I was really looking forward to my appointment with Dr. Candace Spann here after hearing rave reviews and recommendations from friends, but my appointment didn't necessarily go as expected. I booked my appointment online and when doing so they were booked out for two - three months. I came in for a 10:00a appointment and the lobby was busy with a steady number of patients checking in and being taken back by staff. Their process seemed to have a good flow: check in at front desk then a few minutes later a medical assistant would call for the patient with a little iPad in hand at the door (maybe the current version of a clipboard with patient information?). I waited a little bit as I watched people come and go from their door. I was called and taken back at 10:35a. After talking to the assistant about my reason for my visit and etc. for about 2 minutes, I was left to sit and wait for the doctor. Time seemed to pass slowly as my room was awfully quiet but staff outside were chatting away. Patiently waiting, I read through every little pamphlet in that room, front to back, for about another 30 minutes until I was tired of waiting. I left the room and notified staff I was leaving; they advised I was next on the list to be seen. The delayed update was nice to know - although prompted by me, but an hour of idle sitting isn't the best use of my time. I can't imagine someone's frustration if they've experienced the same while taking time off from work to visit this office. I cannot comment on their care or expertise in the medical/dermatology world as I did not get treated for anything. Front desk staff did call me after I left to ask if I wanted to keep the paid amount as a credit to the account or to be refunded - I chose the latter as I don't see myself coming back anytime soon. Aside from all this, the office is very pretty and well designed inside. I learned about skin cancer, Botox alternatives and Retress - their hair growth system/product they sell from the pamphlets I read. There is ample parking space around the plaza. Oh lastly, the lobby entrance is closest to the 215 side of the building. read more

I was referred to Dr. Marvin Spann for my reconstructive surgery. The office can get very busy, but staff and facility is really nice. I was very uncomfortable and intimidated at first and dealing with lots of emotions after being diagnosed with breast cancer but Dr. Spann answered all my questions, was kind and reassuring. I was a long time customer of dr spann, first visit likely 12 years ago. I used to see dr spann exclusively but due to how far out in scheduling, I scheduled an appt . With another doctor for my daughter. Nearly the first thing suggested for her was Accutane for her acne.... really no other suggestions, or looking into anything else. Thankfully a change in diet, and vitamins cured that without all the side effects of accutane. Fast forward today , in an attempt to schedule an appt, its been 3 years since ive seen a dermatologist. I gave them my insurance info, I told the scheduler I wanted a routine check up. She asked if I was experiencing hair loss , sure at 42 , or any age who doesnt lose strands of hair, and so I say yes but I just want an overall evaluation. She immediately proceeds to tell me its 300 just to be seen no insurance taken with any mention of hair loss . Well she asked me ! It wasnt my reason for the appt .Anyway.... Guess my previous review go's away when you update..i went to couture for a simple freeze of some actinic keratoses..on my chest and one behind ear..had this done somewhere else multiple times..For whatever reason did not work here! Spot behind my ear still there as are the ones on my shoulder. I stipulated strongly..reiterated! that they were to make sure dr (in this case a p.a.) did nothing i would be charged extra for out of pocket. Reiterated this when i made the appointment over the ph, again when i went in and also to the other front desk girl. I see two separate charges on the letter they sent to me..all she did was use the freeze gun..and as you can see from the pics..issue still there. And they sent me a bill anyhow after all that for i believe around $38. Guess the front desk doesnt communicate with the back..no matter how many times they are told! No way to run an office. Get referral from my primary doctor but for some reason I get different location. I like their vibe and interior at lobby even their exam rooms very clean. Doctors are great at site. But once you left, and get prescription from that point a little bit hassle. I couldn't get the cream that doctor instructed me to order. The other side said never have my name, so I have to called multiple times and always transfer to voice mail. Later when you get respond they give me the prescriptions that I don't need it. And call back again same cycle, voice mail again. Finally I cancelled my follow up appointment. Great place and maybe doctors too, but when come down to services are pretty ineffective. That is just my experience, the unlucky one. Great doctor, I was hope the new cream can help my skin, but I just can't connect to them. Everything is 4 stars from staffs, environment and doctor. Really frustrating experience as a new patient. I filled out all the forms online, uploaded my insurance and ID--only to be handed a huge stack of paperwork to redo in person. Total waste of time. They also wouldn't see me unless I signed off on a bunch of ridiculous fees, like charging extra just to fill out forms for another doctor. That should be basic office admin, not a separate charge. I signed under protest. I was also interested in a cosmetic consultation, but they wanted $150 just to talk. That felt like a missed opportunity. If the barrier to entry were lower, they might actually earn more. And to top it off, I waited 20+ minutes past my appointment time. If I were that late, I'd probably be charged. I love my Dr, Dr. Kate Pham! I originally went here for acne issues. I did some research on my own to help clear up my acne but Courture helped me as well. I believe it was the combination of both and now I am finally acne free! I get comments on my skin all the time. When you get diagnosed with breast cancer, the range of emotions that you experience are vast, real and deep. Trying to navigate everything while being scared to your core that you may not survive. Making sure that you get the best doctors (that fall under your insurance of course), making sure your family and close friends know how much you love them and how strong you are, accepting that this will by far be the hardest part of life you'll ever go through. You navigate so many thoughts like; "am I going to die?", "am I strong enough to do this?", "am I going to need chemo and radiation?", "will my children have to bury me?", "will my spouse be a widow?", "am I doing to lose my breasts?", "will I be able to get plastic surgery for fake breasts so I at least feel like a woman?", "will I lose my hair?"... the questions are forever never ending. One thing you should NEVER have to question or worry about is, "will the plastic surgeon I meet with be rude, unkind, lack empathy, lack compassion and be downright cruel?". Well I am here to make it known that with Dr. Spann, you will get rude, zero empathy, negative zero compassion, and 100% cruel. And you'll pay him to be all these things. A very close friend of mine is going through breast cancer. She was diagnosed with IDC (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma of no specific type, triple negative). At the time of the start of her journey in October 2024 she was estimated stage 3 as there is lymph node involvement. She is not Bracal positive, her cancer is independent of hormones. She is a wife, a mother of 2, a friend and a great human being. She went to meet with Dr. Marvin Spann hopeful, and positive that he would be able to make a horrific chapter in her story just a little brighter. She entered the room and sat anxious and scared, wondering if he would agree to do her surgery - and remove a set of breasts, thus playing a key role in saving her life. Dr. Spann enters the room - and instead of introducing himself and getting to know my friend, blurted out "Oh, you're a smoker, I don't know what you think I'll be able to do for you here." Wow... way to start right? It gets worse. My friend knowing that this is life or death, she will do whatever it takes... Dr. Spann finally gets into discussion of what would need to place for him to do the surgery... 8 weeks pre op no smoking and 4 weeks post op no smoking. My friend immediately said no problem. She stated she would not be able to quit cold turkey, but a patch will immediately start her in direction of quitting. She has done it before, but has been a smoker for over 30 years. He said no. No nicotine at all or this is a "waste of my time and won't help". Okay, maybe she needed the reality check - but some bedside manner would have been great. Dr. Spann and my friend begin talking about the different types of procedures - he mentions one that will remove fat from your stomach, and create some boobies... but end his explanation with "But I'm not sure how that would benefit you as you have a lot of fat around your stomach already." My friend left in tears. She left feeling hopeless, ugly, defeated, beat down and feeling like breast cancer isn't the worst of her problems. She went to a doctor/surgeon for help... and left feeling she isn't worthy of it. I would never in a million years recommend Dr. Spann with Couture Dermatology and Plastic Surgery to anyone. Not for an elected surgery, not for cancer related surgery, not for anything. I dug through reviews and found my friend isn't the first person to experience this kind of thing, and unfortunately she likely won't be the last. I'm thankful that this took place because so many reviews also report he is not a good surgeon, and has ruined many people. I'm thankful God stepped in and directed my friend far away from this place. The one star is for the front desk staff who have no concept of customer service . I politely asked for a copy via email of the form they had me signed which I believe is my right to have since I signed it and I was told, "No". The lady at the front desk instead gave me a copy of the HIPAA which was NOT what I signed. The form I signed has details regarding FMLA forms requirements, when a patient will be contacted regarding results, etc. I have been in this practice for about 5 years now and I have yet to experience a polite front desk staff. The providers are great! Sadly the front desk who patients have initial contact with lack consideration and respect for the paying patients. Disappointing experience withDr Span a few years ago. I was shocked to see her snap at me with a attitude that I never recognized on her. I have known her for many years before she opened up her new location of couture. She has always been very polite and professional. But not that particular day. It all Began of referring me to a Mohs surgeon of another dermatology practice. Because she didn't have a Mohs surgeon at her location at a time of my need. Inhad the surgery at the other facility and was concerned of my result of that moment. When I set up an appointment with her to discuss my result's of the surgery so to make me more comfortable and to understand my concern and my rights as a patient, she basically snapped at me and with a rude attitude asked me then why are you here today. What do you want me to do? Basically she might as well should have told me to get lost. I have never heard from couture now for 2 years. She I guess forgot about me. She has plenty of 5 star reviews She I guessed wasn't interested of me coming back as a patient of so many years . For all the years that I have known her , I did nt deserve to be treated like that. The front staff was very rude when I asked her to check for the referral sent by fax this morning by the pediatrician for my daughter. I explained to her the urgency of the need for the appointment for my teen daughter but she can't help me until she gets the fax and was sounded so rude and stated that she already mentioned they don't get the fax for about 1-2 days. That's awful! at this modern age, that can't be true since I also got the receipt of the referral. I hope there's a zero for a review. Dr Spann is wonderful. I went in yesterday for Botox as I have a big work trip on Monday. Dr. Spann suggested if there was something I didn't like to come back. I do need a bit more Botox and even changed my flight to a later time on Monday to go back. After my treatment, I bought some under eye cream from the young girl up front who in all fairness was working by herself; it was just after 12N and about a4 patients came in while I was paying for my services and eye cream. Unfortunately, last night I realized she never gave me the under eye cream that I paid over $100.00 for with cash. I guess I too was flustered and trying to get out of there for another appointment. I definitely got the check showed the office manager all the calls that I made trying to reach her and was told she was unaware. I have posted my information showing how many times I called to speak to someone to get this worked out because I was intending on getting my check and I did not get one phone call back. I just continue to be told lies and most of the time when I called it went straight to voicemail, they demanded I give them a deposit for my surgery but yeah when I canceled in ample time of the surgery weeks and weeks I couldn't get my money back is that fair when you literally gave me not even for 48 hours to come up with $3000 towards my surgery or you would not hold my spot. Do not use this facility for plastic surgery or anything else. I don't understand how this place is even open it isn't right to treat people as if they don't matter you have a professional obligation to apologize and correct the situation. None of that was done. My decision to not go forward with the doctor is because he was planning on doing my elevate which is a threading type of procedure and it is not long-term and has a very bad success rate so I am very grateful that I didn't use this doctor because he didn't care for my ultimate goal of looking my best, and that is what is important. I know she didn't look in the area and now I've had to pay 2 copays for her rushing. I'm almost at my one year post op and I have to say, I have never felt so confident! Prior to my Breast Augmentation, it was always challenging to find certain outfits. I started my journey a year and half ago with Dr. Marvin Spann of Couture Dermatology & Plastic Surgery. I was new to the area and am a breast cancer (stage three) survivor. I had a prior mastectomy, treatment and reconstruction done before moving here. In short, the tram flap I had done prior to moving here, had started to die. I was referred to a breast specialist who then referred me to Dr. Spann. Prior to Dr. Spann, I was seen by two other doctors who said they wouldn't take me on as a patient because of my numerous prior surgeries and treatments. I didn't have much hope before meeting with Dr. Spann. At my consultation, he assured me that he could fix my situation, removing all radiated skin, removing the dead portion of the tram flip and reconstruct the breast by doing a latissimus flap. He outlined the surgeries I was going to need to accomplish what was needed to fix my situation and how long it would take. He was the only doctor I had seen who was confident enough to take me on as a patient. I really appreciated all that he has done for me. He has given me back some of the confidence I had loss when it comes to my appearance. His professionalism and compassion for his patients is outstanding. He is very personable and relatable. I would recommend Dr. Marvin Spann to, and have to my friends, anyone interested in a breast reduction. He came highly recommended to me (as did others) by a colleague, and I am happy I chose him over the other recommendations I received. He was professional and knowledgeable. He has a quiet, calm, and super-confident demeanor. He will answer all of your questions. Everyone in the office is helpful and professional. Of course, as with any surgery, I was nervous, but his confidence relaxed me. The other relaxing thing was the jazz music he played in surgery; as a jazz enthusiast, it was great to hear because that's how I relax at home. He plays great music in the office as well. I am extremely happy with the result of my breast reduction, shoulder pain is gone, and my confidence is high. My scars are minimal. I thought I would have a significant scar from the nipple to under the breast, but I don't. Six months post surgery, my scars are insignificant and have diminished a lot since the surgery. The healing process is painful but worth it. Follow all doctor orders. In approximately the fourth week, you will start to feel you can do more normal things, but don't. I tried to go back to work but had to go home. Wait the full six weeks or more. Dr. Spann's strength is his desire to do a good surgical job for his patients.
