I can only speak about the cookies. The cookies are only one dollar. However, they are only about as good as the Pillsberry cookie dough cookies. I would rather have a Costco cookie. In addition, when I used GrubHub to take out from their Laura's Loaves/Laura's Cafe and Bakery, they never refunded me the money for the brownies that I did not receive at all. in addition, I am assuming that they ran out of the double chocolate cookies because I got chocolate chip cookies instead. If there are problems with the GrubHub order, they should just call my cell phone to discuss it. In the end, I had to contact GrubHub directly to get a refund for the undelivered brownies. read more

I have been going to Laura's Café & Bakery since they opened in 1994. I was introduced to Laura's by a then co-worker who lived nearby. She would stop in on the way to the office and get the most delicious muffins for us. Not sure if they still make muffins since I don't see them on the menu. Their cappuccino muffins were fabulous. They also used to make lemon cookies that were amazing. Our favorite item on the menu, by far, is their almond chicken salad. OMG! It is absolutely to die for! I can't even describe how delicious it is. You can choose either a croissant, wheat bread, or white bread. We don't go often since it's a bit of a drive, but we stopped in today and I'm a happy camper. If you are in the area, make sure to stop in for an almond chicken salad sandwich. Still just as delicious the first time I ate here (13 years ago)! Tiny shop with two bistro tables inside and two outside. Nice selection of sandwiches but I am a sucker for anything with almonds, so of course I got myself the chicken almonds salad. Everything about this sandwich is perfection. Chicken is flavorful, the right amount of crunchy almonds and celery. The croissant was fresh, soft and fluffy. I did bring my own chips as I don't like most main stream chips (lays, Doritos etc). Out front there are baked goods on display, bearclaws, brownies, etc, smells amazing, there's a pot of hot coffee behind the server, there's an older lady in the kitchen who just took my order for a turkey sandwich with bacon on country potato bread. The lady in the front asks me if I want to make it a lunch bag special, that sounds like a good decision so I say yes. The coffee is hot, fresh. The lunch bag special is around $14 it includes a large sandwich cut into 2, a pickle spear, a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie and a bag of chips. I dunk the cookie in the hot coffee, score, that was a good move. Now for the sandwich. If I had an American grandma who made sandwiches with the same love and grace she'd have for her grandson this would be one of those - potato bread is soft, so is the light layer of mayo, followed by the salty crunch of the bacon, followed by the cold ,textured salad, followed by a dedicate smoosh of the layered turkey. The sandwich is perfect, it's absolutely perfect. This place is known for their almond chicken salad sandwich served in between an open croissant. I shall try this next. Food tastes awful, we ordered 4 sandwiches lunch bags and they were the cheapest made sandwiches I've ever purchased. My chicken salad sandwich was so bad I took a bite and threw it away. Cheap bag of chips you don't get to pick also with an unappetizing cookie. I discarded the whole bag. Please don't waste your money on the drinks either. OMG! I LOVE THIS SPOT! They are so welcoming and so nice and ALWAYS get my order right! I call ahead of time and they always make sure it's ready right when I pick it up! The young woman that works in the front is so sweet! She always hooks me up and knows my order by heart! There sandwiches are bomb! The cookies the make fresh are YUMMY! The lemon one is my fav! It's a local favorite my coworkers told me about and have been going ever since. Only thing is they close at 2:30 ish most days! UPDATED Review from 7/13: I'm updating my review of Laura's (and added a couple more pictures). After I posted my original review a couple days ago, the owner contacted me right away and took responsibility for the change in hours/confusion and took the time to explain why. So I'm rescinding my last sentence 100%. Apparently it is because of their commitment to their customers that they were changing the hours so that they could accommodate them. I just happened to get caught in between the time changes on that particular day as they were discussing it with their customers. I appreciate the fact that he reached out to me and took the time to explain things without getting defensive. So to be clear, their hours are (effective July 18, 2022) settled at 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Closed on Saturday (catering events only) & Sunday. I also submitted a special order (via our Yelp discussion) for their chicken salad sandwich which is normally available around 9 to 9:30 a.m. in the morning but arranged for a special pick up time of 7:50 a.m. that morning. They made it with and without nuts and accommodated my request to have the chicken salad packed separately from the croissant. I wasn't planning to eat it right away and didn't want their amazing croissant to get soggy. In addition, I ordered (fresh off the press menu item) their new egg salad sandwich and pastrami sandwich. The egg salad is sooooo smooth and creamy. Haven't tried the pastrami yet. I also got a few dessert items which I had last time. The raspberry and lemon cheesecake bars, which are really good. I added a (discounted-day old which they sell) lemon cookie and fresh out of the oven snickerdoodle (almost 6 inches wide), both of which were really good, not too sweet. Also, don't let the 4 stars fool you. It's probably closer to 4.5/5 Stars. I think most of the negative reviews are from the previous owner. You'll notice that the more recent reviews are 5 stars due to the new owners. So thanks to Laura's (Dionicio) for the amazing service and food. I look forward to my next visit. Review from 7/11: The first time I stopped by this place, it was their chicken sandwich that won me over. It's not a "sit down" place but there are a couple small tables along both sides. Back to the food: there's a generous portion of chicken salad (which has nuts) nestled in between two buttery and very flaky croissants. So be forewarned, it can be a little messy but it's so good. I wished this place was closer and promised myself that the next time I was in the area, I would definitely stop by. So you're probably wondering why it's only 3 stars? Let me explain. Fast forward to my most recent visit. The Yelp hours says that it's open at 7 a.m. so I stopped by right at 7 a.m. this past Monday (7/11). To my disappointment, there was a sign posted that says effective 7/11, the new extended hours are now 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. So I planned my day to stop by later in the afternoon and when I returned (around 3:30 p.m.) there was new sign that says the extended hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. are effective 7/18. See the signs that I posted below to show that I'm not just making this up. I even sent notified Yelp of these changes. Okay, I thought to myself, perhaps they changed their hours back to 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. until next week. So this morning (Tuesday, 7/12 because I have an obligation to be in the area for this week), I made it a point to stop by again and this time, I would be there at 8 a.m. thinking that they should be open by then. At 7:55 a.m. I saw someone in the store and they had some items already in display. I thought, okay, we're good to go and waited until 8 a.m. I tried the door and it was still locked and the "open" sign was still off. So I waited 5 more minutes, still nobody in the store. I waited until 8:10 a.m., still nobody in the store and the sign was still off. Unfortunately I couldn't wait any longer. Alas, it wasn't meant to be and as much as I enjoyed their food, I'm equally disappointed at their lack of communication and time commitment. read more

The croissant isn't too buttery where it leaves your fingers greasy. You know what I mean. The turkey woth cranberry sauce was good, but the chicken salad was better. The croissant at this bakery is out of this earth! It's slightly crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside. I had their delicious egg salad today, and you can totally tell that a lot of love went into making the egg salad. I cannot believe how fine they chopped the eggs so that the egg salad has a very smooth texture! And I was even more impressed that they separated the egg salad and the lettuce from the croissant for the to go order so that the sandwich won't be all soggy. Absolutely superb customer service and wonderful thoughtfulness! I know the Covid pandemic, rising inflation, and the recent robbery rampage have made it very difficult for small businesses. After learning about new owners I stopped by for lunch. The new owners are so kind and sweet. They offered my kids brownies, which were so yummy. Under new ownership!!!! We went today to try the famous chicken almond sandwich on a croissant. My boyfriend ordered the turkey pesto sandwich on croissant. My boyfriend was feeling a little cheap so we just ordered the sandwiches a la carte. We paid about $15 for the 2 sandwiches and we excitedly waited. As we waited, the gentleman behind the counter saw my bf eyeing the dessert case... he then gave us a free cinnamon roll to cure his sweet cravings. As we waited he even offered us a free double chocolate chip cookie. That was such a very sweet offer and we so very appreciated their kindness. We shared the sandwiches and OMG!!!!
