This visit, I was greeted warmly by the staff, and they prepared my order quickly and with a smile. I ordered an iced Americano, which was very strong (perfect), and I could feel the caffeine jolt immediately. They also add an extra touch by providing gold foil-wrapped paper straws to their guests. The music was so loud that it wouldn't matter if I used noise canceling headphones. Forget about a conference call. It's just not happening. Also, the acoustics of the room are such that every voice echoes, creating so much sound that I just had to get the hell out of there. It wasn't just me, either. The lady next to me moved outside. When I walked in, I smiled, said, "Hello, how are you?" and the barista just stared at me without responding. I ordered a simple vanilla oat milk latte, and when it was time to pay, I felt like I was being rushed through the transaction. The interaction made me feel more like an inconvenience than a customer. To make matters worse, the latte itself wasn't good and I understand that everyone can have an off day. But great coffee shops are about more than just coffee they're about hospitality. A warm greeting, a little kindness, and making customers feel welcome go a long way.
