Great place with good seafood options. I love the Michelada!! I got the dozen oyster with shrimp and octopus. The price was great for what I got, but the only downside was the oyster tasted a bit old but that's expected I guess at these kinds of restaurant. I probably wouldn't do the oysters here again. Oh man, this place was soooooo f***n amazingly delicious!!!! Came on a Sunday about 2 pmish, place was a little packed but for the 2 of us we got a seat pretty quickly. Ordered way too much because everything looked and sounded amazing! But I wasn't disappointed by anything at all! Service was great, ambience wasn't too loud or obnoxious as some might say about Mexican restaurants. I can be picky about my shrimp (I know it gives more flavor but I hate having to peel my own shrimp while I'm eating) but they were cool about substituting for the already peeled shrimp vs the shell and head on. Oh and you know how you usually go into a Mexican spot and they serve you chips and salsa? This place gives you chips and ceviche as an hors d'oeuvres! Absolutely amazing! The sign on the door says they open at 10:00. We stood outside until 10:20 while the staff sat inside and ate. They had more than 15 people out there waiting-after their open time, and didn't even communicate how long the wait would be or what the hold up was. I live in SoCal but once a year I come to Lode/Stockton on business. The highlight of the trip is being able to eat here. The service is friendly and efficient but the best thing is the food. Starting with the ceviche and a michelada . Everything I've eaten is great but the pineapple stuffed with seafood Is killer. I also love the steak and shrimp fajitas. This place was more than I expected. The decor is a little weird,think Spongebob Squarepants. The menu was in Spanish with some English translations,but,not very accurate. Then the food arrived. Although food is somewhat good at times, their service is unprofessional and do not value their customers. Last weekend we ordered our food over the phone and we provided details as to what we wanted. They affirmed our order and they let us know when it was ready. After ordering a large and expensive order we would expect great service along with our meal. When we looked at our food, they gave us the wrong food and they didn't provide their complimentary ceviche. We called to let them know of their mistake and they didn't cooperate with us. They told us their was nothing to be done with our order because it was too much food and it would be a loss for them. And then they told us that we can drive back just to pick up the ceviche. Never have I experienced a restaurant that was more worried about a loss of profit over an order versus a customers satisfaction. Never going back. read more

After reading the reviews, decided to give it a shot. Was very pleased to see that they give you ceviche and tostadas right off the bat. Reminds me of the marisco restaurants in Mexico that offer a botana. Ordered the camarones agua chile, a dozen oysters and a vuelve a vida. The oysters were fresh and tasty, the agua chile was probably the best I've ever had but the campechana was merely ok. Service was great, fast and attentive. Sea food based Mexican restaurant. Super authentic and fresh! I'm very skeptical when it comes to seafood and they do it right! Great flavors, great concept. Why only 3 stars? I can't come to terms with putting delicious cheesy shrimp in a store bought tortilla. I can not stress enough how dire it is to have homemade tortillas. I really refuse to give more than 3 stars without home made tortillas. Another issue, the young servers they started out so awesome and attentive and then disappeared at the end. One came by to take our plates and ten minutes later another one asked how we were doing, uhmm our plates are gone we are ready for our bill silly. Looked back at one point to see he was on his phone I took a picture but thought it would be rude to post it. Play with your phone when the restaurant is empty not when you have five tables that you can't seem to handle. Canned sodas, so no free refills.. Good place, I may return for a lunch special since the meals are the same size and half the price hopefully I'll receive better service next time so I can give one more star to a place I feel really deserves it! read more

I was hesitant with all the different seafood in it such as, octopus, but WOW. Definitely changed my mind on octopus. It was tender and the flavors were so delicious. Then I also tried the michelada encabronada (?), I think it's called...wow. It was a meal in itself and so delicious. Took friends there and they're hooked as they should be. The dishes are good quality and prepared the way they should be. For starters, forget about the usual chips and salsa, as here you will be treated to complimentary ceviche, served with crackers, tostadas, and three limes! Both of the entrees my companion and I ordered were perfection itself. The shrimp in cream sauce was so delicious that it brought tears of joy to my eyes.
