My visit to Lash Lab was relaxing, professional and time well spent. The staff was courteous throughout my visit and my lashes came out looking great. I hardly wear makeup and now with the lashes that's one less step to looking and feeling beautiful. I went with the classic look, just enough to highlight my eyes. I understand that they offer various looks depending on what look works for you. The shop is located on Union Street (I believe Cow Hollow area) next to a lot of cute boutiques and eateries. I heard so many bad experiences from some of my girlfriends about lash extensions and was afraid to try it out. But after doing a ton of research, I found Lash Lab - one of the only lash extensions spas that carefully selects their products and aestheticians to ensure the best quality results. I wanted something super special done for my birthday and set an appointment with Lash Lab. They were super accommodating, very professional, and very patient will all my neurotic questions about the process and products. I've already gotten one fill since my original appointment and the experience has been consistent. My hair and make-up artist even made a comment that she has not seen any good lash extensions places in the west coast (only good ones she's seen has been in NYC). She's very impressed too. I've been getting my lashes done for 10 years. I tried out lash lab for the first time because I needed to find a lash technician for my wedding. After my service, my lashes were glued together, and it was painful to close my eyes. I also looked like a joke. My stylist did not listen to my requests. I cried. My natural lashes are permanently damaged because of this experience, and I am praying they will grow back before my wedding. I went to a different salon the next day for lash removal, and they recommended going to a dermatologist to get a prescription that would help with lash regrowth. That's how bad it was. I'm sure they would have tried to fix my lashes if I gave them this feedback... but there is no way I'd ever, ever go back. They are clearly incapable. It's negligent to do such bad work and charge money for it. How can I give 0 stars? read more

I've been going to Lash Lab since October and I've been meaning to write a review for Deb but haven't had the time. Deb is extremely delicate and professional at all times. She first started me with the natural diva ($319) and I wasn't sure what style I wanted so I told her to do whatever she wanted. I pretty much go in for a fill every three weeks and spend $99 and I love it every time. The extensions are on the pricey side but I'd rather spend a few extra bucks knowing that I don't permanently lose all of my real lashes. A few things to remember: (1) do not get your lashes wet within the first 24 hours (2) remember to bring cash for gratuity (3) there's street parking so bring enough coins Trust me, you'll get addicted once you get them done. read more

Weren't born with full long glamorous lashes? Don't worry ladies, because now you can buy them. Lash Lab is beautifully done. Like walking up to an apartment or boutique on Union, with chic white interior with black trim, hanging chandeliers and lounge, with rows of sleeping women, waking up an hour later, more beautiful and feminine, than when they walked in. This place is a little more pricey than some other places that you might find, but they pride themselves on proper placement of the lashes, so when they do fall out, you can maintain healthy lashes. Definitely top notch service and they didn't damage my real lashes. Lasts about three weeks. Great for special events, summer getaways where you don't want to bother with make up, or everyday. If I were you I wouldn't read into the few bad reviews LashLab has received. They have provided me with the best set of eyelash extensions ever! I currently live in NYC where eyelash extensions are so popular that the rate is very inexpensive (especially compared to SF rates). So naturally when I see most places in SF charge a minimum of $200 I was definitely taken back but so far I've had extensions with Lash Lab & another competitor also located on union st. The other place was bigger but Unfortunately it was by far the worst experience I've ever had. So now that I've returned to SF I vow to remain a loyal customer of Lash Lab. If you're lucky you can catch a deal on Yelp which makes the extensions a bit more affordable. Just keep in mind they are SO worth it and they last 2-3 weeks. Their bungalow is small and cozy. I can't understand why anyone would complain about the space though. The woman who did my lashes was a total sweetheart and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable during my session. I will also note that their table is the MOST comfortable of any eyelash extension studio I've ever been to. So comfortable in fact I kept dozing off and snoring (so embarrassing but true)! The receptionist has always been incredibly kind and has done her best to accommodate my appointment requests anytime I'm in town. Lastly and most importantly, Hands down, Lash Lab has provided the best set of eyelash extensions I've ever received ... did I say that already? ;-) Thanks again Ladies! Lash Lab is amazing. The prices are high, but the results are worth it. I get the volume set and every time I have gone for a fill, I am incredibly pleased! They always look so dang good. I was warned when I got my first full set that I may have a number of lashes fall out...However, that did not happen. I was able to wait three weeks to get a fill and practically had all my lashes in place. The only thing that needed to be fixed was my natural lash grow out. LOVE. I highly recommend this spot. I have been getting lash extensions at various places in SF for quite sometime and I decided to check out Lash Lab. I had heard good things about this place but wasn't sure with the secret-ness of the private bungalow what to expect so I gave them a try and have found my go to place for lash extensions in SF. I have never found any lashes so natural along with not even feeling like I have lashes on. The technician did a very thorough job for my one hour forty five minute full set session and it was completely comfortable and relaxing experience. It's a very cute bungalow and super private. I am looking forward to my fill. The reservations are easy and the staff is super nice. I remember during my treatment, I had shifted my legs a little and the front desk woman asked me immediately if I was comfortable and if there was anything she could do for me. I tried other places and was unsatisfied. WHEN I FOUND LASHLAB, I FELL IN LOVE. ------------------------------------------------ PROFESSIONALISM - I called and Arlette was very professional. She broke it all down for me very clear and I was impressed. Sometimes trying a new place is very nerve wrecking but she was very patient and answered all my questions. She gave me options and it was all up to me to decide what I wanted. She gave me directions AND I received a reminder text message about my appointment. VENUE - Great design, very cute, modern, it's actually very clean and you'll see that they are thoughtful; there's water, mouthwash, lotion, make-up remover, etc, etc, etc. They also mention that the restroom is available if you need to use it. Whether its Hillie or Deb my lashes look amazing, you won't tell the difference on who put them. I love the way Hillie does my lashes too. She puts the lashes on layer by layer to make sure every single lash has an extension, then when she's done, she does final touches. I seriously cannot do without my lashes. I usually go to HIllie now just because my schedule has been working out like that. I went to Hawaii 3x this year and my lashes never came off even after surfing or all the traveling I do. I will actually see her tomorrow and I am all booked for the whole rest of the year. I know they used to do make up as well that's why they always both look cute when you walk in to get your lashes done. Also, Hillie will let you know her true opinion whether how curly or long you want your lashes. EVERYONE THINKS THESE ARE MY "REAL" LASHES - THAT'S HOW YOU WANT THEM. MY BF THOUGHT THEY WERE REAL FOR MONTHS WHEN WE FIRST MET!!!! THE PRICE -- I HAVE BEEN TO CHEAPER BUT NOT SO GOOD PLACES. I KNOW OF OTHER PLACES THAT ARE EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE. THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. ALSO - I get the Diva not the mink, I've never tried mink because I just like them thicker. TIP : It takes a while to find parking, so get there ahead of time. On a whim I decided to get lashes, of course I knew nothing about them and the Lash Lab helped guide me through what my options were, how the process works and how it would work being 8 months pregnant too! I was booked with Jessica and what a dream! I couldn't have been paired better. Jessica is so amazingly precise, kind, patient, interesting, dedicated, honest, and just a talented pleasure. She is so gifted with working on this microscopic scale and has such an eye for what esthetically looks good on your face, you are bound to come out looking a million times better but natural. She added just the right amount in all the right places so my lashes look real. I walked out and got so many compliments right away! Safeway pharmacist, just random people everywhere just all of the sudden say, god! You are the most beautiful pregnant woman and you are so pretty! Coincidence the compliments came right then and half the time I am not even wearing makeup! Pregnancy glow? Nope, I think not, I know its the lashes!!!!!!!! Thank you Jessica for taking pride in your work and making me feel gorgeous when I didn't feel it before and its amazing what a few lashes can do to make your daily routine easier and how much it changes your look after.... Considering lashes, do it! Try it and of course book Jessica if you can, although all of their staff look extremely competent to me.... Lash Lab is worth a few extra dollars because they use quality products and spend time with you and plain just do it right, and this is something that should be done right. Suzanne did my lashes. The first time I went, I requested Natural Woman in mink. It came out nice--very natural, but a little sparser than I would have hoped. I wanted to go more bling however, so when I came for my fill, I requested an upgrade to Diva. As it turns out, my Asian lashes are too teeny and lame for this. They just weren't able to support the weight. Suzanne was very upfront about it, and I appreciate that she cared about the "health" of my lashes and that she didn't charge me for something I couldn't have. The second time around they put on shorter lashes (mine were curling the wrong way because of the weight). A few suggestions... Bring headphones. I'm not able to open my eyes during the session, but there was a little too much talking happening for me to actually nap. Some music the second time around resolved this. Not wetting your lashes... super easy. Get some oil-free face wipes, and you don't have to worry about a dirty face or wet lashes. Again, not everyone's lashes can handle dense or long extensions. The difference for me wasn't quite as dramatic as I would've liked, but this doesn't seem to be the fault of Lash Lab. All in all, I prefer extensions to perming, and I'd definitely come back. :) read more

During the first session, you will be asked to describe the type of look/lashes that you want - they even ask that you draw them to make sure that what you want is being communicated. Sayana has been doing my lashes for about 5 months- and she is the BEST. She's very gentle during application (I fall asleep during a lot of the sessions) and has made sure my lashes look beautiful but also natural (which is exactly what I want - my lashes are naturally very light so I just want a little bit of natural boost). People constantly compliment them and say how natural they look. I love that I wake up in the mornings and automatically look put together with my lashes. I unfortunately am moving from SF to Chicago, and Sayana went above & beyond by offering me advice on what to look for in the next salon I go to. Lash lab and Hillie have saved my sparse, short, non existent lashes. HALLELUJAH MY LASHES HAVE RISEN. I used to go to a lash extension salon where the the lady would take about an hour for a full volume set. Almost 200 dollars later, I would awake with lashes that weren't even visible even I looked up. #monolidproblems Disappointed, the owner would console me saying that this was the absolute most she could put on my lashes. In comes Hillie, who is not only a gorgeously amazing kind lash artist, but she gave me lashes that were so much more voluminous and long and fluffier. For an Asian girl, her lashes are her face. So they have to have personality and attitude. ;) I am convinced that Hillie is the best thing since sliced bread. I have recommended her to many of my girlfriends and they all agree! I have always been really self-coincidence about my lashes and thought I was destined to have short lashes my entire life but then I found Susanna at Lash Labs. I get natural women and I must admit I get at least one or two compliments on my eyes every week. It's amazing how they make you look younger and less tired. Susanna is amazing and she always makes a point to ask me about my week. Plus she is so patient as I often have specific request and my eyes are always twitching. I not only enjoy the quality of her work but the conversations we have. The reception is also great and has often accommodates my last minute schedule changes. Fantastic work! Every artist at Lash Lab is highly skilled! A bit pricey but the quality of the work and products are A+. I get the Diva mink set. While I wish my extensions were fuller, I know it's because my natural lashes are sparse and that they glue the extensions on my natural lashes so the ladies at Lash Lab want to make sure they don't damage my real lashes in an attempt to give me pretty peepers. I've tried other salons, and other artists are so preoccupied with adding as many (long) lashes on as possible that they sometimes ruin your real lashes in the process. Lash Lab is all about maintaining the health and integrity of your real lashes. For this, I'd rate them higher than most lash extensions salons. read more

I've had my lashes done before prior to finding Lash Lab and they were never what I expected or wanted. They would fall out easily and they did not lay smooth, sometimes they would cross over one another and they were too long. I found Lash Lab through a friend and a local San Francisco native and I am so happy! My eyelashes are thin and short and I decided to go for Diva. Deb did my lashes and she did a fantastic job! I've been going to Deb for a few months now and i do not know what i would do without my lashes! They are fuller and longer and extremely natural no one ever asks if they are mine or not and I think that is because of the meticulous job Deb does. Iv'e been on two vacations (Europe and Cabo) and my lashes have lasted through both. In Cabo I was constantly in water and my lashes were still in tact after! I have been getting my lashes done by Katelyn at Lash Lab for over 2 years and I should have written a Yelp review a long time ago for them. My lashes always look awesome because of them and I am frequently stopped on the street/asked by coworkers about my lashes. They are so good that a lot of people assume they are natural and I am just blessed with amazing eyelashes! This is something I think Lash Lab does very well, they offer different types of lashes so people can go more natural or go more dramatic depending on what they are looking for. My lashes last up to a month and it really cuts down on my makeup routine in the morning, I wear minimal eye makeup when I have them in. I have always had great communication with Judy and Katelyn (and the rest of the team there). They are always very helpful if you need to reschedule an appointment or just want to ask some questions. They are not only great at doing lashes but they are also very nice people and I am happy/lucky to call them my friends! read more

The girl did not deliver what I asked for I feel. Despite the survey I completed and even describing what I wanted, I felt like I did not leave with a "fuller" lashline like I requested. Asked for Diva and left feeling like I got the Natural/Basic almost invisible lashes. The girl said she will use 15mm next time as this time she only used 12mm since SHE thought the thicker, longer ones would make my eyes look "too much" (said in her own way). How about taking more time to ask and discuss these mm widths BEFORE the service versus saying next time we will go thicker, since now I've spent $300 and these lashes look like my own with a coat of mascara. I've been going to them for years and seen Ivy, Marry, and Khaye - all 3 of which have done a great job and always give recommendations when I'm looking to mix up my lash style (e.g. cat to doll) and which lengths would compliment my eye shape best while still looking natural. Lash Lab is pricey, but the results are fabulous. Be prepared that the "secret bungalow" is an absolutely tiny area tucked away in a cute garden. Judy communicates with warmth and makes the reservation process speedy and easy - they make sure to be as accommodating as possible. I've received countless compliments since my Mink Diva and it was perfect for the holidays. The technician was a bit late for both my appointments (and as a result I felt a bit rushed during my initial visit), but they were apologetic and I know she was really trying (and coming from San Jose in pouring rain). Definitely top quality extensions and they take their time with each and every lash. Come prepared with music/podcasts - you'll be laying with your eyes closed for two hours! I have had very interesting lash extension journey. This would be the third lash extension business I have tried and I must say I was so impressed! First of all, because I was sort of bouncing between lash techs, they made it so easy and comfortable for me. They worked with my lashes from another tech and I was so pleased with the work even if it wasn't exactly what I wanted. I knew when I would come back next time my lashes would have looked phenomenal. Jade was amazing. I almost fell asleep, which says something since I have sensitive eyes and frankly live on caffeine; so she did a great job working with my twitchy eye lids. 10/10 experience. Judy has phenomenal customer service and she has so many great tips and I felt so comfortable getting my lashes done at Lash Lab based on the fact everyone sounded like they have tons of experience and trained well.
