The rep we spoke to earlier in the week instructed we stop into a store as soon as we got dad's death certificate. So we did. However, this was apparently not the process we were supposed to follow. After helping us get customer service on the line again, Heather, the store manager, hearing how our conversation was going with this second service rep, sat with us and helped walk us through everything. When we hung up for the second time we still didn't have the issue resolved, so she called them again with us. After an hour + in the store, my mom was finally good to go. Now, I've been a Verizon customer since I was 16 years old and I stay with them for their customer service, but don't think I have ever had someone so invested in making sure we had the help we needed. I seriously cannot say thank you enough. The kindness and compassion she showed my mom and I, especially sitting with us through two (in store) calls to customer service, after they told us that they couldn't help, was unparalleled. My wife walked over and picked out a phone case that she really wanted...and we stood and watched people for ten minutes. Couldn't figure out if we were supposed to check in or how to check out. There is no register or customer service...just a few folks with a Verizon polo engaged in pleasantries with random folks strewn around the store. How do I get myself into these things? Don't get me wrong--I LOVE brick and mortar. I won't be back here again unless I have no choice, though. They have lost the art of interacting with people, and their accessory inventory is very limited.

All the time, they were trying to upsell me to not only keep their service, but to upgrade it. FFS, how hard is it to understand that I am CLOSING this office and don't need their internet service or equipment? +++2 months after I finally got the account closed and equipment returned....I got a call from Comcast regarding them having a serice order to MOVE our internet service to another location. NO! It took me like an hour on the phone with them to convince them that we were no longer even a Comcast customer! There was a time, long, long ago, that Comcast used to be an exceptional company. Now, their call centers are staffed out of the U.S., and they have COMPLETELY lost their focus on any sort of customer service or satisfaction.

When I finally ended my service, not only was I lied to, and said I would not need to have a line changed, I had to get Spectrum to do that, and they tried to charge me over $400 for their equpiment that I sent back, and is NOT worth a 10th of that. The only glitch was the installation was initially scheduled for Sunday; however, Dish rescheduled it for Wednesday via an email that my husband overlooked. WE have an aggressive dog, and we have to medicate him when strangers are in our house, so the installation appointment change messed up our day due to medicating our dog unnecessarily. on Wednesday, the technician showed up, was extremely polite and spent about 2 hours on the installation. He updated hubs' phone with the app and walked him through using the app. Unfortunately, the second Google thermostat we bought doesn't work on split system HVACs which means we will need an additional installation for that thermostat. I thought the Dish technician did a great job and I would recommend them and Google thermostats!

I have an issue with a final bill, I left because of terrible service, and these folks cannot even manage to get this straight. On the first call I was transferred 8 times and wound up being connected to a credit agency and the second time I was transferred 10 times with the same result. Verizon used to be a great company and I was with them for over 15 years, but then they lost sight of their most valuable asset - their customers. I left them and paid all I owed, with a customer service rep taking care of the business. Then all of the sudden I get hit with the $80 charge that was already dealt with. Even though disputed, they have put this on my credit history. That is a bush league move, especially when the customer has ALWAYS paid his bill in a timely manner. Verizon has turned into a predatory company with NO respect for customers. They do not care about the issue and they just say they are right no matter what. Do yourself a big favor and DO NOT ever be associated with this company. There is much better out there at much better rates.
