We came for a mid afternoon celebration lunch on a Saturday. Despite 8 empty tables inside, we were told there was a wait for an inside table. We could sit on the deck. Since it was a breezy day and umbrellas were available it seemed like a nice choice. The rest of the group I was with are seafood lovers so the menu had many options for them. I ordered the sirloin burger. We waited 10 minutes for water to be poured & the option to order cocktails. Our meals arrived in an acceptable time frame and were good enough. I waited for our server to return and ask if we would like more wine/ sangria. That never happened. Eventually the manager came by & we were able to request a dessert menu. Our server came by quite a bit later, after we had decided to move to another establishment for dessert Being part of the Wentworth, I was expecting much better service, the menu could be found at multiple locations along the coast. read more

Went last night; setting is lovely, time it right and you get a light show---- off the water, the boats, the clouds.... It is pricey, as it's on the water, prime real estate....& part of the Wentworth, a prestigious destination. Drinks were delicious--- I tried the Kentucky mai tai($12-) yum!! My date had the agave mojito, he also liked it. Again, pricey--- a draft beer goes for $7.50... Chowder was thick & tasty... Both dinners were tasty.... My husband and I went to Latitudes last night, and while the view was gorgeous, unfortunately, that's all we were impressed with. For the size of the drinks, they were extremely overpriced -- $15 for a cocktail in a tumbler and a super skinny Bloody Mary, and $11 for a craft beer. Our meal of fish tacos was disappointing too, and tasted no different than something cooked from frozen that you'd get from a chain restaurant. We expected much, much better. read more

The view is excellent, looking at beautiful boats and the NH seacoast. The food was delicious and service quite prompt. Nice menu choices. I had the fish tacos which were excellent. My wife had the Seafood Poke Bowl which she really liked. Portions are good and priced reasonably for the location. One would expect to possibly pay more. For drinks we ordered the Red Summer Sangria followed by the Bajan Rum Punch. Our main meal consisted of the Asian Noodle Salad and the Grilled Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos. Everything that has to do with this restaurant was phenomenal. The restaurant manager (JP) was extremely nice and very helpful in getting us seated. Our server (Brittany) was polite, fast, and knew what she was doing. We watched sailboats come into the harbor while the sky was turning pink with the sunset. There were two very large (80') yachts docked at the Wentworth for the night. The view was incredible and was coupled with our amazing food. I would recommended this restaurant over any restaurant in Portsmouth, Rye, York, or Kittery. read more

This place rocks. If you are going to pay $100 for dinner, mind as well do it right, go to Newcastle and have dinner on the water with good music and incredible food. I have seen some harsh reviews lately, so I wanted to share my own. I had a very positive experience last night (Friday, July 22nd), at Latitudes. My wife and I sat on the lower deck. Our server, Sage, greeted us right away with water and was quick to bring out our drinks and appetizers, despite having many people to wait on. Everyone around us seemed content, the thoughtful waitress refilling their waters frequently due to the extreme heat. Contrary to other reviews on Yelp, people around us did not wait for their drinks or food long at all, especially for a Friday night- about 5 minutes for drinks and 15-20 for food. Our server checked in on us often, as well as the 5 other tables around us. She even brought out water bowls for the two dogs at the tables next to us. The view was beautiful and the shellfish tower appetizer was delicious. My wife and I don't come to Portsmouth often, but we will definitely be returning to eat at Latitudes at the Wentworth. read more

I don't like doing this but in the restaurant business their has to be accountability. We think this is the premier marina factory on the rest coast. That operation was again will oiled and professional. Latitudes, one of the restaurants on property, was the opposite. Staff is willing and it was the end of a weekend. We were seated outside with a view over the marina. In stygian darkness. First courses came and went under the light of our iPhones. Well prepared. Then twenty five minutes without main courses. Wait person evaporated. I went to ask. He was having a wonderful conversation with another table and told me the kitchen quote forgot the salmon burger I ordered. Amateur hour. Excellent spot for upscale dining. This place is in a great location on the Wentworth territory near the hotel and golf course. The restaurant has a nice outdoor deck overlooking the harbor. There was a wait for a table so we ended up sitting at the bar which was fine cause the service was great and we got to take in the nice view. For food the shrimp cocktail was super, the oysters were excellent , the chicken lettuce wraps were spicy and tasty and the grilled chicken with alfredo was excellent. read more

Took my daughter here for her birthday (24 yo). This was June 3rd so their Covid19 precautions were well in place. I appreciated that. However the entrance is lackluster & you have to park across the street. Where we were seated was fine & private, but I had a view of the surrounding buildings whereas I made sure my daughter had the view of the harbor. It was a beautiful day which helped with the ambience. They offered a great menu and the food was delicious & well prepared. Although we were disappointed that they didn't have some of our first choices, like crispy calamari. The cocktail list was limited but we each got a drink we enjoyed. The Bloody Mary was austere but prepared just the way I like it. I say austere because the garnish was a lemon wedge, lime wedge & 2 olives (unlike the trend of a meal in a glass). Speaking of glass - both of our drinks were served in paper hot cups. Please take a note Latitudes: can you just spring for clear plastic cups at least? Some people nurse their drinks & alcohol will eventually make a paper cup limp & soggy. I know you want to come off as the casual dining option for the Wentworth By The Sea. But we each only had 1 soggy cocktail and our Bill was $155. I am a generous tipper but you can do the math. NOT CASUAL and should not have a $$$ rating. In my opinion. So with so-so ambience and the paper cup fiasco ( wasn't a good choice for our San Pellegrino either) and the priciness, I am STILL giving a 4 star review for food & service. read more

Went here with my mother for a ladies' day out. Nice view and probably convenient for guests of the resort. Ordered the "Asian Noodle Salad" and it was a salad with noodles on the side. The deck furniture seemed oversized and dwarfed us both, leaving me unable to reach the floor with my feet (I'm 5'6"). Wine list is largely what you would find at a supermarket. read more

We stumbled upon Wentworth on our scenic drive home on Memorial Day weekend- we were looking for a nice place to lunch on the water before getting to far South ... and we are lucky we did! Latitudes is right on the water, with gorgeous grounds that include the historic Wentworth by the Sea hotel. Latitudes is casual, featuring indoor and outdoor patio dining. We went for outdoors, and had a lovely table right against the railing(the tables were wood and chairs have comfy cushions - this is not a typical casual lunch spot- its a touch of old elegance) overlooking the marina. Service at the front was lacking, most likely because it was summer help, however our server made up for it. Owen was fantastic- personality, knowledge and a carefree attitude relaxed us immediately. The menu is typical waterfront pub dining... shrimp, burger, tuna, mussels etc but everything had a little twist that made it feel a little more elegant. I chose the Ocean Breeze salad... fresh tuna salad on a sliced tomato, surrounded by fresh pineapple, melon, and berries. Perfect light lunch for the summer, so fresh, and accompanied with a super crisp glass of sav blanc. My fiance enjoyed an ahi tuna sandwich on warm brioche, soft with a hint of basil and potato salad with red bliss. GREAT location- wonderful summer food, and just a beautiful backdrop. I've enjoyed Lattitudes for years. You can't beat the location and historically their food has been good. I have to say that this year they have reduced their menu and have taken all the good entrees and salads off the menu and have replaced them with less creative and more profitable items. So sad. Other than the view or if you happen to be staying at the hotel, there are not a lot of reasons to eat here. We had a long wait for our food then our entrees showed up. Ooopps, they forgot about our appetizers. Plenty of wait staff, just not well trained. The food was bland. No chef in the kitchen. After recognizing their mistake, they bought our drinks but I'm not sure I can muster coming back this year until I hear reviews to the contrary. Too many good restaurants in Portsmouth. We're locals and are disappointed that we can't include Lattitudes on our summer dining list. read more

It used to be a lot better than it is now. First, they recommend calling a half hour in advance to get preferred seating. We did that and it did absolutely nothing for us. Once we were seated, it took 20 minutes to get our drinks after ordering them (order was a glass of wine, gin and tonic, beer, and a soda). Then the food comes and it was as pedestrian as can be. The portion sizes were tiny and the quality of the meal didn't make up for the skimpiness. I got the Blue Fin Tuna. The chef definitely doesn't know how to sear tuna and I could tell he/she didn't time it right. One half of the fish was cooked, lower than a sear, and it was gray (cooked) half way through. The other half was not cooked at all, literally. I obviously wanted it rare, but got one side sushi and the other side well done. It was ice cold when I got it as was the fingerling potatoes and two tiny pieces of fried avocado. All of our entrees were subpar to say the least. The fish and chips came out luke warm and it was 80% breading, 20% fish inside. I would say Latitude has taken on a much more chain Marriott type quality in terms of food and service and a much less upscale, waterfront dining type restaurant. read more

Had a beautiful lunch here yesterday. The weather was just perfect, so what better way to enjoy the NH heat than by relaxing by the marina with a couple bloody Marys? It is so refreshing to see the female servers here wearing cute skirts and flats. Pants are so over played for servers these days. The girls here all looked so put together and were definitely dressed for the heat. We started with the oysters on the half and the calamari, both very good choices. I am a huge oyster fan and absolutely loved the mignionette that accompanied them. The calamari was insanely fresh and tossed with delicious peanuts and came along side a tasty aioli. We both had beautiful salads with fresh fruit and lobster salad. Incredible, and the presentation was beautiful. Overall, we had a great experience and cannot wait to return! read more

For a high end hotel, the food and service were disappointing. Cesar dressing was straight out of a bottle - 2 croutons on the plate. We walked out last night. First time I've walked out of a restaurant. They seated us after a 20 minute wait (which is not bad) and we waited nearly 30 minutes with no contact not even a glass of water. Hostess and staff and manager walked by and saw us waiting and just ignored us. Finally told hostess that we have been sitting there for almost 30 minutes. She apologized. A waitress saw us and said "if no one is serving you you must bey table. I'll get you water." But another 10+ minutes went by and no one came to serve us. It's wasn't a super busy night. I told the hostess on the way out and all she said was "sorry." They didn't even attempt to rectify. We walked up to Salt in disbelief and told them of the experience and they saved our night out. Night and day experience. For the price and quality of service the Wentworth is supposed to provide, the experience and the response of the staff at latitudes was unacceptable. Not going back. Been here many times. Usually the service and food is outstanding. The last couple of times the service and food been horrible. The valet parking is outstanding, the waiter Ryan was either under trained or didnt care. Did not offer us water, stood over us after asking for our drinks. We had to keep telling him "ok we all set thank you" If we didnt he just stood there not saying anything. (kinda creepy). The food was completely different than past vists. Not sure if they got a new cook or not, but the cheeseburger was over cooked like a hockey puck. The lobster green salad was nothing like it use to be, they now placing potatoes in it? no goat cheese at all, french green beens with no taste. The shrimp cocktail was warm like they had left it sitting out. Shame as the place use to be outstanding! read more

View and seating are great. How many times do I have to say it ? Get water on the table and take a drink order immediately. It will make guests feel like you are top of your game. We went here this week and sat waiting and waiting as what seemed like the whole staff attended to a table of 6 or 7 woman. Hello ! by the time I got up and went to ask if we too could eat and drink I was super salty. Too bad because it was a beautiful night. The only way we were able to get bread an appetizer and drink refills was to befriend the busboy who was awesome and funny. Food was ok. Lobster roll looked great but somewhat bland. We were staying at the hotel, and thought it would be nice to stay nearby for dinner, about 30 yards from our hotel room door. There are 3 different decks where you can dine outdoors, with views of the ocean. Ample seating inside too. We had the mussels appetizer, great, and the fish and chips. The wine list was reasonable too, offering some good choices for the moderate budget. Service was very attentive. Overall the food was good, and price relative to value for the food and atmosphere, you can't go wrong. read more

It was my first time eating at Latitudes. Lovely view, nautical decor and very comfortable. One friend got the grilled chicken sandwich which she enjoyed. I ordered what was described very deliciously as an Heirloom Tomato and Avocado melt. I was picturing a crunchy bruschetta with sliced tomato, sliced avocado and melted cheese. What came out was soggy bread topped with diced yellow tomato, diced avocado and melted cheese. Bruschetta must be toasted before adding the toppings to keep its crispness. The tomato and avocado topping was totally mushy and tasteless no flavor at all. Our waitress was prompt and very cheery. I was disappointed with my dish but may go back and try something else. read more

You cannot go wrong with Latitudes!!! My husband and I took our in-laws there yesterday and let me tell you it did not disappoint, from the staff, water views to the succulent seafood!!! We opted to seat on their beautiful deck overlooking the water. The seating on the water is first come first serve it was very busy and immediately we were placed on a waiting list, it was worth every minute of the 30 minute wait. The staff and waitress were top notch and never dropped the ball once from our drinks, apps to our main meal (AMAZING) The food is so fresh it was like they plucked it straight from the ocean prepared and placed onto our plates, from the seafood tower to the Halibut, Scallops, Swordfish to the fillet, no one in our party was unsatisfied or unhappy with their meal. It can be a little pricey but worth ever penny and the views are priceless!!! Keep up the AMAZING job!! 5 PLUS stars!!! read more

Went to Latitudes end of April 2013, as part of a conference at Wentworth. It was spectacular, partially due to the view, and to the company....this was in the late afternoon on a beautiful spring day. Afterwards, went to the restaurant for lunch during this conference,since the lobster rolls had been highly recommended. The lobster roll was delicious and although expensive, was completely worth it. The setting can't be beat. It just enhances the flavor of the food, and the food presentation is spectacular. Wait staff and others aim to please. Due to such a great visit in late April 2013, decided to return on Sat July 20 for another visit. Delicious, as before,and I found out that many locals visit Latitudes on a regular basis so that speaks highly of this restaurant. Fun place and good food. It costs a little more than the norm, but worth it. read more

Yelp link in June 2014 led, when following Latitudes on Yelp map, to a reservation service that returned "reservation confirmed!" (powered by open table) yet upon arrival Latitudes said"we never take reservations". I got an email from SALT, which was nowhere in any links or my plans. Latitudes food and wait staff service was lovely (at the indoor bar rather than deck umbrella table, due to no res and busy timing) the venue is so enjoyable, the disorganization at yelp link and also the host desk at the restaurant was unfortunate. read more

If the bad meal was not enough when it was mentioned to the waitress she did not say sorry, did not offer to take off the bill or did not ask the manager to come over. Today I went to latitudes for lunch. Service was so bad! Receptionists and asst. manager had no clue what they were doing. They seated a large party who came in after us before us. I had to step up and say something. No apology just an BS explanation. Once we finally sat down, food took a long time. Waitress messed up the order of course and she was training someone. Where to begin? I suppose the view is nice, but this place is living proof of the truism about the inverse relationship between the quality of the scenery and the quality of the food. We're locals, and strongly suggest you enjoy the view somewhere else (try New Castle Common) and head into Portsmouth, where you have a fabulous choice of excellent places to eat. I'm genuinely stunned that the Wentworth (Marriott?) would permit such scandalously bad food to be served on their premises. I've always thought that you can tell in an instant if the person preparing your meal cares or not about food. By that standard, the food assembler--clearly chef is not the right word--hates food (and I daresay your customers). I had the skirt steak with frites and chimichurri sauce. Wonderful on paper. In fact it might have been better if I has simply eaten the menu. The presentation was contemptuous: a little pile of limp arugula, dressed in . . . well, naked actually, although i seem to remember there was a sun dried tomato hiding somewhere there. The steak? It looked like someone had retrieved the sole of a black flip-flop that had been thrown on the grill--no, rescued after a house fire--and tried to pass off as something edible. Really! And since when does medium mean desiccated and impossible to cut even with a steak knife? And, on top of all of this, it wasn't even warm, despite looking like it had been recently pulled out of a crematorium. The frites? Limp and cold, with a vinegary, light khaki green sauce, allegedly chimichurri, pooped on top (albeit in a zig-zag pattern). Listen, if you hate cooking so much, quit and go and change the sheets in the hotel rooms. All this took about an hour to reach our table, by the way, and cost an arm and a leg. Our daughter, who has Celiac disease, asked for a burger WITHOUT a bun. You guessed: out it came on a bun. Sent it back and out it came within about 30 seconds (ah, good service, finally), with the comment, "seems we got yours mixed up with another hamburger order." Sure. Wouldn't mind so much if my daughter didn't have violent diarrhea within one hour. But perhaps it was the slimy lettuce, or was it wakame, which looked like it had been pulled out of the garbage disposal? What did we do to deserve this? The other daughter had a chicken salad. One piece of chicken---well, to be honest, we're not sure about that description--looked like a bad mushroom, black and slimy and translucent on the interior. I must post a picture so you can see for yourselves that we aren't making this up. My wife waited so long for a cup of ice that she just got up and wandered over to the bar and helped herself. Throughout the meal she was quiet, very quiet. I've learned what that means. Why didn't we complain? Because a complaint is not nearly satisfying enough--this place deserves to lose a LOT of business. For the first time, I am tempted to lie in a Yelp review because I fear that the truth will lead to fewer available tables for me. Honor has triumphed, so I admit that Latitudes is perfect. I have lunched twice during their opening week and both experiences were excellent. The "Ocean Breeze" lobster salad is fresh and delicious lobster salad in a tomato, surrounded by luscious fresh fruit. It's huge, beautifully presented, and reasonably priced. The clam chowder is great, too. The service is friendly and prompt, but not hurried. Just a delight! read more

This was the most disappointing part of my vacation, and for a five hundred dollar stay-- I'd say it sucked. Excuse my language. My waitress was so rude, and a total buzz kill, I had a great day up until my family and I decided to eat at Latitude. What was almost as horrifying as our experience was the fact that when we went into the hotel to talk to a manager some of the employees recognized our description of our waitress and quote on quote responded, "yeah that's just the way she is". What a joke! For years I have been hearing about Latitudes but never got around to actually eating there, altho I have been to the Wentworth Dining Room many times. To me, it's an example of the Emperor has no clothes. Granted the scenery is peaceful and lovely, but so is the scenery at a number of restaurants along the New England coast. The food was mediocre at best and unbelievably expensive for what and the amount that was served. I had the lump crab sandwich which came with fries and a pickle and my companion had a smallish strip steak and side salad and we had 2 warm iced teas with the bill exceeding eighty five dollars...lunch! The server, too, was "mediocre"...watching some of the other servers bring rolls and refill water glasses and constantly checking on the tables, we realized ours was really inattentive.He was, however, really attentive to the drinkers. Our iced teas were warm within 10 minutes as the ice had melted as had the ice in the water. Looked around to find him to ask for more ice but never saw him again until he delivered the bill. The only positive of the day was the valet service. Those guys are terrific, hard working and polite. I think, too,the deck was cramped and have yet to figure out its seating policy.We were told there was a 30 minute wait for inside, yet when we went thru the inside to get out there were a number of empty tables. They weren't being held for reservations as they don't take them. I think I've said enough. read more

Amazing views, impeccable service and fabulous food! For my grandmothers 92nd birthday all she wanted was to get her first massage so all of the ladies in the family took her to Wentworth by the Sea..and it did not disappoint. Not only was the spa amazing but after we had lunch at Latitudes and it was perfect. From the moment we walked in they were so lovely to my grandmother- making her feel special the entire day. Our waiter Chris and he was fantastic. We had decorated the table and were all wearing birthday hats and he was not only a fantastic waiter but was so patient with us (there was a lot of us), took pictures for us and even wore a crown! We were seated in the coveted outdoor seating and we never once felt rushed. The food was equally amazing and we are all still raving about it today. From start to finish our dinning experience was perfect and I would recommend it to anybody! read more
