I have been going to this dermatologist for years. The decline in service at this office is alarming! Lots of turnover in staff, rude receptionists at the front desk and very little follow up when you have a problem. It seems that the doctor has more interest in trying to sell you expensive fraxel laser treatments and expensive skin care products than actually diagnosing skin conditions and recommending treatments. I can't recommend this office enough - I was referred here by my main dermatologist to get UVB therapy. I'd been dealing with a skin condition called PLEVA for months and nothing was really helping. Dr Laub listened and was very understanding at my first appointment. He was confident that we could fix my condition. It was really great to have that assurance, since I'd started to feel hopeless. It only took about 3 weeks of treatment and now my PLEVA is completely gone. The results are incredible and I'm eternally grateful. If you're struggling with a weird or stubborn skin issue, go here. The procedures I've had with him, from laser to help with acne scaring to biopsies after skin checks, have been completely painless. Dr. Laub is a true expert in his medical field, and I can't recommend him enough as an aesthetic dermatologist as well. I asked Dr. Laub for his top suggestions on how to rejuvenate my middle-aged face. He immediately noticed that I had prominent jaw muscles from grinding my teeth at night/TMJ. He suggested Botox in my jaw to shrink the muscles and a tiny amount of filler in my upper cheekbones. So subtle, but it completely restored my face to its youthful v-shape! No other dermatologist had ever recommended this. As an added bonus, I have no more jaw and teeth pain from clenching. It's such a simple fix and really worked wonders on my overall appearance. I've been seeing him for nearly 15 years to treat my rosacea and the vbeam treatments on my face, neck and décolleté have done wonders! I had been unsuccessfully treated previously for my rosacea and found out that Dr. Laub is Harvard educated on the laser technology now used most everywhere. I regularly receive complements on my skin and I have sent dozens off friends and colleagues to see him. His vitamin C serum and tinted moisturizer are world class and Penny on his team always makes the best product recommendations. My son went here to have a scar removed and it got infected. We didn't know and when we went back to have Dr. Laub look at it he went in again and cut out the scar more not noticing that it wasn't healing bc it was infected. Doctor Laub is one of the best. As most have said in other reviews here, Dr. Laub is a friendly and conversational guy (and his team behaves the same way). I've had some doctors who blitz through a routine check and barely say a word. You're rushed in and rushed out and hardly get a chance to ask questions. Dr. Laub and his team take the time to get to know you and do their best to make you feel comfortable - and that can make it a lot easier to talk about things you might be self conscious about with your skin. Sure, anyone can serve up a bit of small talk, but when Dr. Laub asks you questions about your life, you can tell he cares about the answers because when you come back in 6 months, he'll remember what you spoke about and follow up on things. His memory is impressive! Despite being chatty, they run a tight ship here and are always on time. If you've ever sat in a doctor's waiting room flipping through old magazines while the time ticks away, you'll be glad to hear that's not how things go here. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes after checking in for my appointment to begin, and once you're in the room, the doctor comes right by. Not a moment wasted. As others have mentioned, Doctor Laub offers a lot of different services and they've got a slew of products here. If you want to up your skincare game, he'll point you to some products that you won't find on a shelf at CVS. But they're not pushy. If you're happy with what you've got at home, no problem. I live in the city and still make the drive up to see Doctor Laub in Marin (and pay the bridge toll on the way back) because he and his team are the best. And this is a bit of a silly bonus, but I enjoy coming here because the office is lovely. The space is immaculately clean, has a great view of a tranquil part of the bay, and you'll never have trouble finding parking. Win, win, win. As a family man himself, Dr. Laub's bedside manner with both my boys for sensitive issues such as acne and warts was remarkable. Sensitive issues that are not well received by a parent are received with high regard and trust via Dr. Laub's humor and professionalism. As a result, Dr. Laub was successfully able to remedy my boys and build their confidence (his products are highly recommended!). In terms of Dr. Laub's aesthetic skills - they are unparalleled! Having a genetic and life long battle with rosacea, pigmentary changes on chest, facial vessels, and leg veins...Dr. Laub was successfully able to remedy all these challenges. As a surfer and sun lover, his new V Beam (called the V Prima Beam) was able to conquer all my damage! So grateful his office was one of the first Physician's offices in the US to use it! Additionally, I have seen Dr. Laub's artisanal skills to use fillers and botox to essentially perform mini facelifts. All of the reviews are true (really). Laub is a cosmetic dermatologist (not medical dermatologist). He is trained in both but his forte is cosmetics, and I had the laziest "yearly skin check" I have ever had from him. Pro's + You can get an appointment + He can be charismatic, and I believe he really cares Con's - He sells everyone the same topicals (Vit C and Hyaluronic Acid) - He then sells people botox and fillers - He doesn't necessarily try to "solve" your problem, but simply - this is my sense - likes to build his business (regular customers for products/fillers) - He can be really, really busy, and might spend just a few minutes with you (after waiting 40 minutes or more, you get 5 minutes with the doctor) read more

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. What a pompous jerk! He kept me waiting for over an hour. I was then placed in a room for another 25 minutes. He finally appeared spoke to me for less than 5 minutes and then left to take a phone call. He was back in 5 minutes ordered blood tests and told me he would contact me when he had the results. That was over 6 months ago. I just happened across this yelp review of Dr. Laub and felt I would be remiss if I did not let others know of his callous treatment. I came in for my yearly check and for info on washes - I mentioned my wedding was coming up and immediately was pushed SO many products & services. IPL, fillers... I said no thank you to Dr. Laub's sales girl - then the Doctor came in and tried to close me more, saying "I don't understand why you're hesitant? Most people do this day of!" Sorry, but I wasn't going to make a decision or be forced into anything same day, and without it even being the reason I came in the first place. When I asked about a small mole and if it had grown from the last year or if I should be concerned (one of the reasons I made the appointment) the doctor's response was, "oh I didn't make a note last year so not sure."
