We love this place. The people are so nice. Everything on the island is going to be expensive and we expect that. We came here twice so far and we tried the smoothies, drip coffee, two banana breads, a mana shirt (means strength/power), cut pineapples, and papaya (it was in the verge of going bad so I asked for a discount and I got one). They gave us free fried rice to try it was great. The bathrooms are clean and the seating area had games for our family. It's truly about hanging loose and relaxing just being in a beautiful place eating fresh fruits and just taking a deep breath. The food was fresh and has a homemade touch. She even cut the papaya for us to enjoy. It's near our hotel so it was a nice pit stop for our daily dose of smiles. The outdoor is cute too for the little ones.

Five minutes east of the airport on your right-hand side of the road. Coffee, smoothies, and ono food. Definitely have to return for another Iron Man smoothie.

Best smoothie of my life. The fruit was beyond fresh. And anything off of their food menu is spectacular. This is a must stop when in kauai

We've passed by this shop over a few dozen times over the years & decided to give it a go. The items are handmade from the Koa tree that is found in Hawaii. There are pens, jewelry, bags/purses, wallets, key chains, cutlery, ornaments, vases, kitchen items & other curious artwork displayed for sale. Candace was manning the shop & she was so friendly & welcoming. She even suggested a lady who might be able to create what we're looking for. This lady works from home & has a website (Tropical Isle Music). I love to support local businesses & Candace was so charming, I bought a couple of Aloha Hula girl ornaments & a pineapple (see photo) ornament. There's a few spaces for parking that it shares with Mankoa & a granola shack. It was lovely speaking with Candace, who I learned is actually half Filipino & half Japanese, born & raised in Kaua'i. Her grandfather was one of the first Filipinos who arrived from the Philippines to work in the plantations in Hawaii. It's always interesting to learn about people & their heritage. I'm very pleased with the experience & my purchases at this shop

They have a good mix of completely predictable chains (so that you don't lose your mind from trying all new things) to locally owned businesses (so you don't lose your soul from selling out to the corporate machines.) We got lunch at Subway, stopped in at Starbucks, ABC Store and Ross. Yes, we are total corporate chain sell outs and I am completely ashamed of myself. Tomorrow I make the commitment to buy my coffee from a local hipster coffee shop that only single origin pour overs from a responsible fair trade grower, buy all my produce from a farmers market, go to Goodwill and buy used clothing so I create less waste, and get my takeout from a mom 'n pop restaurant who sources 40% of their product from local organic growers. Who am I kidding? I'll just start with the coffee and we'll see how it goes from there...
