I came to this Laser Eye Center as my coworker suggested it to me if I was really interested in LASIK, so I came in for my free consultation where they perform various tests to see if you're a candidate. Everyone there was so friendly and professional. They make you feel very welcomed there and are there to answer any questions you have. I have scheduled my surgery appointment for the following week. I'm not that nervous for it as everyone was very nice and they explain the procedure, and the surgeon has years of experience. Currently with COVID, they are obviously wearing masks and sanitizing as they go, but only the patient is allowed inside the office. I'm at my follow up appointment right now. I had Lasik on one eye and Contoura on the other yesterday at 9 AM. Some people consider plastic surgery modifying their breasts or their face or other parts of their body and the eyes are one of the largest parts that we do not give enough credit to. I invested in myself thanks to the family at the Laser Eye Center, and I couldn't be more grateful. They gave me the gift of sight. i've worn glasses my entire life and I'm 38 years old. I've never been able to see without the help of corrective lenses. I am absolutely amazed and overwhelmed with emotion win last night at 6 PM when I awoke I had my sight. Clear sight. Not blurred. Not straining. Today I was able to go into something simple like a donut store and I could read a menu without my glasses. Those of us that are glasses wearers know this is a huge deal! if you were the person like me that's been struggling with the fear of what could happen don't be take a chance and get your eyes the help they need. So here's the story- I came into this location on impulse thanks to my consistent 6 month eyeglasses prescription update. It was Valentine's Day 2009. (Yes, I still remember the HORRIBLE DAY!) A 19 year old me came in for a consultation early one Saturday morning, eyeliner and masacrara on my eyes and left an hour later with an AMAZING DEAL thanks to CASH. I was then referred out to their GHETTO LA location for surgery. (Yes, surgery isn't done by the doctor you see in their lovely Encino location) I never felt the glorious feeling everyone I hear experiences with LASIK, my prescription has still consistently changed and now my optometrist has referred me out to an ophthalmologist for what is called ECTASIA to be corrected with cross link surgery. I regret the day I came in for consult and surgery. They took advantage of a young me; that was not prepared for surgery. I never even took off my makeup to do the surgery. I cannot believe no assistant, nurse or "doctor" stopped me to tell me to wipe my face or to come back in a couple more years to allow my eyes to fully develop. They just scolded me when I told them my Xanax had not kicked in, and as I lay in a room with 15 more Individuals having surgery, I was told to stop complaining as I could startle a doctor. Want to know what the surgery feels like without a Xanax fully kicked In???? ----IMAGINE YOUR EYELIDS CLAMPED DOWN FOR 15 MINUTES WHILE LAYING IN A ROOM WITH 15 OTHER PATIENTS, HAVING THE OXYGEN REMOVED FROM YOUR EYEBALLS WHILE STARING INTO A BIG RED LIGHT. ------ Please doctor, reply to my review, and tell me how this could have gone different. Ghetto!! It feels like and looks like a really small County hospital's waiting room. Or a really old dental office converted into a laser eye center. The layout of the place doesn't reassure you of how the service will be. There's no lifetime commitment from them, it's a dirty facility, and they don't even warn over the phone that they don't validate so that you can at least prepare yourself with cash. Definitely will not return to this office nor plaza as a whole. Horrible service and they keep sending me with follow-up mailers and phone calls even though I already told them that I got my Lasik done elsewhere. Excellent service! I was always afraid of getting the surgery because I don't like having my eyes touched (even by me!). I've never even worn contacts. But my mom and my sister got the surgery here and had a great experience so I trusted that they would be able to help me as well. The procedure was very quick and easy! First of all the staff here is so great! They remember your name and what you're there for so that's always a big bonus for me. I got my lasik at laser eye center a few years ago so when I was suffering from serious dry eye I decided to make an appointment. It turned out I was a candidate for an in office procedure called iLux. Basically if you have dry eye it's more than likely caused by MGD (google it) - and iLux helps immensely with condition. It's quick and painless and your eyes will thank you! Make an appointment and take care of those eyes! Here is the story. These people are happy to take your money but not tend to your needs. I got my pterygium surgery on Friday 21st. Returned for my check up on Saturday. Everything looked well in terms of a piece of skin being removed. I continue to rest my eye and applied drops all weekend. I tried returning to work on Monday 24th. At this point my eye had blood, not a bruise as they're calling it but blood. It's causing to irritate my eye and I cannot keep it open. Today is Wednesday 26th and I returned for my second check up at encino. My eye now has more blood not a bruise as they keep saying. I'm trying to work but it's difficult to keep my eye open because the blood made a bulge and it's irritating my eye. I called the office in encino asking for a note so I can give to my manager for taking the rest of the week off. Guess what they replied. "It's just a bruise and most people return back to work within a few days" which I replied. "I'm not most people, I tried returning to work but I can't focus or keep my eye open". They replied "well I can't give you a note, keep putting artificial eye drops you should be able to work by now." Wow. Great customer service. I could not get a damn note. There is no way in hell im returning to this place. If you are thinking of getting any eye surgery. Look elsewhere!!Inform yourself of the place first and ask recovery details. I deterred anyone from coming here. I was thinking of doing my lasek after I recovered from my pterygium surgery but after this there is no way I'm returning to this place. This place is amazing Came here about a year ago but never got a chance to leave a review! Funny how a lifetime of bad vision can be cured in under 5 minutes now a days That's what went through my mind after I left this place - before coming here I did plenty of research on where to go to get my vision fixed I came across a ton of shady places that had plenty of bad reviews until I came across this place. Did my due diligence on their history and was convinced this was the place. I came here for my orientation then a few days later I was under the microscope getting my lasik done They give you a brief walk through of what to expect so you're not scared. Even the actual process was a breeze. I must say these guys know what they are doing Felt little to no pain during the surgery but the days following afterwards was where I began to feel the healing process take place and that's where the pain began but after that I was good as new - the pain part is temporary and only lasts a few days to a week. Just make sure not to rub your eyes after!
