Latin Skulls had a booth at the 2014 D.C. Tattoo Expo, I honestly walked around for hours and came up to different booths BUT I was just amazed when I saw Juan Arreola's work! Immediately Jorge the owner (I think) greeted me and I told him I had to get tattooed by Juan the next day at the expo. We set everything up, the next day they were very patient with me even though I got to the expo a little late. I waited for Juan to draw out my tat and they all immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease. (I've had past artist that I've sat there and it's like awkward in a way lol). Juan tatted me up, I believe it was about 5 hours or so, I took a few break and man OH MAN! The piece was just AMAZING, it is my favorite piece so far!!! Now aside from Latin Skulls having great customer service and talented artists...they are beyond loyal and honest. Turns out that I ended up leaving my new iPhone 5S at the booth charging and left without it. I was DEVASTATED! I had no idea where I left it and just assumed it was stolen *sigh*. The following day Jorge contacted me via my iCloud and said they had found it at their booth! I was just in shock that anyone would even contact me about it. He assured me he would mail it to me...and a week later I got it in the mail. Seriously, now a days you can't trust anyone and they could of kept the phone but they sent the phone back to me, I didn't even pay for shipping. Overall, I am beyond satisfied with my Latin Skull experience! I live in Maryland/DC area and I am planning on paying them a visit in LA to get my next piece. Juan's work is just beyond immaculate, he brought my piece to life and the staff is just beyond a pleasure being around. If you're in the LA area don't hesitate to visit Latin Skulls. Can I rate this place with six stars? This place is amazingly put together, It's very clean and the people who work there are wonderful as well as extremely welcoming. I went to go get my nose pierced and the gentleman who took care of me was very supportive (Even gave me a napkin for if my hands got sweaty which I thought was very considerate). While talking to him i brought up that I had gotten another piercing but it rejected and he told me it was likely I was allergic to nickel and to use titanium. No other piercer has told me this and thanks to this information as well as changing the jewelry my nose has been healing outstandingly! TWO THUMBS DOWN FOR LATIN SKULLS!! SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!! If I could give them 0 stars, I would! This is my Latin Skulls ordeal... I had a small light pink star (about 0.5" X 0.5") on my left hand & I had it retouched at Latin Skulls, BIG MISTAKE! The results to my retouch were awful! My tattoo went from light pink to having a noticeable darker outline, darker color (color changed from light pink to red) & a real bad/ugly scratchy look. I went back a few months later. Jorge (Latin Skulls owner) said that since the 3 months had passed I would have to pay, so I paid, AGAIN! This time I chose lavender. The color didn't take, AGAIN! I went back a 3rd time. This time I went purple & I got the same results as before. I went back a 4th time but this time I told the tattoo artist, Francisco, that I didn't want to continue going darker & that I was considering getting my tattoo removed. (Mind you; this star was my 1st tattoo. I've had this star for over 8 yrs. This tattoo has a meaning behind it.) Francisco suggested I speak with Jorge, "He might give you a good deal" Francisco said, so I did. To my surprise Jorge said he would do the tattoo removal for free! I was elated to know that Jorge would fix what HIS shop, Latin Skulls, ruined. I show up to my 9pm appointment early because, unlike other people, I'm punctual & responsible. I also had an appointment with Sandra to discuss my ideas for an appointment I had with her a few days later, which I had already paid Jorge the $60 deposit, which Jorge quoted me about $300+. I check in with Johnny who is sitting in the front desk & wait & wait & wait.... I go back to the front desk, this time it's Juan at the front desk, to ask if Jorge & Sandra knew I had arrived for both appointments. To my surprise, Johnny did not bother to let either Jorge or Sandra know that I had arrived for my scheduled appointments. Sandra comes over to me & apologizes & tells me that she had been waiting for me & that no one told her that I was waiting for her. We discuss my ideas. By this time it's already after 10 pm. Then I go back to waiting for my second appointment with Jorge & again I wait & wait & wait.... It's after 11 pm; I've had enough of waiting for over 2 hrs & of being given the run around so I take off. I felt that this was Jorge's way of waiting me out so he wouldn't have to do the free tattoo removal. If Jorge didn't want to do a free tattoo removal he shouldn't have offered it to me in the first place! After spending time & money at Latin Skulls in return all I got was a headache, a tattoo that has a dark outline, dark color, a tattoo that has an ugly scratchy look to it, a multiple color tattoo, scarred tissue on my hand, & now I have to live my life with this ruined tattoo that is visible for everyone to see thanks to Latin Skulls negligence! After all of that there was no way in HELL that I was ever going back to Latin Skulls, so I canceled my appointment with Sandra, ultimately losing my deposit. If you're reading this review: save yourself stress, time, energy & money = DO NOT GO TO Latin Skulls! Jorge & his minions are arrogant, unprofessional, unorganized, rude & belittling. Jorge, key word: Customer Service! Shops like Latin Skulls give legitimate talented shops a bad rap. Latin Skulls is a dime a dozen! I will be spending my money elsewhere. They would rather save some pennies that make dollars, its Latin Skulls lost. read more

I had gotten my eyebrow pierced last year from a completely different place, and it never healed, even a year later. I went here and the piercer Jorge informed me that the piercer pierced it incorrectly. He offered to replace it for free, even though I didn't get it done there originally. I am extremely satisfied. I got a tattoo of praying hands from Latin Skulls back in September, and it came out great. I get a lot of complements every time I show people. The tattoo is fairly large in black and grey and it cost $240, which is much less than I was quoted at a shop without such an impressive portfolio. The shop is extremely clean, and all the guys that work there are very accommodating. I got my tattoo done on December of 2014 with Juan on my upper thigh and loved it, very painful though. I have a couple of rants about the place. I first wanted to do my tattoo with Juan because I loved his portfolio the most but I was told that he was booked until next year (which is this year). So the other artist I chose was Eder and we agreed on doing it. So my appointment came up and was told Eder tried canceling and I received no call, so the other person that was available was Juan, which I was thankful for but also confused cause I was told he was booked. Juan in my opinion is very talented and detailed but has a very heavy hand. Another thing I didn't like was how loud the music was, I left with headaches. I also wanted to add 2 quarter size cancer ribbons and for 1 is was about $100 more?! That is ridiculously insanely expansive! So I chose to get it done without it and to add it another place. Also my tattoo is colored and if you pay really close attention it has a random outline and I don't understand why it's even there. My last rant was the price of the overall tattoo, I feel like $60 of deposit and the tattoo being $300 and something is a bit too overpriced in my opinion cause the change up the price after it gets done. Overall the place is really clean, but I feel like I would rather get my other future ones some place else. read more

Upon arrival atLatin Skulls I was caught off guard by the distinguishing look. I was blown away by the customer service and I was simply stunned by the work done. Here's my story. No more than 48 hours ago I was looking for a place to get a tattoo done. I've been to quite a few shops in The Oc, Hollywood, and LA but none have compared to this gem of a shop that I have found. My sisters have both been here before and had been trying to convince me to come in. I was finally tired of procrastinating so I decided to give it a go. First off, the decor/style of the shop is unlike any other. Warm neutral colors and inviting sounds of happiness are what I picked up on right away. The organization of this place is impeccable as far as artwork portfolios, magazine adds, pictures of artist and other tattoo related items. The cleanliness was without a doubt a definite plus. They have a sterile room for equipment I believe and have sectioned off every workstation which is also clean with high detail on a daily basis multiple time to my knowledge (obviously after ever tattoo). But it have an aroma of freshness unlike some other shops that wreak of neglect. I was taken care of almost instantly by the owner in which he offered me a quote and a placement of the design within minutes. I still didn't even know the artist but the fact that they were so attentive helped me not care who the artist was. They were extremely busy but took the time to acknowledge everybody who was walking in along with me and my sister. I knew at that moment I needed an appointment asap!!! So I booked one for 10pm that same day. I was extremely excited when I got home and decided to try to get some rest being that I work graveyard shift and I had just got off work that morning. I received a phone call 1 and a half hours before my appointment informing me that there was an opening with Johnny Ayala. I made my way there as quick as possible. I was again greeted and attended quickly and was sitting in the chair ready to start within an hour. The sketch and improvements being made were what was being planned. Long story short I was only there for the lining of a forearm piece but my breath was taken away by the precision and attention to detail that was given. The staff is amazingly helpful offering water making jokes and overall just making my time extremely enjoyable. They stood open till it was done without suggesting alternatives. I have definitely never met a group of individuals that and more involved, so detailed, humble, attentive and professional in my life. They take every single matter no matter how small as if it was a million dollar project. Thanks to Joseph, Johnny, Robert, Sandra Jorge, Sergio, and the rest of the crew that was there they have gained a life long customer a lo general with my two sister. I felt like I was at home and I believe it's more than just a tattoo shop it's a huge bond that they all share that make u feel like it's family. I highly recommend that you go in and take the time to see how real work, dedication, and precision will change you tattoo getting experience. Got my first tattoo from this shop (not first tattoo). The staff is friendly and the shop is clean. Minimum fee is $100 and they require a $60 deposit upfront at the shop. Well worth it. They are very very sterile and use new needles everytime. They are all about quality and cleanliness, which is so important. I scheduled a consultation with Sandra (was recommended to me by a friend). She was very nice and easy to talk with. We went over ideas for my tat and booked my appointment for almost a month out (her Sundays were full up!) She kept a note for me to push my appointment up if there were any reschedules. Got a call a week later and was able to push appt up much sooner. Showed up for appt and we're greeted at seated. Sandra was very sweet and comforting. She was great. Valentino did an awesome job with the matching tattoos my mom and I got!
