This place is huge, even if it is kind of scary, ie: creepy patrons and a little dirty. I haven't found anything worth writing home about in their furniture/housewares section, but if you have the time, the clothing racks are miles long and full of goodies. I've been in here twice and walked out with a few great finds. I enjoy wandering around here, because even if I find something, it isn't going to break the bank, and I don't feel guilty coming home with it. I love this store. I can not say enough. The employees are real nice too. The greatest thing about this store is that it is "sized out". All the sizes are not thrown together. It is real easy to find your size. We live on one income and this is the best way to stretch every dollar. I have found everything my kids have needed and wanted there. I find everything our entire family needs, there. I look forward to visiting there as much as I can. It doesn't look that great from the outside but once you get inside you will truly see. This thrift store is HUGE! After about an hour of going through clothes I'm beat. There's just so much stuff and it can be overwhelming. Monday's are 50% off days. Of course it gets very busy this day, so get there early or all the good stuff will be picked over. The prices for clothes are pretty good. Way cheaper than Goodwill! They organize clothes by size so that's definitely easier to go to your size and look at that section. The downside? You have to sort through a lot of crap that appears to have already had its last chance with its last owner. Lots of clothes have stains and crud. I can't tell you how many times I found an awesome piece but then saw a big stain right in the front. I haven't been able to score any luxury brands (yet). Also, they put 2-4 staples on the price tag and usually staple over the label so most times it's hard to see what brand you're looking at without ripping off the tag a little bit. This is not the most fabulous thrift store on the face of the planet, but I REALLY enjoy it. I try to go on Mondays because of the half off sale, but they have plenty of half off stuff on every other day too. This is the warehouse-type place where you're going to have to sift through a lot of junk to find something good, but it is generally well organized and items aren't too junky. Of course there is junk, but then again, this IS thrift store, yes? It definitely has a somewhat dirty smell as would any warehouse full of cast-off items, but you take your treasures home, throw them in the wash, and you're good to go. One time I got 3 pairs of pants, 2 capris, several shirts, and a couple of pairs of shoes for around $25. It was a good day. read more

Last Chance, things ain't been the same since you moved. I could spend hours and hours in the old location and found great stuff each time without fail. The new location is dingy, has a greatly reduced selection, and never has stuff I want. Given, I could buy a bunch of the sparkly ballgowns they always have and walk around dressed like a mentally imbalanced prom queen. But no more am I able to grab anything to match the caliber of my finds from the old location: the red go-go dress, the croc-print raincoat, the sexy-ass INC sweater, the argyle sheets... This is a traditional thrift store in the vein of most Goodwill's. The clothing is sorted by size (not by color as in Goodwill). The store is not sparkling clean, but not trashy dirty either. Employees were helpful. read more

I think 3.5 stars would be a perfect rating for this store, but I'll round up. I went on the half off Mondays. It was pretty packed in there, but I found all what I wanted and more. I got 6 sweaters and a dress for about $19! Yes, I know I was pleasantly surprised as well. And all were in pretty good shape. I noticed some of the items had stains on them or were really weathered. For example, there was a leather jacket there that had parts of the leather missing so it was gray. I guess they don't have super high standards in accepting clothes but if you really take your time and look, it's a good chance you'll find something. Also, the hat and scarf section is lacking. This place is cool. Very big warehouse style store, so it's kind of a trek to venture around the entire store, but it's much better / cooler than their last location. Prices are very fair (roughly the same price as Value Village but not as pricey as Goodwill). read more

If you're into thrift stores, Last Chance is a good place to try. Every day they feature different colored tags, and if you find an item with that color, it's half price. Like with any other thrift store, it can be hit or miss, and you have to dig. But I have come away with some really excellent finds - some of my recent scores were bags full of vintage xmas ornaments and the cutest green and white polka dot cloth napkins. read more

I'm definitely a thrift store kind of person. Thrifting is one of my favorite things to do. That being said, Last Chance is probably my favorite thrift store. I've been shopping there for about five years. I generally always purchase something, usually clothing. My favorite day to go is Monday when all apparel is half off. I really loved and was comfortable in the old location, so I'm still getting used to the layout of the new one. I was just checking the hours. I never go to Last Chance on Friday nights. Gas is too expensive to waste. I saw the bad reviews and felt compelled to write one of my own. The people with lukewarm comments are bad at thrift stores. There is no shame in it. Just as I could not walk into a wilderness area and come out with dinner, they cannot pick the interesting items out of the junk. It takes skill. Last Chance is one of my favorites. Most of my shirts and jeans have come off their racks since I moved to Atlanta almost four years ago. My best find was an early twentieth century commemorative stein. German men bought them as mementos after they completed mandatory military service before WWI. I am a history major at Agnes Scott College and could write a paper on the scenes painted on the sides. I paid $6.99 and have every reason to think mine is authentic. It is in superb condition. They sell for $300-$500. That is where skill comes in. I could tell it was old. I would never have given it a second look if I had not been able to see that the ceramic was painted and of a different, higher-quality consistency that the average Budweiser mug. Mom makes a living selling things she finds in places like this. We love to go together. There is almost always plenty for both of us. Last week, we found a working serger for under $50.00. Chris O. is right. If you want and can afford something, grab it. I made the mistake of thinking about whether I wanted some ostritch skin cowboy boots enough to pay $14.00 for them. They vanished, resurfaced the following week in L5P for $61.00. Thirfting takes knowledge, fairly specific goals, and a stronger stomach than Courtney M.'s. Thrift stores have dirt and creepy patrons almost by definition. If that bothers you, consignment boutiques, eBay, or Etsy might be more your speed. I have seen better than Last Chance but not many times. Overall, this is a great place, thrifting as it should be. Learn to look. You might find something worth having or selling. read more

There must be something worthy here, but they sell old tattered posters and furniture that looks like it was $50 new, dragged behind a truck, and priced at $40 in the store. I spent 30 minutes searching and ended up buying 6 amazing, high quality pieces for $18. When I am feeling lonely or bored- nothing hits the spot like a thrift shop to brighten my day. Last Chance is a thrift shop through and through. Not too clean and not too dirty, Last Chance provides the hunting ground to find a treasure with your name on it-sometimes literally! You never know what diamond you may find hidden in the rough. Amidst the broken and lost little objects, are pieces that may call out to you. The prices are basement low -- just what you need to feel like you've found a deal. I mostly shop in the housewares, books and toys. I found a whole series of the Hunger Games, hard back in perfect condition for a 2-3 dollars each. My son was thrilled. You can find high fashion or plain junk- whatever your pleasure. If found the pieces of a toy castle for a dollar. We were able to look the directions up online and built an amazing creation. Don't go if you like mint new or tend to be anal. Not the place for you!!! read more

I live in NC but I travel down quite often. I always hit this store. Last time I was here was on a Monday and the store was pretty packed. I love how everything is organized by size and what it is. I love the shoe selection. I was also glad they had a good sized maternity selection, which I find rare in thrift stores. The price is hit or miss. i love last chance! i'm not a big thrift store fanatic or anything, but i can appreciate a good deal. and last chance has those in spades. i've found plenty of stylish shoes for seriously low prices and i once got the coolest tiger-face leather purse for $2! they have a huge selection of clothes which are always very neatly organized so it's easy to browse without being overwhelmed. and, apparently, they give money to charity, which only makes me love this place more. don't miss out on last chance. read more

I'm a pretty avid thrift store shopper, and based on the yelp reviews I was really excited to make the trek out here in search of furnishings for my new apartment. So I was dismayed by what I found: a tiny, dark corner of the store with broken, abused, taped-up furniture stacked on top of each other and priced really high. The guy who reviewed that the furniture was $50 new, dragged behind a truck, then priced at $40 was totally not kidding. Expect missing drawers or legs, chunks of wood gone, fierce scratches, doors that don't close properly...you get the idea. Housewares were kind of sad and ordinary, and most were chaotically "organized" on top of all of the clothing racks scattered around the store. Electronics and appliances looked in rough shape as well. However, I spotted a good deal on a bread machine, so I tucked it under my arm and headed for the checkout, until I stopped cold at the sign that read "No Guarantees. Items not tested. As is." Forreals!? I'm gonna roll the dice on a $20 bread machine that you didn't feel like testing? Nah. Part of the fun of going to the thrift store is to find that unique, garish, or diamond-in-the-rough item; the other part is to get a great bargain on functional items. Unfortunately, neither scenario applies here. The stars are for the super friendly, hip staff (I did buy a $.99 corkscrew), and the fact that it's a really big store with ample parking out front. read more

my favorite place (though they seem to have less toy selection than before they moved about a year ago from their prior site). still, LC Thrift Store is the best place to find a bargain--from children's uniforms, men's and women's clothing, children's books, boys and girls' shirts, coats--they run the gamut on items customers can find at reasonable prices. Thursday is 30% off all items for senior citizens. Monday is 50% off all items--but one must get there early to catch worthwhile bargains. overall, I prefer this thrift store to any other in the Decatur or Atlanta area. the salespeople are helpful, kind as well. finally, I can shop in the store and 2 hours will past without my knowledge, as I am busy finding bargains!! I go there primarily for children's clothing, books and dresses. I come out always with bags of bargains! read more

I am an African American male and truly I have shopped at this store for years. Even when the store moved I happily traveled with them because the deals for the quality are second to none in my opinion. However my shopping experience today was slightly agitated because I took my clothing items into the dressing room as I always do and took my time trying on every item- particularly bc once I purchase the items I can't return them so I have to be sure they fit. When I exited the dressing room there was an Indian woman I had never seen before glaring at me profusely. I felt very uncomfortable and later learned she was a store employee. I could go into details about her posture towards me but it's silly to do that. I just want to make it known that her face and attitude towards me made me very uncomfortable and it is my hope she takes that stance with every customer that goes into the dressing room as opposed to singling me out because of my sex and race. Last Chance did not lose a loyal customer this day but if you're feeling that uncomfortable, purchase cameras but don't rain on my or any customer's joyful shopping experience because you are on edge.
