Try this place in Redding California because it had good reviews on yelp and I was pretty hungry for quality, authentic Mexican food. My fellow Yelpers did not let me down. The place was busy which is a good sign. Right away I noticed that the menu had some unique items like the California burrito, which had french fries and nacho cheese. Even though this place was very authentic, they did adapt to the predominately white area. Not a bad thing at all. I was having trouble deciding between a super burrito and a wet torta. The hostess, who was amazing by the way, suggested the torta, and she was spot on. It was basically a Carnitas sandwich covered in a spicy red sauce, and was absolutely delicious! My only complaint was that it wasn't spicy enough. And I say this because she asked me on spice level and I told her really hot because I like heat, but I think they're not used to that here and so it wasn't very spicy at all. The flavor was delicious though so not a real complaint. Came with a side of chips and salsa that was delicious as well. I'll definitely return here when I'm in the area. read more

I have had Los Cachorros Taqueria numerous times and their food has always been good. They have traditional Mexican food as well as Americanized Mexican food, such as the Cachorros Burrito that has French fries in it, of the dishes that have Flaming Hot Cheetos as an ingredient! Staff is always friendly and the restaurant is kept clean. Great place to go for a quick lunch. read more

The Carnitas Mexicanas Plate was outstanding. And the handmade tortilla shells were a pleasant surprise. The hot sauce has both great flavor and kick. The server was friendly and the granite table tops are a beautiful addition to the ambiance. I would definitely go back. read more

Fantastic food and service. I had three tacos--chicken, beef, and shrimp. The shrimp was amazing although I'm not a fan of creamy sauces. But this creamy sauce tasted great. Chips and salsa were fresh. And even the rice and beans tasted good. I was happy to see horchata included in the fountain beverages, all you can drink. Service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was immaculately clean. This restaurant doesn't have great curb appeal and it's a bit off the beaten path. Love this place! I went for the first time last week and was pleasantly surprised. It is a family owned and operated restaurant. I got to meet the owner, who was kind and helpful. The food tasted great and they brought out chips and salsa for our tables. The restaurant has a large, open area that is nice. One thing I would have liked to see is a self serve area where they have different sauces and veggies. I have seen set ups like this at other restaurants and was hoping to see it here. read more

Finally good Mexican food in Redding! I have lived in Redding for 3 years and so far I have hated every Mexican restaurant in town. Being part Mexican myself and living in LA for a while, I have high standards. I was thinking I may never have good Mexican food her until a coworker recommended los cacharros. My lips are still burning from the salsa, a good burn. The salsa had actual heat! Everything had complex flavor like real Mexican food should instead of just salt. Redding is 95 percent white, so maybe other restaurants are catering to their demographic. I am so happy I found this place! I feel like I'm eating my grandmas home made food again. This is even more wonderful as my grandma is currently dying and I know I'll never get a chance to eat her home cooking again. Tears of joy. read more

The service was very good. Was greeted right away and helped when we had questions. I do admit that I was turned off with the menu prices and the fact that you have to pay extra for handmade tortillas and was the main reason for my visit. I got 4 carne asada tacos and paid the extra for the hand made. The meat was soft and felt like under seasoned. The portions were great the main reason why I enjoyed it. But I do wish the meat was more cooked and tasted like seasoning. read more

I came to Redding 8 years ago from Texas and I honestly had all but given up on finding a great taco spot. I have been to quite a few others and always been disappointed. I decided to try Los cachorros on a whim when I was by orchard thinking I would have some thing that was ok, but not amazing. I ended up finding a gem! Hands down the best tacos I've had in Redding. I got the Taquesos with homemade tortillas Grandpa's special meat. 'Twas amazingly flavorful with the right balance of cheese, meat, cilantro, onion, and etc. Don't sleep on Los Cachorros. Los Cachorros Taqueria just won me over for best Mexican food in Redding. Went in based off a recommendation from a friend and now will be passing the word along to others. Service/Friendliness: 4.5 Stars Atmosphere: 3 Stars Presentation: 4.5 Stars Flavor/Texture & Quality : 4.5 Stars Staff was extremely friendly, checking in on us multiple times throughout the meal. I believe they may have had a new trainee take our order. She knocked it out of the park, welcomed us in from the get go and gave us some great suggestions. The Wet Burrito with half green sauce and half red sauce was perfectly seasoned and presented. I had my first birria in Tucson in December and couldn't wait to get home to find some in Redding. We got the birria tacos and the quesabirria here. We spent $50 with a tip for what seemed like a fast food order. The tacos were not crisp and too thick. The meat was tasteless. The salsa was flavorless and thin. The quesabirria was okay, but the meat was bland and not worth $18. The bowl of 'birria' for dipping was lukewarm and absolutely tasteless and had no richness you would expect if prepared properly. The service was pretty slow. The waitress was nice. Maybe the rest of their menu is 4 star but not the birria - especially for the price. I know, everyone has raised prices but the week before we went to a sit down Mexican restaurant for a full meal for $10 less. read more

Best flan I've ever had! So creamy, subtle caramel flavor with a thicker not watery sauce, not even a hint of overcooking on the bottom. Just perfection. Did I mention creamy?! So yum! Also, the service of the girls at the register/front was on point. They came out and checked on me multiple times, took away empty dishes to give me more room as I ate, brought my dessert after I was done without prompting and even helped me outside when my lunch bag ripped and fell, she brought me a new knife for my lunch (I made it at home but had with me because I was on my way to work). Just really wonderful above and beyond service and scrumptious flan, I will definitely be back. read more

Always amazing service!! They're very friendly and have provided good customer service in making sure that the food is great and everything is ok! Their food is also amazing! Just all around a great place to have lunch or dinner!!! Open 6 days a week! read more

I came here for dinner and also to get a breakfast burrito for an early morning the next day. The tacos were great, good size and full of meat, perhaps a smidge pricey at ~$5 after tax and tip each, but still delicious. The lengua (tongue) was tender and meaty, cooked the way it should be. The tripas though were the stand out - crispy, smoky, rich... I might get just these next time. If you haven't tried this before, don't be squeamish - they don't taste like offal, they don't have a weird texture, they are just delicious. The tortillas were also great, thin and chewy and just strong enough to hold onto the ingredients while you ate. It should also be noted that they have free and unlimited chips and salsa. And the salsas are quite tasty, the salsa verde being my favorite. The super breakfast burrito was eaten cold at around 5 am the next morning, so obviously it wouldn't be fair to judge it like I had it fresh. But it was well constructed, very well sized, and had plenty of egg and bacon in it. It was good even if not eaten at the optimal time and temperature. The restaurant is located next to a sushi bar (which I am too scared to try given Redding's inland location) and has a big parking lot. They take credit cards and bring the food to your table. Whether you're a local or just visiting this place is definitely worth a visit.

The super taco lengua , asada and fish , fish were so salty and in bits of pieces , lengua cooked tender , beef taste was alright , each has an abundance of lettuce, sour cream, salsa , cheese .

The shrimp was super flavorful and the fixings were also well balanced. It was MASSIVE and so so tasty and juicy. I could tell they take a lot of care in marinating the food and having good quality rice/beans. The chips and salsa were also a nice addition and the salsa is so tasty that it's almost drinkable. Wow! I would definitely try their other dishes.
