We grabbed a sampler to go after having a beer at Marker 48. Everything smelled delicious so thought we'd give it a go. We tried: The chicken - it was okay, a little dry but flavor was good. The ribs - Again, okay. Have had better. The brisket - It had good flavor but was a little tough. Mac & cheese - Good. Would get it again. Cole slaw - What can I say? Cole slaw is cole slaw. Hubs inhaled the corn bread before I had a chance to try it so I guess it was good. The woman who waited on us at the window was terrific, very cheery and helpful. All in all, okay food, great service. We'll try them again because lots of other reviews rave about the food so maybe it was just a bad day. read more

Just, WOW! First off.... I never write reviews. But felt compelled to write a review for this amazing place because it's been an hour and I'm still thinking about how good it was! We moved to FL from Austin, TX and I'd have to say that this place is better than the famous Terry Blacks BBQ in Austin. We stumbled on this place on a whim, after coming up from Tampa to visit an Asian market. I'm so glad we did! A younger man took our order, he was so nice and polite. Very great personality and upbeat. The seating area was very clean which was so nice because we had toddlers with us. We ordered the 4 meat combo (chicken, pulled pork, ribs and brisket). It was enough for our family of 4 (2 adults 2 toddlers). The green beans and collard greens are to die for. My husband doesn't like collard greens but he said this was really good. Everything was very juicy/moist and flavorful. We ordered another combo to go and a large side of the green beans because it's that good! Will definitely make a trip back when I have a bbq craving. It can be tough to be a BBQ truck in FL, the competition is fierce so you're compared to a lot of similar businesses. Case in point: LaurieCue. I mean it's solid and if it was up in the northeast they'd probably get raves. But down here, they're more like fine. Food quality really isn't the issue and the service people are very sweet. The main issue to me is how many times I've been there and they simply don't have so many items on the menu available anymore, even beyond the ones crossed out on the board. And I totally get that this is an inherent issue with food trucks based on the size of the "venue," but it still seems like it happens too much. Makes for a very frustrating experience at times. It's a shame too because they have such a convenient location, near the intersection of 19 and 50. I'm not saying I wouldn't try there again, but I can't help but consider other competitors in the area that I've had better luck with in terms of menu item availability. read more

First of all, LaurieCue has moved to the corner of Cortez and Commercial Way right by the Mobil gas station. Second, this is one place you must try. I went there a couple nights ago and had the best barbecue I have ever tasted. My platter consisted of tender, lean brisket that literally melted in my mouth with the original sauce, delicious collard greens that tasted homemade like my mother-in-law just made them and brought back wonderful memories, fresh, crispy cole slaw made just the way I like it, and a piece of delicious cornbread. Can I give this place 10 stars??? Like white girl oh my god! I lived in Texas for 16 years so was skeptical as to what this location in little ole Spring Hill could offer. Not skeptical anymore. Y'all...the barbecue is delicious and all, but can we talk about those collard greens? Seriously, I look forward to them the most when I order a platter or sandwich. The platters and the sandwiches are absolutely scrumptious. I've tried both the original and hottie sauce, also great, and can't say enough about the meats. The pork and chicken are cooked to perfection, full of juice and flavor, but not runny. Each meal comes with 2 of their sides: macaroni and cheese, cornbread, *collards*, cole slaw, and some other choices that I can't remember. The macaroni and cheese has improved a lot from when they first opened - it used to be a bit lacking on the cheese, but they seem to have worked out the kinks and now it tastes great. But the collards...so salty, so sour, so collard-y...I love them. The employees are very friendly, and food comes out relatively fast (even when they're busy). They'll bring it to you in the bar, and you can eat it there. The prices are incredible, and can't be beat for homestyle food. My only gripe is that the containers used to bring the food are styrofoam, and that there isn't a recycling system in place for them. Environmentally friendly "take out container" solutions are out there, or perhaps Marker 48 could team up with BarbieCue to recycle containers...other than that, keep on keepin' on! read more

So I have been trying for months to get food from here. Every time I came here they were sold out until today. I got here early and the food was amazing my brother got the brisket and I got the pork platter. The Mac and cheese was delicious!! They use 7 cheeses according to their menu. The green beans and collards had a nice amount of meat making the taste savory. The brisket was soft and tender and the pork was amazing! The amount of food was more than enough and their bbq sauces were delish!! The cornbread had a great taste. We will both be back! read more

Looking forward to trying other items - the cornbread was a little try and would have like butter served with it to eat - I personally like my food hot and wet - the collard greens were amazing and full of flavor and not too much vinegar at all!!! My wife is a collard green snob and she loved them and I don't eat them but I did here and I would get them myself!!! The beans were a bit watery for me and I like a thicker bbq bean experience. The brisket was so soft it melts in your mouth!!! The sauce selection was very good and the one with some heat in it was amazing - I love spicy food and and lots of flavor and I appreciated it! My reviews of BBQ joints have historically included a tidbit about me having lived in Kansas City for a couple years and that most places out of KC just don't stack up. Then there's LaurieCue. This place is close to where I work, and I of course found it on Yelp one day. Since then, I've been here a handful of times. They work out of what is basically a permanent food truck in the parking lot of a gas station. The guy working the counter is always kind and helpful. What is really cool about LaurieCue is that you can text them your order and they are very responsive and accommodating. I have had a few different items here including the pulled pork, pulled chicken, coleslaw, ribs, mac & cheese, the hottie sauce and the Petey sauce. I can honestly say I have not had anything that is even remotely average here. EVERYTHING is delicious and is deserving of a 5 star rating. The meat is always hot, juicy and tender. The seasoning is on point. The sides and sauces are flavorful and fresh. Clearly others agree based on other reviews and their accolades displayed on their trailer. Holy cow! Great BBQ. I have had good and bad from "food trucks", which this is more like a "food trailer". Parked in front of marker 48, I decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did. The brisket was awesome. Had a sandwich with the spicy BBQ sauce. Yum. The green beans were good but the mac & cheese was just so so. Food was quick and the staff answered my questions about the portion sizes honestly. (I didn't want to over eat, i can do that easily with BBQ).
