The girls here were nice and so far my lashes look good, although I'm hoping I don't experience what others have here as far as them falling out within a week as it's only day one for me. As much as it pains me to do, I need to write here about how alarmingly lax this place was with COVID restrictions. While there are signs for CUSTOMERS to be masked, not all the staff is. My tech wore a visor only, no mask. A year into the pandemic we should all be aware of basic precautions and how those are ineffective without a mask that covers your face and nose. I didn't want to make a big deal and honestly naively assumed she would put one on when I got settled for my appointment. Obviously your eyes are shut the whole time so I didn't realize that never happened until it was over. Not only that, but if you're there for lashes you're sharing a room with everyone else who is also there for lashes + their techs. I've just never seen that before. On a busy Saturday that can be a packed room and there was no ventilation. They keep the door closed. When I got up and went back to the main area I noticed a few other employees also didn't have masks on. There was a nail tech completely bare faced mid appointment. It was so shocking I paused in my tracks. I know we are all tired and vaccinations are rolling out but most of CA is still not eligible. I hate to be a stickler but this is a business that provides services that require close contact and touching of faces, so flouting basic health precautions is unacceptable behavior and frankly made me question how clean their practices are in general. Super disappointing and unnerving experience as a first timer here and now I have to wait it out and hope to god no one was unknowingly positive. I've been going here for years and they've been great every time. I love the girls and the technicians have always been very nice and welcoming! However, today was the only time I was very disappointed. I had an appointment at 10AM this morning, I knew I was going to be more than 15 minutes so I called at 8:16AM , and I asked if I should cancel or is it okay to come at 1030 - the woman I spoke to told me it was okay not only for myself but my friend as well that we can still come because if we did not show up we would be charged the full service fee. I am and have always been aware of the 15 minute grace period and the charge of last minute cancellations - I just wanted to confirm if I can still show up and they can take me. However, around 10Am I get a call and was informed that they will not be able to have time to take us in anymore. I was 19 minutes away from the location when I was told this information. I live two hours away and I have never been late to any of my appointments , as I said I've been going here for YEARS and even referred a few friends here as well. I don't know why this place is rated 3.5 only. I've been going here for a few months and I've never had a bad experience. The shop is clean, the staff is accommodating. I prefer Mary but I've gone to other lash technicians and they've all been relatively nice and easy to work with. Some do like to do a more "glamorous" look and will go with longer lashes when I ask for a more subdued, natural look, but nothing outrageous. They now use a smaller gage lash extension which looks really natural and soft. I frequently get compliments on my lashes and how natural they look. Mary just really gets my vibe and the look I'm after... The price point is also a huge positive. Their services are affordable and reasonable as compared to other chain lash shops that I've had memberships with....I don't think you can find a better deal. If there is, I certainly haven't seen it. Do share if you know of one though! Lastly, I see the complaints about the language thing...I totally get it but I personally don't care. Horrible service. Even worse customer service. They will put too heavy of eyelashes on you, which will make your natural eyelashes fall out. These lash techs are not well trained. They do not care about the health of your eyelashes/eyes. I had a set done and the eyelashes were placed so close to the root that it hurt so much. I had to get the whole set removed right after. They used so much glue I had splotched of glue all over my lash line and even eyelid. My throat and nose burned the whole time during the 3 hour session. The lash tech did not ask if I was okay even once. The other girl who removed the eyelashes for me left crud in my eye, which fell into my eye and felt like rocks. She also left me unattended for 10+ minutes while removing the eyelashes. She put the remover on me and left without saying a single word. I wasn't even able to tell anyone that my eyes were burning like crazy. The last photo is them responding to my review on Instagram story. They also called my eyelashes "complicated" in another story, but I wasn't able to screenshot it before they deleted it. Sorry, I'm ASIAN and don't have as blessed hair as Armenians do? Wow what a horrible experience. I was looking forward to this appointment because it was the first time I got my eyelashes done since COVID and I could NOT regret my decision more. This place is horrible, dirty, loud, packed in full which is ILLEGAL with COVID right now and no health or safety precautions are being followed at all. They did not take my temperature when I walked in nor did they they even properly wear their masks. The reception girl and most eyelash ladies had their nose out and were wearing masks to big for them that they literally kept having to hold their masks up. It was so uncomfortable because I felt the air from her nose on my face the whole time. The room was so packed in that I was bumped into two times during my extensions and I got poked in the eye once. Further my eyes hurt so bad both during and after the extensions. It felt like all they care about is money it's not a peaceful and clean environment as you would expect when your getting your lashes done. The technicians and clients are on the phone for your whole appointment and there is a loud blow dryer being used the whole time. This was honestly such a low class horrible experience I WOULD NEVER go back. I had to tell jasmine who was doing my eyes multiple times that she was hurting me it literally felt like she was poking needles into my eyelid. The work is so sloppy and looks nothing like it does on their Instagram. This place is honestly a scam who DOES NOT care about clients but only quantity of people they can shove into their store. It's so sad. Even when I walked in there was a customer and eyelashes tech fighting in front of everyone about the lack of masks and how uncomfortable they were making her feel. I should have known to walk out right then but I wanted to give them a chance due to Nikita dragons post about Ana but god am I disappointed. My eyes have been in so much pain that I looked at yelp and I'm so worried that the eye bleeding and swelling that has happened to other people who went to lashes de Anna will happen to me. The receptionist could see I was unhappy and told me I can come back in 3 days but I'm honestly so scared to step into the establishment because I genuinely feel like if your not going to get COVID from them you will get a eye Infection. Also, let's just add how bad the application looks. The previous review about Instagram verses reality does not even do justice for how bad my whispy cat eyes look. Update: the owner replied. First of all the blood filled in my eye was not from the "eyepatch underneath." It was from YOUR LOW QUALITY LASHES. They were black plastic, poking me in my eye and skin. Second of all, simple eye drops would not have helped. My eyelids are still swollen and filled with blood. I will NEVER return to your salon ever again. Regardless of everything being 6 feet apart, it's still not nice when you want to relax and get beautified when someone on the other side of the room is trying to fix house problems loudly over the phone. You guys should've had the common courtesy to ask her to step out or put up a sign that says "limited cellphone usage" your lashes were literally stabbed in my eye and this is the result of it. Had a terrible eye irritation, the lashes they use is very bad quality plastic and thick and the technicians are newly graduates, using the same room for 10 plus people at the same time, a lady on the phone talking the entire time solving her house problems while everyone can hear . My two eyes are so bad full of blood . I won't ever in my life go back to this place, they all care making money but not satisfying the clients, also the e mail said it would cost me $150 but they charged me $200. If I am paying that much I should get a good service with someone who knows what to do. I had to take those horrible eye lashes out I was in pain and irritation and infection. I went In for a full set and the lash tech literally pulled my eye lid up and stuck eyelashes in. The lashes are also very cheap and plastic - my eyes are sore from being poked and prodded. I said something about it during the appt and she said it's just burning from the glue and it should go away in a few minutes. It's been 12 hours and I'm still in pain and my eyes are sore. Do yourself a favor and never go here. Worst experience ever. I called and asked them to cancel my fill appt and for a refund. I was told that the manager would give me a call to sort that out. They offered to let me come in for a removal- but tbh I don't trust them to do anything correctly. Will post a reply to this review Re the status of the refund and what the manager says. EDIT: the manager called. Apparently the manager was there when I called last night. Here are the key points- 1. She was frustrated that I went somewhere else to get the lashes removed- this makes no sense to me -- why would I trust them to do it? 2. She said that I can get a refund if I come in today or tomorrow in person because the online system won't let them do refunds (this was a flat out lie cuz she could have Zelle'd me for it), I explained to her that I'm out of town and won't be back till next week, she said then no refund. 3. She said and I quote "she's legally covered"- it's clear that this sort of thing has happened multiple times and she needed to get a waiver signed by everyone cuz she has had issues with people getting hurt. 4. She was more upset about the fact that I did not come to her to get the removal done than the fact that my eyes were in pain and sore. Honestly if she was apologetic and empathetic I would've not really cared about the refund. But she wasn't, she tried to gaslight me. WORST customer service ever. I really wanted to support as it's a woman owned minority business but she doesn't take accountability. And frankly she was very rude. I should have checked them out on Yelp before I went in, this sort of thing has happened several times. HORRIBLE AND DO NOT RECOMMEND! I got my eyelash extensions here 2 weeks ago and got them removed today. I had an AWFUL experience and am extremely disappointed and frustrated with how they removed them. I've gotten eyelash extensions removed many times before at other studios and the process has NEVER BEEN THIS PAINFUL!!! Please read because I do not want someone else to go through something like this. Today, it took over an hour to remove my set. I knew as soon as she started that it was going to be very painful. I felt every tug on each eyelash and she kept accidentally PINCHING MY EYELID SKIN while removing them. I told her time and time again that it was not only painful, but that my eyes were watering and BURNING from the formula that she put on my extensions to help with the removal. She PROCEEDED to be very aggressive while removing my lashes!! At the 50 min mark, there were 3 lashes that were not coming off. SHE KEPT TUGGING ON THEM, causing me to flinch multiple times, resulting in an insane IRRITATION AROUND MY EYES, and she NEVER STOPPED!! She didn't think to stop or ask for additional assistance/help until I told her to stop because I'd had enough!! She gave me a mirror to show me the 3 lashes that wouldn't come off. My eyes were bloodshot red, skin was covered in rash and irritated from all of the tugging, and my eyes were extremely itchy!!! I voiced my frustration and SHE FINALLY ASKED FOR HELP. I'm not sure if she was new, but regardless, she should've known to STOP after the many times I told her my eyes were burning and irritated. I even told her to pause to give my eyes a rest, and she did not respect that. Another woman finally came to our chair to help and she was able to remove the 3 lashes in less than 5 minutes, at which it was too late for me to care since my eyes had been burning for almost an hour. AND LASTLY, at checkout, they were trying to cover their asses by asking where I had gotten my eyelashes done because the glue that was used was not good and "poor quality". AND I TOLD THEM I GOT THEM DONE AT THIS STUDIO. As shocked as they were, they all still MADE ME PAY FULL PRICE even after they had been aware of the ridiculous fiasco that had just occurred. Removal is only $25.00 but that wasn't the point. Superior customer service should know better than to even charge me for something so painful. The lack of professionalism during this entire appointment was HORRIFIC AND I HONESTLY DO NOT RECCOMMEND AND WILL NOT BE COMING BACK HERE. read more
