Oh man can I give this place 6 stars? The food was amazing. I was being particulary indecisive so I had my amazing bartender, Kianna, suggest our meals and our dessert and she did an absolutely killer job. We got pitchfork cheddar with some killer marmalade, crispy crushed potatoes, the duck (quite good), the lamb (to die for), the marjolaine, and the burnt honey crostata (awesome). Definitely not easy on the wallet, but so worth it for a special occasion

Incredible atmosphere with attentive waitstaff and food to match. We had a 730 Saturday reservation and were seated immediately. Our appetizers came out quickly and everything we ate was fantastic. I actually purchased gift cards for friends as a gift for Christmas as I was that impressed and watched to share the experience with others. When the bill arrived I noticed the server forgot to add the bottle of wine to our check. We flagged her down and let her know. She then took off one of the appetizers as a thank you for noting the mistake on the check. Totally unnecessary but very kind! I will most definitely be returning.

Then we got the fried chicken. That was excellent! So crispy! We both got the Tori-Paitan Ramen, it was so good. The marinated soft boiled egg might have been the start of the show though. Great food and atmosphere. The server was very kind. We will be back!

4.5 stars! I've been hoping for a ramen spot in downtown Portsmouth for a while, so I'm thrilled…read morethis place finally opened. It's a great addition, the atmosphere is lively and youthful, and it would be good for groups (just note they don't take reservations yet). The ramen was delicious, with a rich, flavorful broth. They give you a generous amount of noodles and pork belly, enough to feel satisfied without being overwhelming. While I wouldn't come here solely for the yakitori due to the price, the ramen is absolutely worth the $20. What would have made this a five-star experience are a couple small details: The cabbage salad (Kyabetsu) would benefit from being shredded more traditionally- the larger pieces were a bit bitter and less enjoyable. Also, please please PLEASEE cut the egg in half before adding it to the ramen!!! Trying to break it into bite-sized pieces with chopsticks is awkward. It's the little things that really elevate the experience. All in all, I'd highly recommend this spot on a cold winter night. Hoping you're around for a long time!

Restaurant Week in Portsmouth was the perfect opportunity to try out Moxy. Plus an added bonus of…read more$42 for a 4-course meal made it more interesting. We found street parking close to the restaurant so that was great while paying close attention to the fact that street parking is not free in the area until 8 pm. I made a reservation and we were seated right away after we entered the restaurant. Our table was situated on the first floor so the area was small but we had enough space between table to have a private conversation. I started out with salmon tartare and it was my least favorite of all. I found the pita to taste somewhat stale and I ended up not eating it. Salmon was good but I did not find that cream cheese added to the dish. It might be a matter of personal preference but I wished I started out with something else from the menu. My shrimp scampi was delicious and I would come back for this dish. Pasta and sauce were great and shrimp were a nice size. I then went with the beef stew. I found the pastry to be somewhat salty but it balanced with the stew that was slightly underseasoned. Maybe it was intended to be that way. It was a decent dish overall. I loved the strawberry panna cotta. Their rhubarb chutney was beautiful and the dish was a great way to end my meal. I would come back to this restaurant in the future to try out their regular menu.

For drinks, I got a glass of Malbec (which was very nice), but they also had many enticing cocktails and mocktails. The restaurant week menu consisted of 4 pre-fixe courses. For the first course, I chose the Salmon Tartare, which was fresh and tasty. It wasn't very salty, which I appreciated. I also tried my friend's carrot soup, which had a nice creamy texture with crunchy peas for contrast. For the second course, I chose the Mushroom Labneh. This one was awesome! Next was the Chicken Thigh, which was so juicy and paired well with the garlic sour cream. I also loved my dessert - Griddled Corn Muffins with wild blueberry compote. Service was friendly and seamless, and we left full and happy. Highly recommend for dinner!

I got a Polpetto pizza and it was quite good. The crust was cooked but not crispy, and there was a decent amount of toppings. I only ate half so the price was reasonable too. Would come back again.

Roaming the streets of Portsmouth without a care in the world while enjoying the lights and sounds…read moreon a cold winter's eve, the thought of carbs laden with luscious melted cheese beckoned me like a siren's song. First stop, busy. Second stop, twas still busy. Third stop, the word Napoletana caught my attention. One of my favorite styles of pizza, I didn't even think twice to verify the legitimacy of their offerings and walked right through the door and sat by the bar (skipping the long wait for a table). Two bartenders, night and day in their demeanor. One was rather calm and quiet BUT very polite and efficient. The other, rude and inattentive. I'm glad (and thankful) that the former of the two waited on my side of the bar. It was very busy and the atmosphere was filled with celebratory cheer. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. Food came at a reasonable time based on how busy things were. Bartender 1 checked in often to make sure everything was good. Thank you again. Mussels fra diavolo was cooked well and to the right texture. Sauce very buttery, salted well and with just a little heat (not spicy at all like the name implies). Toast was a little too toasted, lol. However, when the pizza arrived, is when I realized that names are just names. This is not Napoletana pizza. While the ingredients were an amazing combination on their Fichi pizza, the soggy center was an absolute letdown. Mushy dough is a tad much to accept. And now enters bartender 2 at the end of my meal after awesome bartender 1 had waited on our side this whole time. From a foot away while talking to another patron at the bar, he literally tossed the guest check presenter toward me without making any effort to actually place it down professionally. I've not had any interaction with him to warrant this behavior and would have rather ended this evening thanking bartender 1 for his kind service. That said, I left wondering WTF I just walked into based on a name that didn't live up to its name at all. Such a shame. Beautiful place, great concept and menu, poor execution overall.
