrimp which I snuck a bite of and that was also delicious. I want to start off by saying this I have never made a Yelp view. But what happened here made me want to leave a review. Me and my dad go out to eat a lot and saying that I don't eat very much I usually eat off the kids menu and I have never had a problem with ordering off the kids menu, but at this place I did I asked for a kids taco and rice and they said they can't because I don't look 12 and I responded with I don't eat that much and their reply was that I need to order off of the other menu and I would get an extra scoop of rice for four dollars more to that I responded. Why do I wanna get more food when I won't eat it, it would just be going to waste. we even talked to a manager and she said the same thing that it would be the same exact food with an extra scoop of rice that I wouldn't eat for four dollars I do not recommend this place. I have never had a problem ordering off the kids menu. I have even been to this place before in ordered off the kids menu no problem. in the end, I ended up spending four dollars for my Coke. very disappointed in this place. Literally my favorite place to eat in Redding. I love the food, the service, the decor-Everything. I have ordered so many different things it's hard to say what my favorite thing is but rest assured whatever you order will be delicious. Thinking about it now is making me hungry! We had just hiked Mt Shasta and my wife wanted a Margarita. So after much searching, we ended up at Mazatlan in Redding. The atmosphere was lovely and we were seated in the fray...which was a good thing! We got the best waitress in the world.."Blanca" was very chill and very adept at anticipating our needs. It was really hoppin on a Thursday night at 5:15! All of the employees were friendly and helpful. I love the Mexican tiles! The food was cooked perfectly, as ordered. Everything was savory and tasty! One of my friends in Redding wanted to go out for Mexican food and I don't really know exactly where to go in Redding, so they picked Mazatlan Grill. It seems like a sort of more upscale Mexican place, rather than a casual taco joint. The menu has a wide varity of dishes for everybody. The one item that caught my eye was the Pescado Dorado (Mojarra) for $15.49 described as a Deep-fried whole fish served with rice, beans & tortillas. I love getting whole fishes to eat! Especially deep fried! My friend orders a regular combo with enchiladas beans and rice. When our food arrived I was so happy with the way it was presented. The skin was all fried crispy nice and the meat was seasoned perfect, not too salty of spicy. Yes, there were a lot of bones, but I don't mind, the tasty meat is worth it. With a name like Mazatlán, I expected Sinaloa style cuisine. Instead I was served a Chile relleno smothered in sour cream, chopped lettuce and tomato. Love this place! Always my favorite to get the fajitas and the fish bowl drinks are amazing! I have also tried the enchiladas and taco salad and those are of course good too! The service is always amazing and welcoming. Never had bad service and we come here quite often. The restaurant is loud and great to bring family and friends out for some drinks and yummy Mexican food. They are normally super busy at normal dinner hours, so I would advised to either go before 5 or after 8 to not have to wait. You may be able to catch them during the week, not so busy. read more

Visiting my sister from Las Vegas and decided to go have lunch with the family. Right of the bat service was amazing. Best wait staff I have experienced in quite a long time! The beans were different than anything else I have ever had but they were so good! I decided against just getting a combo for lunch it was way too much food for me. Our first visit to Mazatlan Grill for dinner yesterday did not go well. Hard to know where to start, but this will be in the order of what took place. The restaurant is colorful and noisy with what appears to be a large staff of waitresses, etc. We fairly quickly were approached and asked if we want to order drinks, we ordered cokes. Then the waitress reappeared to ask if we were ready to order so we ordered a Chimichanga with ground beef and a small combo plate with Enchilada a Chili Relleno then this is where things began to fail. The ground beef Chimichanga was a chicken Chimichanga. I insisted my partner return the order that was a mistake, however as my dinner arrived my partner just chose to deal with the fact that he did not receive the item he ordered, and he would eat the Chimichanga as it was, and then he came across a huge bone in the Chimichanga, gross! No waitress ever returned to ask how things were or if we need refills on our drinks. When I looked at the piece of paper that was the check there was no tray and no instructions in terms of if we should pay at the cashier. Again, the young man passed by, and he took my credit card. As to the check for the dinner, the amounts suggested for tipping was very high. Seriously they are kidding if they think the absence of quality service should receive any tip at all. We were driving through the area and came across this place. It's very attractive and festive. I love the music they played. It's traditional music you would hear during a charreada or during Las Fiestas. My hubby ordered the shrimp (al mojo de ajo). Honestly they didn't look pretty, but he loved them! I ordered the enchiladas. They too were yummy. My only complaint is that I wish I had a better knife to cut them with instead of a butter knife. I highly recommend this place. read more

This place lands firmly in the the pack of mid tier Redding Mexican establishments. The staff was reasonably friendly. The first basket of chips were stale, the second was fresher. Salsa was ok, nothing special to report. The cold pinto and pico mix was also just ok. I had a Modelo and asked for it in a cold salted glass and I was served a bottle. After asking a second time they brought me an unsalted glass. The beer was not very cold. I had the Al pastor plate and my date had carnitas. The rice and beans were flavorful as they should be. My Al pastor lacked color and flavor and was disappointing. The carnitas while having a nice rich pork flavor was very wet and lacked any crispness so it was more like boiled pulled pork. Overall this is a generic run of the mill place, nothing too special to see here. read more
