It came with Mexican Rice; Taco Salad with Ground Beef and a Quesadilla Rellena Large with Shrimp and Steak, with Mexican Rice. We also ordered a side of refried beans, guacamole and queso. We were seated and the waitress took a while to come to the table. Able to get drinks ordered. Ordered an app. Then later entrees. After a significant amount of time the waitress said it wouldnt be too much longer. A male server came out with our app and 2 seconds later our waitress with the entrees. We never got to eat our app. Both entrees were dry. One had undercooked veggies. They clearly had been left under a hear lamp everything was dry. I was unable to enjoy or finish my meal. My stomach was and is still in knots. We went for a birthday dinner but i guess since it was just us 2 we werent as important as the big table in the back. The great thing about Las Palmas is it's consistent across all of its locations. This visit I went in on a Sunday at lunchtime. As to be expected, it was very busy but I was seated immediately. My server was incredibly busy but greeted me with the delicious chips and salsa. I already knew what I wanted to order so placed my order. My food came out in about 10 minutes, just as I ordered (I had a couple of special requests). My only comment is that it took awhile (about 15 minutes after I had finished eating) to get my check, but like I said, my server was very busy. I didn't mind, I was reading a book! read more

Had Las Palmas prepare some food for a Doctor's event I was doing today in Antioch. My provider placed their order by phone. I called in to add to the order later and everything was seamless--the food looked good and tasted great There was a fish dish that one of the doctor's ordered that looked amazing, but I didn't get the name of the dish. The Shrimp cocktail that I had was fabulous and the enchilada and burrito combo that another guest had also looked very good. I'm not sure why this place has such a low ranking on Yelp? Meal- Lunch I think this is the closest Mexican establishment within 5-7 miles of Sam's Club in Antioch. I passed by some food trucks in my way. The food was slightly over sub-par.i have tried another of their locations in midtown Nashville and I recall it to be much better cuisine. I had the lunch special # 5 -I believe. It is the Chimichanga with rice as my side. Now you could get this in a refried beams. My meat of choice was chunky steak. The steak was pretty bland and a little bit on the fatty end. I am used to Mexican beef generally being marinated in a very unique blend of spice(s) The beef tasted more along the lines of pot roast style. The rice was d'élections and the cheese sauce pretty tasty. It will just suffice... I plan to come back for dinner sometime. I will update this review when i read more

Started out great with nachos and salsa and the best cheesy dip I've ever had! The waitress who showed us to our table was lovely and cheerful. The waitress who served us was pretty rude the whole time we were there. My friend found a shrimp tail in her grilled chicken and I had a hair on my burrito when it was first brought out. The food was disappointing as mine really lacked any flavour. I had the burrito and taco combo with chicken. The taco was good but the whole thing just tasted very bland. I don't like spicy food but this just had no flavour! The beans and rice were nice but I wouldn't go here again. So, this is my first time here in years. I came because their name came up on Yelp, and then I remembered that this place existed. They used to have fantastic margaritas, and I came to take a stroll down memory lane. Simply put, this is slightly below average. My waitress was friendly enough, but had a limited grasp of English and an even more limited grasp of their menu.. She WAS inattentive, but I'm going to put some of her subpar waitressing on a language barrier. I came here for the margaritas mentioned Above, & I wasn't really hungry. So I ordered the bean soup (frijoles charro) and the tamal. I asked her what was in the bean soup and she didn't know. She looked at the picture and guessed what was in there (she thought the bell peppers was cilantro, lol). If I had known it was just a Mexican version beans and franks... I would have passed. I don't like hot dogs. The tamal was basically cornbread with a meat patch in it. It looks good on the picture, but the cornmeal part was really thick and I think the texture was strange to me just because it was thick compared to other tamales I've had. Maybe that's the difference between a tamal and a tamale? BUT The margaritas were still fabulous and that is the only reason there are 3 stars instead of 2. I clearly saw at least four flavors of margaritas in the machines. But even when I pointed at their machines and asked the waitress what was the 4th flavor in the fourth machine--- she didn't know or understand... and kept saying they only have strawberry, lime and mango. Also, it took a really long time to get lemon for my water, even after asking 3x. I just wish the service was as good as the margaritas. But I know this wasn't solely a language barrier because even though I never got water until I flagged her down twice, she stood over me while I filled out the check with an undeserved tip. Lol. She stood and "cleared the table" while I was signing the check, reaching over me to pick up the straw wrappers. And as soon as I put the pen down she picked up the check and dishware and was off again. Weird that she was hovering at my table after I finished eating more than the combined time she was at my table during service. I wish that I could order to Margaritas to go. I'll be sparing in my return visits. But I will return eventually because now I'm more than determined to find out what that the mystery flavor of Margarita is. read more

My family of 7 decided to try out Las Palmas before a shopping trip to Sam's one night. The food was bland, bordering on yucky, and the prices are high for what you get. The chips were mealy, the salsa tasted like tomato sauce, the chorizo queso was already congealing and the sausage had lots of hard nasty bits, the rice and beans were AWFUL (really, no flavor to speak of and the texture was horrid), and the fajitas were overseasoned. They made my mouth hurt. Nashville is filled with wonderful little Mexican restaurants. Drive down Nolensville Rd. and try just about anywhere else. read more

I am a CA native and this place has the worst "Mexican" food I have ever had. Ordered a burrito combo plate and received an enchilada masked as a burrito with what tasted like Ragu sauce on top of it and a taco that was of lower quality than a Del Taco taco. The rice that came with the plate was for sure instant rice; likely microwaved. They planned to charge us 36 bucks for 2 adults and a kid to eat. I told them this was not Mexican food and the (Manager?) told me it was "Tex-Mex". Look it doesn't take a scholar to understand that the closer the food is to the source the better it is; but to use this excuse is ridiculous. I imagine Tex-Mex food is very good and this was cafeteria garbage at best. They took off 15% from the bill which means nothing. The employees at this restaurant really did their best but the bottom line is Restaurants that have food of this poor quality while charging fine dining rates should be ran out of town. read more

****RUDE, IMPATIENT SERVICE!!! Never will I go here ever again!!!! As of Sunday, August 10, 2014 my little sis checked her account and sees that Las Palmas charged here a near whopping $88 check instead of what we actually paid for, which was only $26. She called the restaurant and wanted to speak the manager on what was the issue and they just hung up on her. This place sucks! Read on to find more also, you'll wish you did. Went to eat here for lunch with my little sis around 1:00 pm, it was particularly busy when we arrived. The waiters/waitresses were rushing to clean tables and fold more silverware to the napkins. We were not greeted when we first stepped in, which is a big no no. But one of the waitresses sat us down to a booth and then we were served chips and salsa. The chips were very warm and toasty, I'll give them that. The salsa, ehhh very watered down and just like other Yelpers, tasted like canned tomato puree with added spice crap mixed in. We had a little Hispanic boy as our waiter, first he seemed nice and all but was quite impatient with us while trying to tend to his other tables. So we placed our drinks and then placed our orders after our drinks arrived. Our waiter kept saying "you guys alright" but was still rushing around with who knows what. I did not feel like I had his courteous attention at all. I can't count how many times he asked us "you guys alright". For sure over 4 times before our order came in. Our drinks were pretty low, yet he did not even ask us one bit if we wanted a refill or that he would fill it up for us. It was just... empty! So our food came in and my steak fajitas were very bland. The only good part was the guacamole and sour cream! Ha! The lettuce was disgusting! That was the first thing I noticed when our orders arrived, the lettuce was not green, just white and brown. The food was overall ok. So while we were eating our waiter as always kept passing by and asking us "you guys alright". It was really annoying. Still no refills in our cup. Funny to say that their restaurant statement was that "love our food, love our service more" something like that. And to be honest, this restaurant did not meet our expectations. A good friend of mine and I have a years long tradition of going to Las Palmas for our birthdays. Sure, there's better Mexican food in Nashville, however Las Palmas always has very friendly staff and their margaritas are big and cheap! Honestly the most disgusting food i have ever tasted. everytime i order from there it's always cold and it's never right. Also it's like they understand when I ask for extra cheese and rice. Terrible service and food. Our waiter took 10 minutes to get to our table. We ran out of water and salsa and took another 10 minutes for our server to notice. I got so frustated i poured the pitcher of water myself. When we finally got our food we were very disappointed. The tacos and enchilladas are very small and the meat had a strange taste to it. My husband and I have been going there ever since they have been opened. Sometimes we have eaten there as much as twice a week. But we usually eat there on the average once a week. Yes over the years when we have gone and they were very busy and were rushing around what are they suppose to do? If they weren't trying to give good customer service I don't think they would be doing that would they. As far as the food goes I think we have tried almost all of the different foods on the menu. It might have been one or two things we didn't particularly like but is it a proven fact that EVERYBODY does not like the same things. There are some people in the world that you couldn't please if you wanted. That is just human nature. Las Palmas is our favorite place to eat. The atmosphere, the waiters or waitress, food, and drinks including the Margaritas are great. And we are planing to continue to go there as long as we are able.
