Stay away from this place: I purchased LazerAway's Groupon for 3 IPL photo facials. After they had me fill out 6 pages of I met with the sales person who tried to sell me 4 other treatments and even said they could apply the Groupon amount I had paid. The a " nurse" took my photo which I believe is an invasion of privacy, and after sending the photo "to another office" she determined that my skin was olive and not the correct shade for the treatment (even though I do not have olive skin and have had the same treatment done before at other spas.- she took a photo of me with heavy makeup on which I mentioned) Before finding out that was not the right candidate, they tried to sell me about $6000 of treatments that they would discount. They lure you in with a discounted offer, tell you you are not the right candidate and then try to sell you everything they possibly can. read more

I went to a consultation for tattoo removal at the La Jolla location back in May and ever since then, I have been in love with laser away. When the financial professional gave me a quote on how much my tattoo would be to remove, I was almost sure I was going to have the cut the tattoo off myself. Ok I'm kidding but the price seemed high to me. I looked around at other locations and they all gave me a quote at least $1,500 more than laser away. I returned about a week later with an attempt to negotiate and I was informed that I can get the laser tattoo removal at a 25% discount if I paid in full. I also used a student and military discount to get my to an acceptable price range. The first session hurt. It was really bad to be honest. I have such a low pain and the medical professionals could tell. After a few zaps of the laser she was concerned about my pain and she put an ice pack on my arm for about 5 min and turned the laser down to a lower setting (they offer numbing cream but I thought I wouldn't need it at first) after that she was able to continue on my arm and I was only getting the laser for 5 min total. Very quick process. I ended up putting a. Atrial healing cream on my tattoo once I got home and I blistered pretty bad. I read the aftercare paper they gave me and I did the first thing they said not to do. It went down with ice and keeping the newly lasers area slathered in the recommended healing ointment they provided. I then returned to New York and they transferred all of my sessions. I come to this location and it was a very welcoming and friendly environment. The assistant had me come 30 min early and let the numbing cream sit for 30 min. Then the woman layering my arm has the same setting as my chart said they used at the other location. She did a few zaps and it didn't hurt nor did i notice. I asked if we could turn it up so that we could go faster so she did. With testing a few settings, we were in the highest setting and it still didn't hurt. This cream was amazing. I followed all after care and my tattoo was fine. No blistering but very sensitive. After 3 days my arm was healed and my skin was soft again. I use the sunscreen that they gave me every day and was able to protect. Y skin until next time. I just had my third session and healed and my tattoo is at least 70% gone. I am very impressed with the services and the staff. Also, after the third session of tattoo removal I purchased the sunset laser HAIR removal and they have mastered hair removal as well. I have waxed my entire life and decided to try laser. I did the Brazilian first and it was painless. Did not hurt at all. I would never wax again. The laser hurts less than shaving. The physician that did my Brazilian got every inch of all the surfaces, she even extended a about 6 inches onto my inner thigh for the peach fuzz. This place is really amazing and I would not go anywhere else but here. read more

I purchased 8 sessions for legs, brazilian & underarms for $2000+. The sessions were always performed by different girls so there isnt much personalized service. I was left waiting for over an hour once and had my appointment cancelled without my knowledge another time, they took care of it by offering a small area single session laser hair removal but when I finished my treatment the girl at the front desk informed me I had used them already-which I 100% did not but couldn't be bothered to argue since with the 8 sessions I noticed maybe a 10-20% decrease in hair...being optimistic. Its been a little over a month since my last session and I am back to shaving twice a week. Waste of money.. read more

Don't ever buy from this business. They refused to give me Botox based on a drug interaction that doesn't exist. They made me wait an hour to tell me I couldn't have my procedure done. I went for a second laser treatment today and had a very different experience from the first time. I had read that there was virtually no down time and that one should expect something like a sunburn, could go back to work and that the entire procedure was not a big deal. Last time I could not wait to get home, my face was on fire and all I could think of was running to Duane reader to purchase aloe Vera. I had come by car and blasted the AC which was the best thing that happened to me all day! The heat does not last and after about an hour I felt much better in the evening I was ok again Today my nurse was Jenna and the experience was lightyears ahead from last time. She offered an air chiller basically cold air blown into my face during the treatment! big difference. She also left the cooling mask on for a few minutes versus the 30 seconds I got last time. I left feeling like a normal human being! I would give 5 stars if everyone was as great as Jenna but there seem to be differences in care and experience. If you go you must demand the air chiller if you have any laser done in your face!!!!! Everything else is pure abuse! read more

I had my second session with LaserAway at this location and loved it. Lady, the RN that did the session, was AMAZING! She was present, warm and welcoming. She checked in with me to make sure that I wasn't in too much pain, brought the ice pack for the super sensitive areas and walked me through the proper post care once I was completed. She was a bit worried that a patch of my skin would have a reaction to the laser (I was in the sun) so she tested a small section and then continued after she saw that there was no reaction. Visited Laseraway today for the first time since Covid. First off they are super diligent & in compliance with all Covid Safety protocols. Temperature Checks & Mask wearing & Social distancing. My nurse ( Alison?) was truly amazing. She performed my Clear & Brilliant treatment expertly & we chatted easily which took away any discomfort I might have felt. Carissa & other front desk girl( forgive me I didn't get her name) were Soooo welcoming & Cheery& beyond helpful from the second I walked in. Will definitely be back! My recent visit was a wonderful experience. I went in for several treatments. The staff; both front desk and the technicians treated me with patience and care. They explained everything thoroughly and treated me with professionalism and respect. They made me feel very welcomed and comfortable. The space is immaculate! I went to this place bc of a Groupon. Everytime I go, I have a completely different technician which means every experience is very different. Why have I never had the same technician? Is it because they have high turnover? I figure it must be (I've been going for months!), which is NOT a good sign. I had one technician who allowed me to tell her how much of my chin was included in the session (which was nice) and another who outfight refused to do any more lasering when I told her that the last technician had covered a larger area. It took her thirty seconds and she only did the very bottom of my chin! I've had other good techs and other bad ones too -- it's just super inconsistent. The main reason for the low review is because at my last session, the technician burned my skin. i have had laser hair removal ALL over my body (all over the world: in London, Karachi, and Chicago) and I've NEVER been burned by a laser before. As a South Asian who has been getting her hair removed through waxing, epilating, threading, and lasering for two decades now, I have tough skin and a very high pain tolerance, so the fact that Laser Away managed to actually cause me pain and BURN my skin says A LOT. I now have an open and raw burn below my lip that is so uncomfortable and unsightly. It better not leave a scar! I just can't believe the technician burned my skin!!!! I will NOT be going back there and I will be telling my friends to stay away too. read more

I purchased a package for my lip,legs,under arms,and Brazilian (for an amazing price if I may add). THIS IS THE WORST PLACE. They get all the appointment times wrong, the machines are always broken, nurses many times are unable to come which delays the procedures (because they should always have 2 nurses at the same time). The people at the front desk are not nice at all. The procedure for laser hair removal is extremely expensive and it did not work at all on me. It was a waste of my money. If you need to get this procedure done, look elsewhere! I can assure you it will be less stressful and more effective than this place. read more

Beware of any IPL Groupons this company offers. They actually cannot do IPL on skins that are any darker than light skin which is not specified on the Groupon. As a result they try to push a collagen laser which is not the same thing at all. I have medium skin and have had IPL before and it's never been an issue. Also beware of their VERY LENGTHY terms that they make you sign which contain an ARBITRATION CLAUSE which is bad for the customer. read more

I never felt like she was trying to up-sell or push a certain product on me. I highly recommend working with Paige! The RN was amazing as well. While this location is convenient and clean, they will sell you a package but then not have any appointments available for you to book for nearly a month out. They are more than happy to take your money (and this was the SECOND lasering package I've purchased for $1400) but then offer little room for collecting on the services which you have already paid for. My advice? Pay by the session and don't be held hostage by their lack of availability. read more
