Latitude 44 hosted and catered our birthday party for our mom this week, and we are so very happy with the whole experience. We did a buffet style dinner; the chicken, beef and all the other offerings were very delicious, served perfectly done, plentiful and so tasty. It's a lovely setting for a gathering, and the service was friendly and super efficient. The guests enjoyed the event, and our mom was thrilled. It's a happy family memory for us all. read more

This place is fantastic. I came in from a long drive, and was starving. I didn't expect much in the way of food from a small town like Plattsburgh, but these guys made up a seared Halibut in citrus verblanc that was phenomenal. Lat44 was so good, I went back the next day after my business was done and had one of their flatbreads for lunch. It's in a little part of town where you'd never expect a great restaurant, but these guys truly impressed. Chef Chochran is the best reason to go there. You can tell he really enjoys what he does, and he is great with the guests. read more

This place is tops. I've eaten here twice, and have been extremely pleased both times. The food is amazing, albeit a little expensive for a college student. Lat 44 has also catered the Passover Seder at Temple the last two years and done an outstanding job- it's very difficult to cook a kosher Seder meal and it was great. The flour-less chocolate cake with raspberry topping is my favorite dessert in the world. Not sure if it's on the regular dessert menu, but it should be if it's not. read more

My three friends and I came in tonight for dinner, and although the food was pretty good, our service was awful. As someone who's family owns a restaurant, our server was obviously in need of training. (Noelle) was very busy at first, and didn't come and take our order after about 15-20 minutes after giving us our drinks. I understand being busy is one thing, but she kept walking past us empty handed to continue running food instead of asking for help from the server shining dishes at the bar to run her food instead, so she could tend to her table. After, everything was fine until the check. She ran our check incorrectly, which is fine, but as we corrected it (since she asked if she ran it correctly AFTER running our card through the system), I clarified. She responded with an annoyed "okay..." and rolled her eyes as she turned away. She ran the bill again, but we all saw her rolling her eyes and complaining very blatantly and dramatically to the bartender. After this, we decided to not write in a tip on the check, to which our friend heard her say "are you f***ing kidding me?!" As he walked out. As I said, the food was great along with the atmosphere and very comfortable seating, but the service was something I've never experienced. read more

This restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives in the area. We stopped in for a late lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The food was very good and service was quick and courteous. I had the fish and chips and found the meal to tasty and perfectly prepared. My only disappointment was an issue with my being a southerner. I ordered iced tea and instead of being brewed tea it was some kind of instant stuff. Overall a very nice experience. read more

We learned about this place from Yelp and are so pleased to now have a new favorite in Plattsburgh. When we arrived at 6:30 on Saturday night we quickly realized this place was not a hidden gem to all - it was quite busy. Neat and comfy main restaurant and bar area. Our only option was to sit in 'the back room', which didn't sound like someplace I wanted to be. The 'back room' was soon full and we were so into our food and drink that nothing else mattered. We shared duck wings, which were crisp amd perfectly flavored, then the mac-n-cheese, and an aged strip steak - all was really superb. I'd simply suggest a reservation, if they accept them, if you really want to sit in the main area......which I will prefer in the future. I think this place should expect to be busy, though, and make some changes to 'the back room', beginning with its name.......it could easily be as welcoming and inviting at the rest of the place. Service was attentive but not overly so, and we will make this a regular pick on our short list of great dining in the burgh. read more

Latitude 44 is a great restaurant with a very unprofessional line of staff. As we sat waiting for our food, one of the staff shouted "have a nice day smoker" at a customer leaving (I think it was the owner). This was beyond rude and extremely unprofessional. The waitress looked liked she hated life and the thought of serving us tortured her. The food is good though if you can deal with the plethora of annoyed staff. High class or not, treat customers with respect. read more

The scallops were pretty good, the rest was okay.

I am a fan but could be hooked with a couple miner changes. My wife had the grouper special and loved every bite. I had the steak tips in a creamy red wine sauce and they were absolutely delicious except for the portion being slightly light. I dislike places that over portion but this was lacking a few pieces of meat at the price. The price is on the higher end but the quality and atmosphere are there. Throw me 2 or 3 more chunks of fillet and there and i would be a very happy man. The beer selection was alright (I felt like there should have been some Dog fish head 60 minute for some odd reason) with some quality brews. Bottom line is the food and atmosphere are great. read more

2nd time was as good as the first. Went on a Saturday night at 6:30. Sat at the chef table and enjoyed talking with the owner. And getting cooking tips. Fair prices. Like the ambiance. Bartender is a competent mixologist. Staff is attentive and professional. They just added more seating so thankfully there was no wait. They do not take reservations. read more

I heard some good things about this place so decided to go one day and it definitely did not live up to my expectations. I ordered the vegetable soup to start with and was seriously served about 1/2 cup of pasta sauce in a bowl. I am almost positive it was the Ragu vegetable marinara. It was terrible and definitely not a soup. There was also such a small amount and I was charged $6 for that. It didn't get any better as the meal went on as most of my food was over cooked and just bland. The service was nothing great either. I had higher hopes but this place is probably the last place in Plattsburgh that I would recommend and I have lived here for 3 years and frequented many a restaurant here. read more
