GREAT salsa. That's where my positive experience ends. Host was MIA for a while. Finally got seated. Waitress was MIA for a while. Flunky brought us our chips and salsa, and he was fine. Chips were storebought garbage, but that salsa was phenomenal. Waitstaff ignored us for a "spanish speaking" table (I speak Spanish, as well, but not good enough). Finally ordered, my Chimi was horrible, came with Sour Cream even though I asked for no Sour Cream, so they took it back and wiped it off and brought it back. That was fine, but avoid this place if you have allergies b/c they do NOT recook it. Anyway, nothing but meat inside the soggy Chimi, no flavor. My s/o's black bean soup was just a can of black beans dumped in a bowl. It took so long to get someone to take the check that we pulled the card and used cash so we could finally leave. Went to this place on our trip to Costco. I ordered a "Deluxe Burrito" with chicken. The menu said it's a popular item. When the burrito arrived, I noticed that there was nothing but bland chicken meat wrapped inside a tortilla. There was nothing else inside that "Deluxe Burrito". There were no rice and no beans, nothing but bland boiled chicken meat. I asked the waiter why the burrito is stuffed with nothing but chicken meat and he first looked annoyed and then got me the menu. Apparently their "'popular' Deluxe Burrito" consists of nothing but chicken meat or beef stuffed inside a burrito. Doesn't sound very deluxe to me. My boyfriend jokingly said it's "meat in a tube". The waiter had to make sure that this was my fault for assuming that rice and beans or at least something more would be inside the burrito, and he said, "yeah I don't know why you ordered that." Great effort for making your customer feels terrible with your snide remark! And their lettuce - it's terrible. The lettuce is wilted and tastes like vinegar. Also, you might consider bringing your own water or beverage to this place because they are very inattentive to water refills. We left hungry and bought hotdogs from Costco instead. Even the hotdogs from Costco are much much better than the feces they served at this place. This place also charges more than other Mexican restaurants - terrible food at a higher price. The Bro and I were hanging out one late evening, and he wanted some late night Mexican that served booze. So driving around we came across Las Magaritas on Aurora. We thought why the heck not? We were seated promptly and chips and salsa were brought out. It took a while until someone came by to take our order, but we didn't mind as this was our first time here. I believe I ordered something like chicken enchilada and taco combo and the Bro ordered Carne Asada. He also ordered a good, strong sounding cocktail, but looked hella fruity, and not even strong! Haha, so much for being macho! My horchata was alright, had better. Our food came out relatively fast, it didn't look as appealing to our eyes or description on the menu. The Bro's food looked good. He said it needed something more. The more was our waiter out of the blue brought him some house made extra spicy sauce. I had a taste and eh, wasn't that spicy. The waiter came by and he nudged my bro and said the sauce is spicy and good que no? Bro was polite and said yes, but secretly added some Tapatio to add to the flavor. My dish was pretty bland, as was the rice and beans. The taco already got too soggy and fell apart when I attempted to pick it up, annoying. It was also place right by the enchilada and the sauce, so it soaked up that too. We ended up boxing most of our food and paid. Service was alright, spotty at times, they were way more attentive to the loud party of 6 that walked in at 10:00. Prices, are not really worth what we ate. Liked that the give you a whole pitcher of water and leave it at your table. read more

I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is delicious and plentiful and the drinks are always yummy! The staff is very friendly, from the greeter to the waiter/waitress, to the busers. Also, as a bonus, they give you chocolate mints along with your check. read more

This place is fantastic. Went here with some friends on a friday night and we all got the carne asada. A giant hot plate of amazing food was placed before me as well as a peach margarita. the food was really great and fresh. the margarita was deceiving at first, tasting like a delicious peach smoothie then all the tequila settled in. The service was really great. the perfect amount of attentiveness.. Definitely check it out! it's a bit out of the way but i'll definitely go back! read more

Worst meal ever! Only slightly better than Taco Bell. Actually, at least at Taco Bell my food would have been warm. (Just for the record, I don't eat at Taco Bell; I'm just using the comparison to set the scene.) I ordered a Tostada which was watery, tasteless and cold. Who wants to eat here? When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated. We have been there before and thought we would look at the menu to try something new, but the mole is just too delicious. It'a a little too spicy for me, so I cut the heat with limes. I asked for some limes and all was well until we received the bill and were charged for the limes!!!! This is such a minor thing, but we had never been charged before and if they charged everyone every time, it would be ok, but it just left me with a bad taste. So i got the fish taco's that where suppose to come with a cabbage slaw. It never came that way. I asked the server to take it off when i only ate one of the "3 taco's. I'd pay for the rice and beans but the taco's where not what is expected. They need a slaw that the menu says. ? And i was repeatedly told that thats how they came. We moved here from Arizona a few years ago, kind of a mecca for good mexican food. We have been hard pressed to find somewhere we just love and believe me, we have tried many. We always seem to come back to Las Margaritas. They are consistent. Their chips and salsa are great. Friendly service. Authentic atmosphere. We enjoy that the children's menu isn't a slew of random "kid food" and actually offers burritos, tacos, and enchiladas for the youngsters too. My daughter loves their Panchita, which is pretty much just a cherry sprite. Last time we were there, they didn't give her an maraschino cherry, and when the server noticed, she brought a shot glass full of them to us, and my daughter was delighted.They have an extensive menu, but I am a fan of the chimichanga's, my husband likes their burritos. Last time he ordered the beef enchiladas and he didn't particularly enjoy them, said that he should have just went with the cheese enchilada and they would have been great. Their rice is a little on the bland side, but nothing a spoonful of salsa won't fix. Pretty good for a mexican fix when you are more than 1000 miles from the tastes you crave! read more

I like the fish fried tilapia with rice and Diablo wings. love the place its a family friendly environment, very accommodating. The owner (Hector) did an awesome job. He went table by table making sure the customer is comfortably while dining. I'm a good tipper, always 20%, sometimes more if the service was great or if my tab is small. However, I stopped in there for a late lunch. It was almost empty. My server brought me water and a menu and then didn't come back for almost 15 minutes. I was considering just leaving when she finally showed up. I never saw her again until it was time to pay. Someone from the kitchen brought my order and filled my water glass. She then disappeared with my credit card for another 10 minutes. Food was okay, but won't go back. Mom gave me a lift down to Ballard last week since I was without a car, and I wanted to take her out to lunch, and she wanted to go to Azteca in mountlake Terrece, and it was Tuesday after all, but she couldn't hold out for that long, had to make a pit-stop, so I suggested las Margaritas(Wish I hadn't) we got in there just after 11am, there was one other table sat, we got our menus, I ordered a beer( I wasn't driving) and sat for a good 10 minutes waiting for the waiter to reappear. I wanted a Chile` relleno, and the only way I could get one from their meny would be to order a 3 item combo platter, so I did with the obligatory beef Enchilada(ground beef) it finally arrived after what seemed like an eternity, the waiter kept calling me Amigo, it was all worse than anything I could put together at home, blindfolded, with a hangover. Never, ever again, not unless you happen enjoy Americanized sub-par Quazi-mexican food. I can't believe they are still in business selling that swill. First thing, I love those chairs. They are the most colorful and wonderful chairs I have seen in a restaurant. Every time I go in there they bring me joy. The second star is for the chairs. The food, however, is all the worst that fast-food Mexican has to offer. This is my third time in the past couple years and this time have to talk about it. I had a vegetarian burrito. The description had me expecting something stuffed with wildly fresh vegetables of many varieties, a fresh sauce to moisten it up, and some rice and beans for pop. What I received was what I feared - a dry and tasteless bean and rice burrito with a few pieces of veggie to break it up. The tortilla was dry and was often the only flavor I could make out. My wife had the pork tacos. The fascinating thing was the dry tortilla of my burrito had more flavor that the pork in her taco. My wife cleared her plate of beans and rice to fill up and left the rest of the taco. I don't claim to be a chef, but these are not Abuela's recipes. This restaurant serves beans and rice with the cheapest flavorless protein they can pare up with. Over the years I have had their tamale, dry and tasteless, their relleno was waxy, their pork is flavorless and dry (like they boiled it). My family enjoyed dinner here this week and it was very tasty. I had tacos ala carte with shredded beef and they were the type I prefer - with lettuce tomato and cheese. My mom had the vegetarian enchilada and RAVED about it. She doesn't like foods that are too spicy and the green sauce was perfect for her but still had a hint of spicy. My kids and grandkids all nodded emphatically when I asked if they liked their dinner (including one little miss who had pepperoni pizza - a nice option for a big family with varied tastes.) Our waiter was very helpful and even though we made changes to three different things, he got everything correct which doesn't always happen when we're out with a big group. We will definitely be adding this to our address books for future visits. While the prices for the meals were around $10 for dinner, the kids meals were less and the rest of us just ordered ala carte since we couldn't take home left overs and we only drank water (really appreciated their water pitchers) - which turned out to make it a very reasonably priced $35ish for 6 read more

This restaurant has a wide variety of delicious cocktails and they continuously drop off refills of chips and salsa. The portions are huge and they are comfortable moving items off the plate and putting them on the side if you are like me and can't have certain foods touch each other. Great staff and a mint at the end round out the experience. read more

Yeah...it was gross. I ordered a "pork burrito" for $10 including tip and what I got was a tortilla filled with just tons of tasteless, dry pork sitting in a pool of bland green sauce and also smothered with the sauce. I literally only ate the tortilla. I repeat: I PAID $10 FOR A TORTILLA! The person sitting next to me received a plate of melted cheese with a tortilla hiding underneath. There is absolutely no reason to go here. There are plenty of good places to eat on Aurora. Go to Pho Ha and get a great Vietnamese sandwich for $3 or something. read more

I live right down the street from this place, so it's always convenient to stop by. I wouldn't say it's "gourmet" Mexican food, but it's tasty and superior to the more decent chains out there. The prices are fair for the portion sizes, which are generous, and they're not stingy about the chips either which is a life saver after a long work day. I'm not sure what kind of beer crowd they have, but it would be nice to see a few additional Mexican beers more regularly on tap. I can always find something, but the selection seems pretty small. In the Northwest I kind of feel like beer selection is a must-have for any place trying to serve it because the competition is so plentiful. The pictures are fair representations of the food, and I think you get what you pay for. If you're looking for experimental flavors and exotic spices, I recommend the tapas bar Ocho in Fremont. This is hearty, consistent, filling, family Mexican-American fare. The staff are polite, attentive and engaging, and I always feel welcome when I visit. What a pleasant surprise! My girlfriend and I visited Seattle from San Francisco and without knowing the area, we stayed at a Holiday Inn just down the street. After stopping in late our first night, we were stunned at the quality of food (not to mention the quantity). We returned two more nights on our short trip and felt right at home thanks to Louis, Hector, and Patricia. Very reasonable pricing to boot. read more

Their service is good, food is OK, portion is big, but something is just missing. well, I guess they don't have anything special thing to talk about. I still go there because my boyfriend likes their Mexican Kabob. But every time I go there with him, I have hard time to decide. So I just stick with Carne asada/ boring. read more

Have been eating here for quite a few years now and the customer service is phenomenal. Everyone is so friendly and every time we have come here we are greeted as soon as we walk through the door. When requesting extra chips or tortillas they are always pretty fast making it back to the table. Ordering over the phone is also very easy and straightforward compared to other Mexican restaurants I have had to deal with. When ordering to go I have noticed that some restaurants offer slightly smaller portions but I swear the portions to go are slightly BIGGER here. 5/5 read more

three stars for a reason. First of all the food is usually very good. The staff are very helpful and responsive, but most of the time you have to get their attention. They aren't the type to just stop by and ask if you need anything. The cheese dip is a great appetizer and the fajitas are excellent. So why the 3 stars. The food is way over priced. Two entrees and a non-alcoholic beverage with tip is close to $50.00. With every other restaurant cutting prices due to the recession, Las Margaritas has increased their prices. If you go to have a few drinks with your meal you can count on $100. That's just too pricey for good but basic Mexican food and a couple of margaritas. If you go, go for lunch, the prices aren't quite as high. read more

Been here before, and I think the service and food are both going downhill fast. Have since become a fan of Las Brisas in Edmonds! The food at Las Margaritas verges between Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican cuisine. The food has always been very good. Their cheese/queso dip is incredible. The restaurant has a traditional Mexican flair to it's interior including hand carved and hand painted chairs, benches, and booth dividers. It's really very good food. Where Las Margaritas' falls short is their pricing. $13.99 for two cheese enchiladas with a side of rice and beans is a bit pricey. $2.75 for a glass of tea is outrageous. So for a basic meal, no alcohol and no appetizers costs 20-25$ with tip per person. Personally I think that it way too much. Sure you leave full, you've been snaking on chips and salsa and rice and beans, and the food is good. Their prices are higher than Mexico Cantina Y Veracruz Cooking at Pacific Place Center in Downtown Seattle is far more reasonably priced and the food was just as good or better. Even Mama's mexican restaurant downtown is a much better deal. To be stuck out in a high traffic area of Aurora Avenue in Shoreline, one might think the food would be reasonably priced. It's not. It's good food, but you're going to pay for it. And if you add margaritas do your meal, expect an extra $7-12 per drink. I went with a friend one night, we both had a combination meal, cheese dip, and 2 margaritas each and the bill with tax and tip was almost $80.00. To me that's far too much for simple mexican food. Yes it is good food, but it is not spectatcular food. I don't think it's worth the money, especially in the recent recession. Most restaurants have offered deals or cut prices over the past two years to keep people eating out. Las Margaritas has not. If you're taking a family of four or a group of people,expect to enjoy good food and service, but be ready to take out a mortgage on your house to pay the bill. read more
