Eggs weren't cooked all the way, home fries were bland. Toast seemed old, like maybe they toast a lot and then just send it out as its ordered. Ham was the only thing good I ordered. That was my meal, plus a lemonade. It was $12! Overpriced diner. Usually a meal like this cost 8 or 9 total after taxes. Then I left a tip (even though she didn't deserve it) overweight girl, black hair, maybe Mexican or mixed?? She wasn't attentive, I had to tell her my toast was missing, she never asked if we wanted refills, my friend wanted her bacon well done and it came very very chewy, barely done. Went to this diner for breakfast with my wife and handicapped uncle (uses a cane). It was crowded with several booths open and 2 sets of 2 tables. Because my uncle can't get in and out of a booth we asked for a table. We we're told only booths were available. We declined. I mentioned the tables were free, a waitress told me they were putting those tables together for a party of 15. I said I didn't know they took reservations, she said no they had been waiting for an hour. How stupid do they think we are...NO ONE was waiting, in waiting area or cars. We went to Denny's had a better meal. Never going to 76 diner again and had been going for years. read more

The only thing I wish they offered was an upgrade to real maple syrup instead of fake stuff with corn syrup. Although I've been to this diner in the past, my most recent experience has soured my opinion of the place. Admittedly, we came in on a Sunday, and the restaurant was fairly busy, so we expected the service to coincide with the number of people eating there. We were sadly mistaken. Our waitress was both slow and rude - we waited 15 minutes for drinks (one of which was a coffee that came half spilled) and when we asked for refills we were brushed off. The food was fairly good, pretty standard diner fare - except for the cold pancakes and the orders that were brought out incorrectly. We as a party are quite forgiving with our servers - especially on a Sunday - but this meal in particular was disappointing in terms of service. Not sure I'll be returning to The '76 Diner any time soon. read more

I tried again this past Friday to order a steak - wish I didn't. Ordered the Delmonico steak medium. The Steak was not worth it - again overcooked, lots of fat & grizzle - and it was really thin - about 1/2 inch thick. I think it was $24 with a drink and tax & Tip - really disappointing. While the restaurant had an, um, interesting old-timey smell and the wait staff was a little disorganized, the food was fantastic! I have been coming here for a long time and all I can say is I LOVE this place. In particular, the waitress Dana is awesome. She is the standard by which I judge all other servers. She is fast, organized, knows the menu, and very cordial. The other servers are also excellent, but Dana is really exceptional. Additionally, I love the fact that it is open 24 hours a day. Little pricey for a diner...but clean and good

This is solid diner food - I recommend the Monte Cristo sandwich - ham, turkey & cheese surrounded by french toast. When you order a dinner, you get lots of accessories - soup, salad, veggies. I notice the portions are a little smaller, but the prices haven't gone up yet. As everyone else has said, it is open 24/7 - the only place nearby to be so. I have found the staff to be pretty consistently professional (we all have our off nights). My only complaint is that the kitchen is pretty resistant to requests. I just wanted to say that I have been there many weeknights and have never spotted the 3 sheets to the wind, blasted high school crews. If you are dieting, try to keep your eyes away from the huge dessert display near the door. Not that you will have a lot of room for dessert, but they are truely things of beauty - eclairs, napoleons, cream pies, etc. I like the eclairs & if you don't try to do dinner as well, there is a very good strawberry with cream pie. read more

I don't even know where to begin on how horrible this diner is. 7 of us showed up at the diner around 1 am and it took the waiter around 15 minutes to even get all of us a glass of water. There was a dried blotch of ketchup and old fries underneath our table, indicating that the diner does not regularly clean their floors--even the welcome mat looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. If this diner is open 24 hours it must mean they have more than enough time to clean up a little bit. The food was not very flavorful. You could tell that the scrambled eggs--a simple dish and a crucial part of a diner-- was not seasoned with any salt or pepper...a 10 year old would have enough common sense to make sure eggs are seasoned. Since I now live near the 76 and lot of people here seem to go there, I thought I'd give it another try. Bad idea. First, more than $20 before tip (which turned out not to be needed) is too much for a basic breakfast for two. Second, my omelet was brown and dry and crispy. An omelet should never be brown and dry and crispy. Third, I had to go and hunt down our waitress in order to get our check, and found her standing by the counter with another waitress looking through a catalog. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!! There was a bug in my food and they refused to give me the meal for free. They then offered me a free dessert instead which I didn't want, I wanted the $7 off the check for the god damn pancakes!! We go to this diner frequently for breakfast and we've never had a problem or inconvenience. The Food was amazing for the three of us. However, we went for the Bloody Mary that was amazing last weekend and the first one that EVER tasted good to me! Today, it tasted like watered down tomato juice...they remade it but only added extra "seasonings" and then it was just "gritty" and still watery. When I mentioned this before paying (for a drink I didn't drink - or enjoy), the cashier said to me "I'm sorry to hear that because they're all pre-made"...I don't care if they're pre-made, but if they were it would've tasted just as amazing as last weekend. They didn't offer to take it off the bill or simply just ask, "what was wrong with it?"....This gave a bad impression and I probably won't ever go back. This was not my first time at 76 Diner. We have been coming here for 16 yrs plus. I have to say today visit was the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant. The owner was not accommodating at all. She made it very difficult to do business with her. I have been in the custmer service /hospitality industry for well over 30 years. It is always my highest priority to deliver the BEST EXPERIENCE I can, always ensuring that my guests/customers are happy. Sad to say she did not do that for me. My order was not what I wanted. We always orde the same thing every time I go, and I always get what I ordered and am very happy. Not this time. She did offer to redo but we opted not to. However charged us for what we got but did order. Paying more for food we did not order in the first place. Regardless if we chose not to get it redone or not. Good custmer service would have been. I'm sorry about that. And charge for the lesser ticket. Poor Poor Poor. Not only was it a bad experience. But we were made to feel we did not matter for her, and did not care if we retuned. That is very sad. We chose to come to this diner and have for the past 16 years. So sorry we will not be retuning again. I really do hope you value my comments. They have a huge menu for a diner - the usual Greek dishes, fried seafood, burgers, etc but they also have liver and onions (my favorite), and some unique dishes. Quite good and reasonably priced. Basic food for basic needs. This might not sound like I liked the place, but I very mush did. The best diner food is when it is to point. What you order, is what you get with no fluff. If you want fluff, go to one of those chain places for food. This diner is what one expects a good diner to be. I was there for breakfast after a fun-filled night at the ValleyCats game (do not worry, there I was a designated driver and it was not me). So, I was a little rough around the edges. To fix this I ordered french toast with a side of sausage, which hit the spot. It was very nice to see that the had a full bar and was tempted get back on the horse, but I had stuff to do that needed a clear head. After downing my breakfast my head was much clearer then it was when I first sat down. The young lady the was my server was very good and friendly. This review has more to do with the handicap accessibility of the diner more than the food (although the food is good, you guys have been open long enough that I think it's time you changed your menu and added some new items. Just sayin'.) Anyway, I was there today to have lunch with my 95-year old mother who uses a walker. We used the handicap entrance (which is at the back of your facility). Why would you put the entrance to the ramp so far away from the door? Once we reached the door, there was no button to push for the door to automatically open. I was there to open the door but had I been an individual in a motorized wheelchair, there would have been no way for me to enter without waiting for someone else to come along. Once inside, my mother's walker was snagged by the black throw rug just inside the door. It took us a minute to get her untangled. It happened again when we left and two people who were sitting at the table by the door got up to assist us. Any why would you put a table of six people in that location so that when everyone is seated, they partway block the doorway? Someone needs to take another look at this situation and remedy it. I don't know if anyone has fallen yet but eventually someone will and no doubt you'll be looking at a hefty lawsuit. And why can't there be handicap accessibility by the front door? Sending your handicapped people to the back of the building sends the wrong message in my opinion. read more

The food was amazing! We went there for breakfast and it was great. My hubby and I both got the big breakfast, the eggs were coked to perfection, the sausage amazing and the pancakes crisp. The coffee was the worse thing but it was worth a laugh. The only reason I dont give it a 5 is because it is so dated. They seem to own up to what they are. They have so many choices, if I were here for longer than a week, I might have gone back. They are also open 24/7 which is nice if you want diner food any time. read more

Terrible, simply terrible, went for breakfast on a Friday, place was empty. Ordered a nut ring (like a cinnamon roll) and home fries. They asked if I'd like the nut ring hot, and I said sure. So walked in around 10pm on Christmas Eve, and wasn't greeted. That's fine there's a line at the entrance by the cashier so waited 5 min, then when all the customers have paid, don't even get an acknowledgment and immediately who I assume was the manager goes off to the bar to pour wine. So I go over ask if I could grab a seat says "well I'm a bit busy right now..." so I just say how about that one and finally get seated. Then I hear some waiter arguing about not getting enough customers in front of all the other patrons. Then customers complaining about waiting for their food. The place to go late at night. Food is a bit pricey, but it's worth it. Every year my friends and I get together at the 76 Diner before we head back to our respective colleges and the Diner is completely fine with waiting a group of 20 people at 1am (as long as you call ahead).
