Stick to the food if you come here. I ordered from here to go. I gotta say I was so disappointed in the choco flan. Like wow, this was not good. My roomie & I couldn't finish it. The cake part was neither chocolatey or moist. It's weird because the cake portion looked moist but when you bite into it, it was dry. The flan part lacked caramel, I think it was overcooked. The pecan part didn't bother me as much as the flavor tasted like a steam egg. Now some good things to say because I don't like giving a review based off of one not so great item. One of my favorite Mexican spots in Kennesaw for a quick bite. The pozole is absolutely incredible. Butter pecan flan is a must try! Caldo De Res is rotated with the menudo and pozole. Best to call ahead and see which they have. I've yet to have a bad dish here. The tacos are good and solid portions, the owners are super friendly and will chat with you. This hidden gem is worth a visit. Despite the long line during lunch, it was worth the wait. I had the delicious Veggie Quesadilla, which had a perfect balance of flavors. Their salsa station offers a variety of tasty options, some of which are really spicy. The rice and beans were decent. I loved this place and slowly just don't feel welcomed anymore. I went when it first opened up, and it was a very welcoming environment. Now it seems like more of the family members have taken over and it's like walking into their home kitchen at times. I've walked into conversations that felt as if I was intruding, and even the person behind the register seemed to wish they didn't have to be there. I personally don't care as long as the food is good, and it usually is. I've had time where parts of my order was forgotten and since I was in a rush and didn't notice until I was far away it was just unfortunate. Last year, I would have given this place at least 4 stars, but since management changed, it has gone downhill. I went a few months ago and received poor service. My order was wrong and had to go back to get it fixed, but it seemed like they were reluctant to follow through on what they confirmed over the phone, and the woman who seemed to be the manager was not very professional about the situation. Food wise, it wasn't bad. The rice wasn't good but everything else was that time. My friend went back today though to get tacos, and the beef tasted funky. Chicken tacos were dry and un-flavorful.. the corn tortillas were thick and there were two of them, which is normal, but weird because these were so chunky. I Came in for lunch on a Sunday. Very unfriendly owner. The chicken burrito barely had any chicken in it and the tortilla was stale and seemed to have been purchased from Kroger....burritos at Taco Bell are so much better. Do yourself a favor and drive 5 miles away to either 'Tacos del Chavez ' or to 'Rico Tropical Grill' in Kennesaw where they value customers and their food is excellent. They will also not charge you extra for onions, tomatoes, sour cream or cheese in your burrito like this restaurant does......seriously, who does that? Today I'm thanking the taco gods. The person, who I believe was the owner, was telling us they've been open for 6 months now and I'm sad I'm just now checking it out. They have a salsa bar which is awesome because I love salsa! However, I went last week near around 530. The meat was super, super dry! Like it has been sitting there all day. This place kind of blows my mind... first off its attached to a shell gas station on Jiles road in Kennesaw. I must have passed Joe's a hundred times not seeing this place since I get my fuel at QT and they've been open for six months. So on a working Saturday I started to get a taco urge... of course I turned to my fellow yelpers to see if their is anything hot and new, this is where Joe's popped up. So I always try the chicken on my first visit to any new mexician eatery. Just a dumb mental habit! I ended up getting 2 soft chicken tacos which come with onions, mixed peppers and cilantro. If you want to add anything it's .75 per item, which I added sour cream and cheese. To my surprise the food is extremely fresh! I know right... a place that's attached to a gas station, C'mon!!! The soft tacos are hand made and delicious, also it's authentic food! Not like Moe's and extremely salty Chipotle... yuck! Best of all it tasted delicious, my stomach isn't weighed down and it doesn't hurt either! I never thought I would find any place that was as good as my old tried-and-true taco truck on the corner of bells ferry and Eagle Drive, but Nachos has them beat.
