I was spoken to like an employee when stating my concerns. Which was wild. I had to remind them that I didn't work for LaserAway. Brian, their HR payroll rep spoke for 20 minutes and I was only allowed to speak for 1 minute. I let him know that I was recording the call and was confused during it because he spoke to me like he was about to fire me and stated he "concluded", the call. I was bewildered but then regained my composure to let him know I didn't work for him but was a paying customer. What a unprofessional company. He's the one responding to yelp reviews. I actually thought I would get another laser appointment scheduled when I called only to realize they were going Def-con 5 on their clients. Now I know I complained early on in my laser treatment and went silent because of their sweet front desk workers. Luckily I got the area manager who was having a bad day and from the convo I had with her, I quickly realized what a scam this place was. WHY I WENT HERE: - laser hair removal (underarms + Brazilian) - recommended/referred by family and friends who have done laser hair removal treatments through LaserAway THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located on 19th St in between Q St and S St - located in the same plaza as Safeway - some homeless are in the area, so the doors are locked (even during business hours) until you're actually at the door for the ladies at the front desk to buzz you in THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - floor to ceiling windows; lots of natural light in the lobby CUSTOMER SERVICE/OVERALL EXPERIENCE: - I had started making inquiries about pricing, packaging, etc. when I still had wax packages elsewhere to fulfill; so while I was still finishing my wax package elsewhere I had already started making payments for my laser package (I opted for the payment plan vs. cash it out; I ensured that I made my payments such that it was within the time period that I wouldn't incur interest) - I did like that my appointment reminders were via email, text, and calls; however, I did show up once to my appointment and they did not have it in their system at all - Registered Nurses are the people who actually laser you; but the ladies in the front desk are receptionists - I had a different RN each time I visited (only ever went to this location) - since I did underarms and Brazilian, when I went to my procedure room, I would undress (able to wear a sports bra) and put on the towel wrap snap-on; the sensation of the laser feels like rubberbands snapping onto your skin; I would personally recommend taking ibuprofen prior to your appointment to help numb you a bit; aftercare I did always ask for the aloe/hydrocortisone mixture (you can even have an ice pack if you wish) - after my package was completed I did wait an additional 2-3 months to see if I felt I personally needed a maintenance package; I am satisfied with my minimal hair growth and didn't opt for a maintenance package read more

I had been going to them for an extended period of time with decent results. More recently I purchased a package of six sessions for $1,400 to complete the removal of the portrait on my shoulder. I explained to the technician that I wanted "everything besides the rose" lasered off and she went on to remove part of the rose, which was a beautiful tattoo that I really loved. I messaged them to try and find a solution and I got no reply (photo). I now have to make the choice of a costly removal of the rose or get the tattoo filled in again, both totally preventable and costly processes I had no desire to do. This has been such a GREAT experience for me! I am on my 6 out of 8 laser hair removal treatments for Brazilian, Underarms, and Toes. There is pain, but it's so quick and the results are worth every "ouch" and penny! I've shaved, Naired, Waxed (which hurts WAY more than laser) and my skin would still get bumps etc. I am now smooth as a baby, I plan to get my legs next.. I highly recommend! I read some of the negative reviews and I couldn't disagree more. I've only gone to the 19th street location and I've never had a long wait time, I've actually been taken back sometimes earlier than my apt time. They are so pushy. They don't list their prices on the website, and if you want information, you have to share your contact details. Then suddenly, you start getting countless phone calls from them trying to convince you to book appointments. Dude, I just called to ask about pricing, not to be pressured into booking sessions. Stop being so freaking pushy. The lady I spoke to would not stop talking and kept trying to force me into buying the package. We were on call for an HOUR, I was polite at first and did not want to be rude and I told her I was only asking for prices because I want to make sure I'm in a good financial position before booking sessions. I just wanted to see if I could afford it and save up but she wouldn't listen. Instead, she gave me terrible advice, targeting my self-confidence and saying I'd feel awful if I didn't do this, that I "deserve to feel beautiful." Like, who the hell said I feel ugly with body hair? She even told me it's wrong to prioritize being financially smart, and that I should think about my body and confidence first. Excuse me? CAUTION!!!!!!!!!!! Unprofessional, Disorganized, and Disrespectful Management I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at LaserAway. Beyond the frequent last-minute appointment cancellations and consistently poor scheduling, the way management handled the situation was completely unacceptable. Despite having a scheduled appointment, I was left waiting 45 minutes to be seen. When I asked for an explanation, the manager offered excuses instead of taking responsibility. To make matters worse, she brought her supervisor onto the call -- not to resolve the issue, but to berate me and minimize my concerns. I was spoken to in a condescending tone and made to feel as if my time and feelings didn't matter at all. Rather than taking accountability or offering a real solution, they deflected and doubled down. This experience showed a complete lack of professionalism, empathy, and customer care. Given the prices they charge, I expected a much higher level of service and respect. I strongly advise others to think twice before committing to a business that treats its clients this way. And not just 2 or 3, sometimes 12, like what I "needed". If you bundle the thousands of dollars worth of sessions, you may have to finance it, which means you're paying upfront for something you haven't gotten yet. Don't do it! 2. It is very painful. They will do the best they can to numb you but everyone takes to topical anesthetics differently. For those who have the gene for red hair, it may not take at all. I've had most of my body lasered at the Midtown LaserAway. I'm South Asian (medium brown) and have had no issues with their Nd:YAG laser. In contrast, I got light burns + bad hyperpigmentation from a Vectus machine at a different med spa. The facility itself is clean, secure, and comfortable. The people in it--reception and the RNs--are kind, compassionate, and non-judgmental. Like I never felt embarrassed to bare all or ask Qs. They also share their knowledge and personal experiences w/ various treatments. Last thing - I can be quiet, so I appreciate nurses that initiate a conversation. Past few times I've been to this location Haley has greeted me and got me settled in the room. If you were thinking of getting laser hair removal go to any company but LaserAway. I try to give this big corporate company. The benefit of the doubt and I got screwed over almost $5000. Those consultations that they do isn't with the nurse. It's actually a sales rep and it's not an actual consultation. I was told I was a "perfect candidate" for laser hair removal during my consultation. After eight sessions I am still waiting for the results. We went up to the highest setting and I cannot believe I wasted almost $5000. During one of my sessions in Sacramento I was told it looks like the Folsom location was actually missing a whole bottom side of my armpit and they were not getting that area treated... I was completely shocked when one of the nurses told me this. I did a post treatment evaluation due to the lack of results on all my areas (Brazilian lower legs and arm pits) and of course the only thing they recommended was I purchase more sessions. I am so disappointed!!!!! my sister went to get laser done at SEV in Roseville and has had such amazing results I regret not going there the treatment is cheaper and more effective! I was told by some horrible HR person named Brian that if I purchased 3 more treatments I would get 1.5 for free. This place is a scam. They steal peoples money with results that aren't even 40%. Went in to get my tattoo removed. The website didn't say shit about not being able to do tattoo removal on my face. I was very clear on what & where the tattoo was prior to booking an appointment drove all the way from Arden to Roseville, & filled out all the paperwork waited for almost a hr. just to be turned away because they don't do tattoo removals on the face.
