I have been going to Lassies for 60 years and love it. Recently, I went with a childhood friend and we were looking forward to reminiscing. I made a reservation for 2 on a Monday night. The waitress told promptly told us that if we were going to drink wine we should order a bottle. We declined and ordered water. She came to the table three times in a few short minutes to take our order and when we told her we were sorry we hadn't looked at the menu yet we were catching up she told us that we had to hurry up and order because there was an hour and 15 minute on the table. In all my years of going to Lassies I never heard this especially on a weekday night when there were many empty tables. We arrived at 6 and the waitress delivered our salad quickly followed by our entree all by 6:15. That shows you how hurried she was. Never have felt so rushed. She ignored us for the rest of our visit and we had to ask another waitress for water, a dessert menu and our check. All in all the food was wonderful as usual and we walked out the door at 7:15 leaving many empty tables behind. I think Scott would be disappointed to hear about this poor service. read more

The service was good, and the food came out fast. I really loved my cod picatta. It was the perfect portion for lunch. I will most definitely be back to try more menu items. "EMPLOYEE WITH NO MASK" Upon entering the Restaurant, I was greeted by a male employee who was not wearing a mask. This employee was standing by the bar were drinks were being served and within a few feet of a patron wearing no mask. This employee also walked into the kitchen without a mask on and returned back to the bar, still without a mask. Per Connecticut rules "Each employee shall be required to wear a facemask or cloth face covering that covers his or her mouth and nose while in the workplace, except to the extent an employee is using break time to eat or drink." This employee was not on either. With this being said this will be my last time eating at this Restaurant. Hopefully this will get fixed. If it wasn't because my wife was starving after working all day, I would have told them to keep the food. read more

If you're out car shopping in MILFORD like we were find Lasse's place. We were so happy we did. On the post road surrounded by car dealers and strip malls is this little almost out of place small house that is the home of Lasse's. It is very casual and inviting once you enter and the staff are really very nice. Each booth also had its own outlet so you can continue to research all the cars and crank out the amortization tables for your monthly payments. The coconut shrimp were fresh, crispy and delicious. A nice start to help forget the last used Mitsubishi we won't be buying. My daughter scouted this place out because I told her I wanted a salad and they have a great salad menu. I had a great arugula salad with pecan, fresh blueberries and pears and I added some grilled chicken. I needed energy to get back out there and spar with the car salesmen. My daughter, who will decide the color of my new car had the Veal Marsala with pasta. It was great veal with a nice brown Marsala and mushroom sauce. Seriously, if your in the neighborhood this is worth the stop. read more

Great food very old establishment but still good would definitely recommend this place

I ate the whole belly clams here today for lunch and I got severe food poisoning and needed to go the hospital in Milford. They had to give me an IV for being so dehydrated from the constant vomiting and diarrhea that lasted nearly the whole rest of the day and night into the early hours of the morning. Due to the possible bacteria or parasites (Im still waiting on the results of the test to see which one it was from if not both) I was also put on the IV antibiotic doxycycline diarrhea medicine. I had a horrible fever with a temperature of 102.6. My fiance had ordered something different (Thank God!) but he still had a few of the disgusting clams. Thankfully he has quite the iron stomach and only threw up one time with some mild discomfort and diarrehea as well. We are extremely concerned and disturbed by our experience. I haven't reached out to the restaurant yet; I am planning on talking to the health board of Milford and to a lawyer as I could've have died the doctor said if my fever went any higher. I also had to obviously miss work that night and the next day and now I am being billed several thousand dollars. PLEASE please please people heed my warning and do NOT eat here! It is not worth the risk of getting so very sick or God forbid worse! Stay very clear of Little Lassies at least until the health department inspects them and makes a report. I may notify the Milford Patch of this incident. I am thoroughly horrified as I've never experienced a food borne illness like such. It was terrible and so scary. Although easy to overlook from the outside, it is a landmark in Milford...most people from the area are familiar with Lasse's. It's family owned and operated and has been around for years. The decor is right out of the 60's...wood paneling, old photos of Milford's history on the walls, but it is cozy and comfortable in its own way. I go quite often for lunch during the workday with co-workers (my office is right down the street). Food is good, inexpensive and the service is quick so you can get in and out within the hour. Lunch specials are crazy cheap, like $5.95-$7.95 which includes several sandwiches and even some hot meals like roast beef and pot roast. Everything I have had has been very good. Lunch specials include a side of coleslaw or potato salad. The potato salad is really good, very creamy and seasoned perfectly. They also have dinner specials a few nights a week...half off chicken dinners on Mondays, pasta specials another night...definitely a bargain! The restaurant is small, so even at lunch time it can get packed. There's a wall separating the restaurant area from the bar area, which also has several 2 top tables. Staff are always friendly and attentive. A great little spot to grab a casual lunch or dinner. read more

From the pleasant people who took the order to the beautifully prepared tray. The food was outstanding, moist turkey, mashed potato, sweet potato, stuffing, vegetables, gravy. Had to say this about our dinner last night. Yes, I've reviewed this restaurant before but I just had to say this. First of all our waitress, there last evening was beyond nice...and completely on the ball. Thank you so much Pat!!!!! I was looking at the menu and seen Seafood Fra Diavlo. It said it had mussels, shrimp, sea scallops, and lobster meat in it and thought....this was for me. The price was $24 and I thought I hope they give me enough for the money. Also, I really don't like spicy sauce and I asked the waitress if they could do it in a marinara sauce and she said sure...I don't see why not. My mom ordered the veal parmigiana with spaghetti. We both started with cups of split pea soup. I must say that this split pea soup was one of the best ones I've had in quite a while. A very clean but savory taste. BRAVO ON THE SOUP!!!!!!! Our dinners came out and my seafood dish was AMAZING!!!!! All around this big plate was mussels. There had to be 10 to 12 mussels. There were 2 gigantic sea scallops. Bigger than half dollar coins. And 3 big shrimp. Mixed in with the sauce were nice pieces of lobster. Done in a nice marinara sauce with thin slices of garlic and over linguini. Was it worth the $24 dollars....HELL YEAH!!!!!!! The seafood was beyond amazing, fresh, and tastiness. If you go to Lasse's and you're a seafood lover....and they have it on the specials menu...I highly recommend it. A friend and I stopped after a beautiful day at the beach. Fried shrimp and scallops were great. But... hot banana crepes with a strawberry and vanilla cream were fantastic! I think Lasse's is GREAT! First of all, I love the old tavern type of atmosphere that I was accustomed to as a kid. (I'm talking the real deal, not some fake replica of a old joint) The waitstaff is very friendly and welcoming. On my last visit our waitress was probably the most heartfelt friendly and helpful service person I have ever encountered. The roast beef grinders are the best I've ever had. The French Onion soup is excellent. Even the Italian dishes are suburb, which surprised me. Came here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon with my Dad for lunch. He'd been several times and recommended we go after running errands in Milford and it did not disappoint. We both got the corned beef Reuben and it was exceptional. It was stacked with meet and the perfect amount of sauerkraut, cheese and sauce to compliment it. Since I went solo, I chose to sit at the bar in the back rather than take up a whole table for just myself. Bartender seemed a little gruff, not the warm and fuzzy kind of guy. I ordered the 14 oz. ribeye steak with fries and slaw. Asked for it medium, and it came just the way I like it (always a good sign). The beef itself was a little tough, maybe like it came from a grocery store and not a butcher. The beef was spiced well and tasted good. It's a solid family restaurant with reasonable pricing. Lasse's is a great old time restaurant that makes you feel like home. The staff here is as good as it gets honestly. I wish every waitress was as welcoming and attentive as ours. I believe Pat was her name. I got the Chicken Tuscany and it was great I have no complaints other than the side of pasta was one or two minutes overcooked. Everything else was so good it didn't even matter. The atmosphere is super homey and makes you feel like your in someone's dining room. It is right off the highway so if you're looking for a quick bite its easy to get to off 95. Definitely will be returning. read more

I had some good fun here. I hadn't known about it until somebody gave me a gift certificate here but the place has some real New England charm, sort of like Seven Seas. The lobster roll is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the bar options are pretty standard. I sat at the bar where is a pretty good group of people who come here regularly.
