They removed the drawstring from a $225 hoodie for no clear reason, lost it, and then refused to offer any compensation. When I brought it up, they claimed it was my responsibility to remove it before sending it in--something they never warned me about. No attempt to check or resolve the issue. BUYER BEWARE! I started using laundry butler a few years ago to offload my personal workload. After reading the mixed reviews, I decided to only use them for towels and linens as I was not willing to have them lose or ruin my personal clothing, as other reviewers testified. Over the last few years they lost my RH bath rug, tore my RH duvet, and also tore 1 towel and 2 pillowcases. After each event I notified them and they gave me a store credit of $25. I accepted that they were going to tear things but as long as they offered a compensation I was willing to take the risk. Mind you, $25 will not replace these items as RH and Cozy Earth products are at least triple this reimbursement. More recently I was told that they changed their policy and that I needed to notify them within 24 hours if an item was damaged or missing. This would mean that I needed to unfold all of my towels and sheets to look for damaged items....defeating the purpose of having my laundry outsourced. Last month, another pillowcase came back torn (mind you none of the tears are at a seam, they are in the middle of the item). All of the tears look identical and must be catching on a machine as they're pulled out of the washer or dryer. I let them know about the pillow case and they asked that I send it in for repair, to which I did. I actually sent them in 2 pillow cases they had torn. 3 weeks later they had not returned my pillowcases. I called customer service and they said they'd get back to me ASAP. Another week went by...nothing. I finally reached Tyler yesterday and he told me that they did not cause the tears and would no longer be issuing me credits. I told them that I would no longer be using them because of this as they consistently ruin items. I asked them to refund my credit card, to which Tyler replied he would not. He could only offer a credit with Laundry Butler. This does me no good if I am no longer using them. I asked them to return my items and Tyler has gone radio silent. BUYER BEWARE! ZERO stars! The fact I'm taking time to write a negative review on my day off should speak volume. Made an account and scheduled a pick up but they unfortunately wanted me to leave my laundry outside while I was at work and that simply would not work for me. I cancelled. No harm, No foul. Nearly 3 months later I'm charged roughly $45 which ate into my gas budget for the week. I called customer service, they started a case and investigated. When I got a call back from Megan she explained the owner told her, "oh good now he's paid he can come get his laundry". I told her I never set out laundry and this must be some terrible mistake. She provided photos of two huge bags of old baseball caps - some of which said Retired Navy Vet and something like Worlds Best Grandpa. I told her no way those are mine. I'm not a veteran or a grandpa. I even provided some alternative ideas of how they may have picked up trash instead on accident or something. Megan assured me she would continue to work on this and call me back. I was very calm and collective though shocked throughout the entire process and after not hearing back for some days I called back and was told she took Pto leave instead of calling me back. Still I was calm. By the 7th day of no updates and being lied to about getting called back I made one more call. I pleaded and stated my case to two more reps. They said unfortunately the owner is the only one who can approve a refund and he is denying it. Alex I think is the name I was given. I was not able to reach out to the owner directly. To this very moment they have some random persons hats and my money. Terrible service and I would NOT recommend dealing with Laundry Butler ! Disgusting service and the owner should be ashamed. Instead wash your laundry yourself at Lucy's Laundry in Costa Mesa. A beautiful and clean facility with plenty of machines and sitting areas. And best of all, incredibly polite staff who are always helpful and so kind. Enjoy the Hats, Laundry Butler. I have used Laundry Butler for over two years. Recently, I received my laundry and the whites were stained punk/red. Some expensive gym clothing was destroyed. I phoned the company and explained the situation and was told I would receive a call the owner/manager. That call never came. They called pretty much as soon as I registered online, and told me all the details of how the process is, and what to expect. I only used this company one time, I will not use them again. The guy that delivered my clothes, delivered them to the wrong address. If I did not have a caregiver at the house that could tell me that nothing was delivered, by the time I got home from work, the company probably would not have been open for me to call and complain and I probably would've lost all of my clothes. The communication between the company and the customer is poor. There is a lack of urgency when items are missing. We have used them twice, the first time we got items that did not belong to us - several pairs of underwear. The second time 10 pieces of laundry were missing. I have used LB for a few months on and off and my mother has regularly for about 6 months. I'm giving 2 stars because the overall service is good, clothes clean, quick turnaround etc. The issue is I have been missing items (2 are brand new and relatively expensive) and contacted customer service about it. After my first message they said they would check with the "facility." Several weeks and 7 follow ip messages later I havent received another answer or update. The Customer service is absolutely terrible! I have very specific notes in my profile, which were not followed. Items were ruined by being dried when I specifically requested they be hang dried. Certain items were stained. I was told they would be picked up and re-cleaned at no charge to which I was charged a dry cleaning fee for each of the items. I contacted customer service multiple times over the course of several weeks. I was always told that they would contact the facility manager and someone would follow up with me... I am torn since I had Laundry Butler service for the last few years and everything was great. . .I did note that they seemed to struggle with matching socks. Since most of my socks were cheapo socks from like Costco, I didn't make a big deal about it. Then I started buying relatively expensive socks to help my boost my athletic performance (like 18 dollars per pair Feetures). They lost two of those and paid for it. Alex was very accommodating. But then it happened again with the next load. I wrote to Alex and said someone had a thing for golf socks evidently. I noted that I would need to look for another service. I was immediately cancelled without notice. I hate to give them only two stars since for two years they were excellent. I think they either lost quality control or hired a sock thief. Anyway, for your every day stuff, they are great, but keep your socks if they are expensive to hand wash. Sorry Alex, but I think you got too big and lost something in the mix. Our clothes were laundered multiple times with someone else's... first my husbands white Nordstrom socks and undershirts came back allllll with a hint of blue added to them, obviously not washed with all of our whites. I called and notified laundry Butler was told they would make it right. Clothes were dropped off and while I was putting them away I found 4 socks mixed in that were not ours. Luckily they were able to contact the driver and have him come back to fix his error, but it took longer that I would like to get our clothes back. My cousin recommended Laundry Butler to me and now I'd like to recommend them to you, we use them weekly and it's been a great service. You can choose the detergent you'd like to use, we like Mrs. Meyers but you can choose from seventh generation, Tide etc. also you can select bleach or no bleach. They wash, dry, fold or hang clothes and bag your laundry returning it the next day. They will pick up/ drop off from your home and/ or office. It's definitely worth it, less than $2 per pound. If you have the weekly service it's less than $1.80 per pound. You can give them notes and they text you with reminders. read more

I had set up service with this company. I am allergic to Tide laundry detergent and had provided my own laundry detergent and left instructions both online and with the person I spoke on the phone with prior to the first pick up. When I got my clothes back, the smelled differently than they normally do. I didn't think anything and showered and put the clothes on. Within 25 minutes I had broken out and had to shower again. When I sent the issue to customer service they were very short and insisted that I was wrong. They charged more than any other service I've had and I had to take my clothes to a laundromat and have them wash them. Someone offered to rewash my clothes but I'm afraid to send them when I already have them returned breaking me out. I'm glad I paid $50 for two loads of laundry where I provided my own detergent and dryer sheets to learn to never use this company again! Best $50 I've ever spent! If they would have been a little more kind or receptive of the issue then I would not be as upset. Very impersonal and short.
