I have always had the most pleasant experiences at the Laser Away location in Hermosa Beach. Every person from the lovely ladies at the front desk to every nurse that I've worked with, they have all been professional, very nice, and knowledgeable. As a woman of darker colored skin, I have had the laser hair removal on my lower face and under arms, and I can't praise the nurses enough for permanently getting rid of the 5 o'clock shadow on my face. With the excellent after care instructions, my face and under arms have never looked better. The ladies at the front desk have always been very pleasant and accommodating. I am beyond pleased with the results as I have one session left, out of 10. I would absolutely recommend this service to a friend and a super special shout out to everyone at Hermosa Beach. Right when you walk in the receptionists immediately check you in so you can move quickly through your appointment. Love the Hermosa location & it's staff! Today I did my 5th session (brazilian, underarms, lip and legs). Hilary was my nurse & she was so gentle and made me as comfortable as possible providing ice to ease some discomfort and distracting with girl talk. Previously I had gone in and had been provided a stress ball which also really helped by my previous nurse. I have been a PA-C for 12 years. I purchased cool sculpting and laser hair removal from LaserAway Hermosa Beach, CA. I purchased 4 applications of Coolsculpting for my flanks and a series of laser hair removal. I recommend you go somewhere else for your elective medical procedures where there is someone properly managing and overseeing your care. In my experiences through 5-6 visits to this location it has become apparent to me that LaserAway hires new nurses and does not properly train or supervise them in the proper use of the equipment and procedures they are assigned to perform. On one occasion the nurse simply could not figure out how to work the machine at all. Then, another nurse came in and placed the applicator without placing the skin protectant which would have caused me frostbite. I stopped her since I wasn't in the mood for frostbite. Then, she placed the protectant, quickly strapped the applicator on, and I asked her to secure it. She said she doesn't need to. 20 minutes later, the machine popped off and didn't complete. Additionally, there were skin markings made to determine the placement of the applicator and the applicator was clearly not placed using these markings and as a result I have very uneven appearance of my flanks. I went in multiple times to have these problems documented and confirmed by the nurses who work there. I was told my complaint was being "escalated" but it has been two months and I have received no communication. I am left with uneven and persistently numb flanks with a firm and tender portion appearing in my left flank. I have lost 20 lbs, and gone from 25% to 18% body fat on my DXA scans. I should have significantly improved appearance of my flanks but unfortunately I trusted LaserAway with my care. I will consider posting pictures in the future if needed. Let me be clear, I am a seasoned medical professional. I genuinely love nurses and I know how hard they work, the crap they put up with on a daily basis, how hard they studied, and how genuinely wonderful people they are for what they do. I do NOT think this is an individual nurse's fault. It isn't. A nurse does not come out of school or usual clinical practice with the skills necessary to perform these procedures competently. They must be trained, and I have no doubt, that the large corporation behind this clinics will gladly throw the nurses who participated in my care under the bus and blame them. But let me repeat this, it is not their fault. You are a corporation and you have the responsibility to train your staff, identify competency issues, and address them before they impact a patient negatively. While LaserAway is very clean, and the staff is very friendly and nice. I would not recommend coming here, they overcharge when you could get a laser machine at home. I went to them for eight hair removal sessions that all lasted less than 15 minutes having to pay almost $2000 and my hair is still not completely gone. They stated that this is because their laser machine does not completely wipe away hair, however there has not been a single day where I haven't had to shave which is not the impression I got when first signing up. Many of the nurses states their hair didn't grow back for years after this service, yet a month after I finished all 8 sessions I can still grow a fist-full of hair.. Then they tried to get me to set up maintenance appointments 3 sessions for $600. No thank you, I will gladly keep using the $70 laser machine I got off Amazon. read more

This was my first time ever at laser away. For the last few years I have been an avid waxer and I decided that it was finally time to prep for laser. So far the service is ok. I signed for a lot of treatments and spent quite a bit of money, approx $10k. Looking back there was not a show and tell during the consultation. It was mostly verbal. I work in an environment when a lot of information comes at you and you have to process and understand. I followed most of it. I wish I would have paused and not signed up for so many items, especially when I look at the website today and there is 65% off treatments, I signed up on Dec 30 and was told "this is the last day for the sale". Disappointed on the pricing. Will give an update once I go through the few treatment. As for aesthetics of the place, I would expect it to be nicer, more decorated. SO I wrote a review about year ago when I first began my journey with laser hair removal. I found it somewhat difficult to find someone I really thought did a thorough job until I began seeing Nancy. Unfortunately, I was only able to snag her for two sessions before she left LaserAway which was a total bummer considering I had seen a few other ladies who were very kind and courteous but lacked a bit in the diligence department (in my own personal opinion). Last night I had an appointment to try another new gal I'd never seen before who has a sterling reputation according to one of my favorite gals who works the front desk (Christina, here's lookin' at you, kid. You're the best!). When I arrived for my appointment I was told my gal who I was scheduled with called out for the day and I there was a girl named Naky who was pinch-hitting for the evening. AND BOY DID SHE DO THE DAMN THING. Naky was extremely professional and surprisingly chipper for me being her last patient of the day. She was insanely thorough and made sure every inch was zapped appropriately. Amazing "bedside manner" AND efficiency? Yes ladies and gents... it does exist. Naky mentioned she usually is found working at the Pasadena location which is a total bummer on my end considering I live in the South Bay. She was there by chance, so if you're lucky enough to magically snag an appointment with her at this location then kudos to you. Hoping she will make more appearances in Hermosa Beach so I can have faith in my laser hair removal journey being a successful one!! read more

Don't let the name deter you from getting cosmetic fillers. They do those too. I have had botox many times from plastic surgeons, to medical spas, which unfortunately I was told that my metabolism is high that my body does metabolize the botox or hyaluronic acid quickly. So, when my last botox, which was in BH lasted 5 weeks, it was time for me to find a new place. I really need to find a new place where the nurse practitioner will tell me her name ( the last place, I had to ask her what her name was) and go through the procedure thoroughly and asked if I had any questions. Hillarie, was her name and she was very nice and she did a great job. I'll be back, hopefully not in 5 weeks though! LOL! read more
