Today was my first time at the Kirkland LaserAway location, this is a new location so it was really nice inside. All of the equipment is brand new and there are even TVs inside the laser rooms. I've gotten laser treatment before at LaserAway in the Bay Area, and this one in Kirkland was so much better. Everything was super clean and the rooms were new so everything was updated. I wanted to love LaserAway so much, but honestly the experience has been really disappointing. They advertised a referral program where both the person referring and the person referred get $100. I brought three people and gave the staff all their information three different times during my appointments. Every time, they told me they would "fix it," but nothing was ever added to my account -- not even to my friends' accounts. The last time I called about it, the guy literally hung up on me. They are always 30-60 minutes late on appointments. The front desk is sassy and there scheduling system is completely unprofessional. They dont take accountability in being late, nor their errors. I got clear and brilliant having melasma and it made it way worse. They didn't take accountability and told me I should have known from a dermatologist before. I saw a dermatologist before and they didn't know it was melasma, I had my consultation with a physician and neither identified it as melasma. Then when I finally got in, the tech ran 35 minutes late for my appointment, which meant that I had to leave mid-appointment for my next obligation. The service is ok if you don't know better. I hardly ever leave review unless the service is super awesome or worst ever. This is the worst ever review. Last year, I bought a package of 2 Thermage services and used my 1st apt. last year. I wasn't sure what to expect but after the service, I asked around including a different nurse who did the hydra facial and I was told that the Thermage service I received was performed incorrectly. First, they said Thermage wasn't painful so no numbing was provided. Which was BS. It hurt like H. and I am tough when it comes to pain. My GF got the same service and she applied numbing on herself and said it was still painful. Secondly, the nurse didn't explain to me the entire session of what she was doing. Turned out she lower the frequency to 0.5 and I could have upto 4.0. I got no result what soever from the level way too low. She didn't do the vector lift toward the end of the session. I then told the front desk and I was told that the manager was on vacation and I would hear back in 2 weeks. 3 weeks went by I didn't hear anything so I called back and told that the manager is not back from vacation. This year, I had the 2nd Thermage with a different nurse. The service was completely different. I had numbing cream so that I can handle the decent level of frenquency of 2.5. The new nurse did the vector lift for my cheeks and jaw lines. I told this nurse that I did complain but got no answer. She told me that Laseraway does that to all of their complains. They told everyone who had a complain that the manager was/is on vacation. In the matter of fact, someone out in the lobby a few minutes ago got the same answer. I then told the assistant manager (Gloria) who was trying to up-sale me additional services, that if she could help replace that 1st Thermage service I would consider continue going to this company. She told me she would raise my concern to upper management. It had been 3 or 4 months with many text messages to her, I got one respond said she still hasn't heard back from them. Clean and modern facility and front desk staff are friendly and welcoming but that's where it ends. The vibe here isn't great, they are constantly trying to up sell you on more treatments and packages and their laser love membership. You might be able to get a deal if you need the service but I was sold treatments that a dermatologist later told me I didn't need. And while they tell you they will refund you if you're not happy, they will find every way to reduce that refund down to nothing. The packages/points/membership model allows them to hide the true cost you can be refunded and the front desk staff give conflicting information with the sales "bestie" I was assigned. They are focused on the bottom line as opposed to the client so if you proceed, do so with caution. I've tried laser hair removal here as well as Clear & Brilliant and both have been fine. Each time has been with a different technician which makes me wonder if they have a high turnover rate as more experienced technicians/nurses move on to higher quality spas. Scheduling is all by phone or by texting with your sales "bestie" - I asked if they were working on an online scheduling system but they said that's not planned - which makes sense now, since if you were able to schedule online they would miss an opportunity to tell you about their latest "specials" and "deals." I hope to finish out the treatments I purchased without too much retaliation after writing this review, but I recommend avoiding working with this company. While the location is beautiful, Skinspirit is opening in the same complex and they don't have the same pushy-sales vibe, and my experience with their technicians/nurses has been far superior in terms of expertise and professionalism. read more

Update: I've finished my laser hair removal package and unfortunately it feels like it was a waste of time and money. The staff, while very friendly is not consistent with their work. Laser away has a policy where all employees are trained the same, and so you get a different person each time you visit. This is both uncomfortable due to the nature of some laser hair removal, and it's bad for business as some employees took their time and others rushed my appointments. Now I've completed my package and my hair growth is basically the same as where I started. Very disappointing. Especially because I don't even know which nurse did her job well and which didn't. I'm a customer that has been with Laseraway from my 20s. Yesterday I booked an appointment for C&B treatment in the morning today. Kirkland called me when I was getting ready that they weren't not able to give me the treatment because of an emergency. Instead they asked me if I would like to get in at 1:50pm today. I appreciated them calling me ahead of time and said yes.  Later in the afternoon I was on my way to Kirkland (about 40mins of a 24m drive), Rihanna called me and we figured out it was supposed to be 1:15 not 1:50pm. Then girl who called me in the morning was in a hurry and didn't even verify the time with me. She then went ahead and cancelled on me. I asked to check my package details and she said there were only 2 C&B left. I was shocked! Because I literally just purchased a Thermage (around $1500) with Rihanna last time! I couldn't believe my ears and asked to be transferred to customer service. She said "I am the CUSTOMER SERVICE!" When I stated the number wasn't right, Rihanna said "That is all I can see in your profile!" Then she started blasting the visits I had from 6y ago. I knew it was impossible to talk to her when she questioned "What help do you want to get from the customer service?!" Rihanna is just impossible to talk with. BTW that was after a nice conversation when I purchased a thermage from her last time.  So I called the call center and the representative confirmed I had 5 serious of C&B and 1 thermage left. That was a relief. They are really unprofessional employees working there. If Rihanna treated me like this, there were definitely more victims than you know. I just want to say everyone who wants to go to this Laseraway in Kirkland that they may pretend to be nice at first, but they will reveal the true rude nature. I recently visited Laser Away for treatment of my mild-moderate acne, but unfortunately had a less than satisfactory experience. To give context I used to get laser genesis or a signature facial from Skin Laundry that utilizes the ND:yag laser - but there aren't any locations in WA state so I looked at Laser Away's offerings. I thought the instant glow facial was a great option for me since it uses nd:yag, I told the sales lady that I had this same facial at skin laundry so I was immediately upsold to buy a package of 6 before I even had a consultation with their nurse. That same hour I had a zoom call with their nurse, and they didn't have any issue with me proceeding with instant glow. So, I go into their office, and their technician tells me the instant glow facial is only used to build collagen, and she didn't want to go over any active breakouts. She could not tell me what level of the skin layer the laser actually targets, because it's definitely not an ablative laser, but believed it's only for collagen building and nothing else. I was left alone for about 15 minutes and that's when I realized the technicians that use the machines aren't even nurses, they take photos and do some zoom call with an actual nurse while you're left alone in the room. I got turned away twice now for the state of my skin, so I asked for a refund, and I got back $880 after buying a package that was initially marked as $1899 but had a discount so it was brought down to $1329. This means they charged me $449 for the use of exactly 1 facial that didn't even cover 100% of my face. Additionally, I wasn't given the refund emails until I called again the next day. Like the other 1 star comment here, Laser Away will upsell you on packages without actual consideration of your skin, they don't have nurses onsite, and their whole business model is to push packages onto people and pressure buy. I would've happily swapped my instant glow for something , anything at all that could help with acne. Their IPL treatment is advertised to treat active acne, and their technician was not knowledgeable. She told me that it's only good for dark spots or some redness, and it won't treat cystic acne once it's already on the skin - super contradictory to what the website states, and their solution was for me to wait until my skin calms down on its own before coming back to try to utilize any of the facials I bought. read more

(See my EDIT to this initial review below) I am rounding my rating up, rather than down however I think a 3 or 3.5 is more fair. I have completed all but one of my treatments for laser hair removal and the results for my under arms and Brazilian have been good, but what has been lacking are larger areas or harder to get areas (legs, inner labia, a few more areas without going TMI). I have not had the same technician once out of all of the sessions I have been to which kinda makes the whole process less enjoyable. It's clear they are not all trained the same and this is my main issue. I read a review that they are all trained the same and this cannot be true from my experience. Some people have been really detail oriented, but some go so fast that I'm watching them miss or forget complete sections. If I am paying for 8 sessions, that means I want every area I've paid for to be lasered exactly the same. I also don't want to have to remind them each time "please make sure to get my back side" - shouldn't there be notes in the system for them to know what we are lasering? Half of the sessions they didn't do some of the TMI areas which I don't understand why (admittedly I am usually too embarrassed to ask so I leave feeling slightly disappointed). While half of my results are good, I'm coming into my last session kinda disappointed. My hair & skin type is perfect for laser hair removal, so there's no issue with that. For the price I'm paying and the national brand of Laser Away, I expected more. P.S they are always trying to upsell, so much so, it feels that the business model cares more about quickly capturing someone with a flash sale than the actual service being provided. I would recommend finding a place or individual more local rather than going with this big brand for laser hair removal. EDIT: so I'm now changing my star rating from 4 to a 2 since clearly "Jamie" didn't read my actual review? I was trying to be nice and not affect their overall rating, but once again, beyond disappointed with this company. Avoid this place if you can! Regret taking a package with them. If you have medium skin, they are not trained to give you a good result. After 9 sessions on my face, and 8 on underarm there is barely any result. They keep saying that some people need more than 10 and asked if i wanted to buy another package. They go so quickly over the face, and not thoroughly on each spot. Just completed my first appointment with LaserAway in Totem Lake, Kirkland and have nothing but great things to say about my experience. First off, the front desk staff are incredibly welcoming and very knowledgeable! Any questions I had were answered and I felt more than prepared for the first appointment and the after care to follow. Scheduling was/is easy and they are able to accommodate my busy work schedule with the appointment options available. Secondly, the technicians are very professional and I feel put the customer first to garner the best results possible. In fact, the technician had informed me that I had too much spray tan in a particular area, which could impact results and cause hyperpigmentation, we went forth with my remaining services and I was quickly rescheduled a few days later to treat the area she advised we wait on. My husband and I love this place! It goes beyond the fact that our skin and body look healthy and refreshed. The staff is phenomenal. They are so awesome, so welcoming, and great at what they do.
