Two scoops of rice, two perfectly seasoned hamburger patties, two eggs, and the most delicious gravy I've had in a long time. The portions were generous and the prices were more than reasonable. I also couldn't resist grabbing some freshly baked Chocolate Chip Banana Bread and Pumpkin Crunch Cake with cream cheese frosting to take back to the cottage. Both were still warm when I got there--pure heaven. The vibe is pure local: simple tables and chairs out front, ideal for people-watching. They offer fruit smoothies that are much bigger than those across the street - $8 for 20 oz of fresh fruit smoothies instead of $9 for like 10 ounces across the street. They also offer other desserts like boba teas and halo halo, which we found to be very delicious and very reasonably priced. This would be great place to stop by before or after your hike at Waimea for baked goods, trail mix/chips, sandwiches and/or teas and dessert. I would highly consider ordering sandwiches and snacks to-go and then having them on my hike. I also ordered a malasadas and bought some trail mix for the road - all packaged by 4tea. I think the price points are great and the owners are very kind. However, I noticed the downside of this store is the small signage, which I couldn't even see eating at Island Taco. But what we did was park near Island Taco (since they do not have their own lot but instead they share the lot with a private homeowner). So I would park on the street or nearby and walk over. Alongside the trail mix, they also have fruit candies, chips, bakery items, and sandwiches of all kinds - all very reasonably priced. It's hard because this place does not have seating, but you can easily grab this food to go and enjoy it at a beach nearby like Salt Pond Park.
