We love it here! We always eat here while visiting my father in law (who lives near here). I always get the Bollywood bowl and I love it. I also always get a mango peach lemon smoothie, once in a while it's a little too heavy on the lemon lol. My husband, FIL and his wife get something different every time we come, they always like what they get. We also go for chips and salsa - which you can't go wrong with. My husband and FIL usually get a margarita and they seem to line it. I wish there was a laughing planet up by us (the Seattle area). My local Laughing Planet, which I probably head to like once a week, due to their nice variety of somewhat, or should we say semi-? healthy options. Hey it beats Taco Bell. The associates at the counter are always great - friendly, patient and helpful, whether you're eating in or taking out. Good selection of beers and ciders on tap, and there's a very urban-ish (concrete) patio out back. Food is reliably good - I always get the Thai Bowl -- though I will say the ambience here is less than ideal. It feels like a cave... which makes me want to deduct another star. But I won't. Also, food is pricy for what you get, but I don't mind paying for (mostly) freshness and I'm glad it's close by. read more

We have been eating food from Laughing Planet for a long time. We like their healthy choices and flexible meals that you can add or subtract ingredients to/from at will. They are very accomodating. Everything tastes great. Today we nabbed lunch - I added mushrooms and extra cheese to their BBQ chicken quesadilla and added some guac and sour cream on the side. The kid got a ginormous comfort bowl with tofu, cauliflower, rice, beans, avocado, cheese, olives, cilantro, pico de gallo and who knows what else with chips and salsa and a PB&J dairy free smoothie. We also got a salted chocolate chunk cookie. I think the cookies are vegan but I am not sure. Everything was tasty and delicious. Maybe a little expensive but so is everywhere else right? They are great for kid's meals ( mine has been eating guac and tofu and rice there since babyhood) and if you eat in they have fun dinosaur decor. read more

The menu here is both interesting and healthy - and a wrap goes a long way, two or three meals in my case. I also appreciate being able to order by phone and pick up to take home. They also have good cookies and specials weekly - and the one at Vermont and SW 45th (near Gabriel Park) offers a senior discount on Tuesdays. We often get LP pickup but decided to go in today and eat at the restaurant. Went in at 4:45 and the place was empty. It took 30 minutes to get our food. This is not exotic food. When we asked why it took so long we were told there were take-out orders. This is a place that claims they give priority to people eating at the restaraunt. We both chose the Korean BBQ bowl with beef & it was delicious! The broccoli was cooked just right- crisp-tender- and the beef was tender & tasty. I enjoyed the quick pickled cucumbers but my husband opted out of them. We shared chips & salsa while we waited & as a south Texan used to Tex Mex, I was pleasantly surprised by the perfectly spicy salsa. The service was quick & our food came out quickly too. Their Facebook page said that they were having a 25% off gift card sale over the holidays - no dates provided that the sale would be happening, but what they did fail to provide was the coupon code for ordering the gift cards on their website. I called this branch and talked to somebody who was very kind, who subsequently asked her manager and even a second person if they knew anything about it. They basically all said "no." She asked if the shopping cart on the website automatically calculated the discount in the checkout phase and I told her I tried that but it didn't work. She said, "You will need to come into the store. If you come in, we can give you a discount when you buy it." Well that doesn't quite work because I live in California and am buying it for somebody who actually lives like 3 blocks away from your store but....ok. I ended up buying the gift card online. $50 for that, plus another $5 I guess to put it in an envelope and mail it out. Food was very good. Six of us including an 8 year old and a 6 year old arrived very hungry! After deciding on our order we got a basket of chips with guacamole and red sauce. Guacamole was delicious, sauce was a bit spicy for some but we demolished the first bowl of chips and ordered a second bowl. Little guy had the cheese quesadilla which he like and which he shared with his brother, mother, & father. Other son had the beef tacos, he said they were okay but convinced his dad to trade his second taco with half of his dad's burrito. He liked the burrito better. I am shocked that this place doesn't get better ratings over all. My wife and I have been here 2 times in 2 days. Both days the food was really good and the service was great. Love coming to Laughing Planet! It's one of the few restaurants nearby where our kids can be themselves and don't have to stay seated the entire time. The food is delish and healthy, the staff is always so friendly and welcoming, and service is expedient. The ambiance is definitely nothing to right home about, but with it being minutes from our home, kid friendly, relatively healthy, and they have margaritas and beer, it's hard to argue with this spot. In the summer, we love sitting in the back outside. They have chalk for the kids while we enjoy our drinks and the fresh air! I wish they'd add some plants and other touches to take the ambiance up a notch like the vibe of the Woodstock location. It's only downfall, to me! read more

The night David and I walked in, the place was happy busy, and maybe not packed due to the impending snow storm. My Son savored his burrito (of which I lost track of all the options he chose), while I ordered a Indian-flavored bowl. The portions were certainly generous and I was very happy with the red ale I ordered on tap. At the same time, I didn't find it all that flavorful, especially for a curry dish. Maybe the dishes here are served more on the bland side, with the expectation that they'll be spiced up? In any event, David and I had a nice time hanging out with each other and the toy dinosaurs. Time for another update. Something good has been going on at this location recently. The staff has been super friendly and attentive, and much more organized. I've also figured out that calling in for takeout, just doesn't work at this location during busy times. So I call in a head of time, let's say 4 o'clock, and and request a specific pick up time, I.e. 6 o'clock. The food is still great, with local, and fresh ingredients, so it's become a regular stop again.
