Been coming here for years and Laurino's has definitely stepped up their game. I think they must have new management or owners. The food has always been good but it has been out of this world the last few times I've gone. Especially the chicken carbonara and buffalo chicken pizza. I haven't been here in years. Tonight was a whole different experience. They used to have a great pizza. The pizza was horrible. The pizza was better than the bartender that wanted to argue with me about her hanging up the phone when I asked a question and then said it would be 20 minutes and it actually took 40 minutes. I asked for a manager and she said there was none. I then went to the restaurant and asked the hostess for the manager and she said there was none. How can a restaurant run without a manager? How can a restaurant run with service people wanting to argue with a patron. The bartender was so argumentative with me. She allowed my pizza to sit on top of the oven for another 20 minutes before delivering it to me. I could see this and she kept going back to the cook complaining about me within clear hearing distance. What an evening! Don't go here. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Firstly, I am not one to complain ever but this was truly the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. We were sat quickly, ordered a small buffalo chicken pizza, chicken piccata, and fries. This all took over an hour to come out. When it did the pizza dough was raw and my chicken turned my stomach. The 'chicken piccata' was served with barely any sauce, minute rice pilaf, and roasted veggies (they were raw) I should also say that a couple was seated across from us after we had already sat down and ordered. They received their food bill in a left wall before we even got our food.. Maybe this was just a bad night for them, but this experience was horrible. I wish I could give it zero stars, or perhaps a minus rating. The food was so bad it was comical. The "sauce" for the pasta was canned whole tomatoes and a bit of the juice. And there was almost none of that. It reminded me of the old joke. "The food was terrible but they gave you a lot." The server had no idea what she was doing. We asked that she bring our salads first before the main course. She did exactly that. Brought the salads out, followed by the entrees thirty seconds later. The menu says the place was opened in 1973. Clearly, it hasn't been renovated once. It smells bad, the seating is very uncomfortable and the menus are so old they use hieroglyphics. read more

Food was terrible and nothing like it was listed on the menu. Lobster nachos for $28 came with 6 small lobster claws thrown on top of a pile of chips and half melted cheese. Didn't come with any sauces and when asked for salsa was given marinara sauce. Quesadilla's did't even come with salsa or sour cream and when asked they said it would be an additional charge. A very small amount of kids plain pasta with butter was $14. Charged $4 for a soda water from the gun! Absolutely wild. Our "Greek" salad came with ranch dressing. It was truly the worse dining experience I've had here in a long time and this was no fault of the waitress. The poor girl was practically by herself. Me and my boyfriend wanted to come and visit this restaurant and eat outside. As we were walking up to the door, there was plenty of available outside seating there was probably about two families outside. When we walked in, nobody was at the front desk and we see a woman walk up to us with her mouth stuffed with food, which was very unprofessional. My boyfriend also asked to be seated outside. The lady had said that there was no outside seating available when clearly there was plenty of tables. All other local establishments were packed with customers at 6:30 on a summer Sunday evening. We figured we'd give it a try since we know they have an outside bar and it was a beautiful night. Place was pretty quiet and unfortunately, outside bar was closed. Sat outside on the patio, no music playing nothing. Service was slow and spotty and food was just not good. Teeny tiny stuffed quahog with a big chunk of shell, almost broke my tooth. Steak tips were just not good - tasted off, almost like they were on their way out. BLT was odd with red onions on it but worst of all, rubbery, chewy bacon. When I mentioned the shell in the quahog and the tiny size to the waitress, she seemed uninterested. Whatever. The positives: beer was cold and mojito was good and strong. We'd go back for a drink possibly but that's about it. read more

It took over an hour to get food and the waitress was extremely inattentive and she only had 4 tables all under 4 people. The appetizer barely came out before the meal. 1 star -- A masterclass in how NOT to run a restaurant. Where do I even begin with Laurino's? We came in excited to enjoy a nice dinner and left hangry, frustrated, and honestly confused how this place is still in business. Let's start with the service: we waited over 35 minutes just to get our drinks. No check-in, no "we'll be right with you"--we were basically invisible. When the drinks finally did arrive, my friend's Miami Vice was fully melted into a sad pink soup, and not even layered like a real Miami Vice. I don't know what that drink was, but it wasn't what she ordered. Now the food... or should I say, the food that never showed up? We ordered a pretty standard amount--an entrée per person and two appetizers to share--and somehow, items still went missing. Fries and clam chowder never even made it to the table. One salad did arrive, but that was another disaster. We specifically asked for no feta and dressing on the side. What we got was feta on the side (???) and absolutely no dressing at all. My friend had ordered lobster on her salad, and after bringing out a plain one, the server casually mentioned that the chef had said "no lobster," as if that had been communicated at any point. So now we had a dry, plain salad with a side of cheese we didn't want, and no dressing. Oh--and let's not forget the oysters. They came out completely plain. No horseradish, no cocktail sauce, no ketchup, no vinegar--literally nothing. Just a plate of raw oysters sitting sadly on their own like they were being punished. Every part of this meal was a letdown. Disorganized, slow, and unbothered staff, melted cocktails, missing food, ignored instructions, and flavorless presentation--it was actually impressive how many ways this went wrong. The one silver lining? The martinis were so strong, it almost felt like they were trying to help us forget the whole experience. Mission nearly accomplished. Skip this place. There are plenty of better options nearby that won't waste your time or forget half your order. read more

As far as I can tell, they're criminals. I ordered a gift card three weeks ago. I wanted a physical card mailed to me, rather than something sent by e-mail, because giving someone a gift card is lame enough. On top of the dollar amount spent on the gift card, they charge $5 for shipping (via USPS) & a $2.50 "service fee." Later the same day, I received a message that the card would be mailed that day & I should expect its delivery in 5 - 10 business days. I was also reminded that they do not provide tracking information despite the $5 shipping charge & $2.50 service fee. Sigh, whatever. Well, here we are 3 weeks later & I have not received the gift card. However, I also use the USPS's Informed Delivery Service, which I check daily. This service lets you know of any mail coming to you each day, whether it's a package or a letter/catalog, gift card...etc. In the 3 weeks I have been waiting for this gift card (which goes considerably beyond the 5 - 10 business days), I saw nothing coming from Laurino's Tavern. So I can only assume they stole the money I paid on the gift card. read more

Disappointing! Took 30 minutes to get a water & soda. Ordered an appetizer (cherrystone size stuffed quahog) with our meal and it came out AFTER the pizza. Never offered a soda refill, though glass was empty halfway thru the meal. Roast beef grinder was sparse, to the point of having to open the roll to see what was in it. *The Big Mac pizza was very good, the only thing that we would recommend from this visit, but it was $30. Waitress never checked back with us. Had to ask twice for a leftover box, which we packaged ourselves. Then waited and had to ask for the bill. We were given two bills with no explanation until asked - one cash amount, one credit card amount. Again she disappeared and had to be tracked down in the kitchen to be given the cash. I'm surprised by myself for not having written a review about Laurino's Tavern yet. I started coming here about 35-40 years ago. I'm not sure these days who know how the name Laurinos came to be... a Laural and a Mario came together and started the restaurant that is just up the street from Nickerson State Park on 6A. I graduared Nauset Regional High School with one of the second generation and this was well before the bar became the bar it is today. Until then it was just the window in the back of the kitchen. I went with my mom to pick up pizza so I could play the Space Invaders or Asteroid games. At any rate, Laurino's is a lower Cape mainstay Italian restaurant and bar. So... let me put out there that I am biased. Laurino's formed many of my childhood expectations on things like pizza and grinders (not subs, hogies or sandwiches). Their sausage and mushroom grinder is my favorite.... then any pizza. I want to try the Big Mac someday. Today, pepperoni. If I lived closer I'd get satisfied with these and be able to move on to their true calling, Italian entries... especially ones with seafood. BTW, always have a stuffed quohog to get things rolling. The bar is so comfortable, you can spend hours and hours here. I have... we used to call it, "going up the hill." Service, pricing and quality are at a superior level.... always. Again, I'm biased. When someone asks me where my local bar is, it's here. Just have to say I'm ashamed ar those who posted sub 5 stars... sub 4... sub 3... who are you? Probably a washashore from somewhere off Cape... seems like this place has potential but it was just ok. i ordered the lobster roll ($24) it was served on an untoasted bun. Very small portion just laying there on a wide open hot dog bun, no shredded lettuce under the lobster salad, one piece of romaine on the side. No sides. when I asked for sides they brought a tiny cup of slaw. Not good tasting. Way too much dill. had to ask for silverware and napkins. Manager should walk the property. Bushes need to be trimmed. It's a cute place. Just needs a bit more attention to detail. read more

We've been to Laurino's many times over the years when on the Cape. Always a good choice for pizza. This time, my husband had the baked scallops and I had the lobster rolls. He said they were some of the best scallops he's ever had. My order came with two lobster rolls and they were delicious. And the prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. Laurino's is a family/homestyle restaurant that surprised me tbh. In first reading the reviews I was a little apprehensive about going there, but my mom lives down the street and was very insistent we go to support a local business. We ordered a large pizza to share, and I really enjoyed it. Obviously it's not NY style pizza - they make homestyle pizza (coming out on a sheet pan) with thicker crust. I liked we were able to pick our own toppings on it, and the linguica is a must have as a topping. I'm really happy with what we got. The dough probably could have gone for another minute or two, but the sauce and toppings were good! Other pros: The outdoor patio was really nice and perfect with the weather. I have had many of their lunch and dinner options and I have always been happy with my choices. Standouts on the menu are the fish sandwich, cheese lasagna, potato skins, and the strip steak dinner. Laurino's pizza is outstanding. Small pies feature the thin crust; large pizzas are tray style with thicker crust. Laurino's has a bar area with a number of tables as well as a dedicated dinning room. another nice thing to do is to hang outside around their fire pit. Just ordered takeout. Simply not good. Clam chowder was tasteless with minimal clams. Calamari order was skimpy and over cooked. Cod fingers were fresh and ok. The Greek Salad and Caesar salads had chicken cold cuts instead of grilled chicken breast and the appropriate dressings were not included. read more

The food was good. Service was excellent. I wouldn't recommend that one eat there. They are very sneaky. When the bill came there was a note inside that said the prices on the menu were the CASH prices and if you wished to use a charge card it was going to be 4% more. No where on the menu is this stated. I thought we were done with this. Other restaurants that were doing this in the past have stopped. It should have been stated up front so I could of made a decision whether I wanted to stay and eat. They also wanted you to tip on the tax and this 4% charge. NOT right. Needless to say I will not be back. Most places that do charge this extra fee put it on the menu so you know up front; not when you have already eaten and don't have the cash to pay. read more

The food here is pretty bland and flavorless. The "pizza" doesn't taste like pizza. The fries taste like McDonalds. And the service is sloooooooooooow. To put the cherry on top, check out the photo I posted to this. Yes that's right, they charge you a fee, in a sit down restaurant, just for using your credit or debit card. A RESTAURANT! We have been here a few times over the years, and thought it is a decent place. Not too pricey, and depending on the bartender, it could make the time there enjoyable. Today, we went in and sat at the bar, but the bartender appeared to not want to be at her job. She kept going around a corner to use her phone, and was not attentive. I noticed if she knew a patron, she would make them a very acceptable drink, but if she did not know you, like us, it was not good. She just generally had a put out, bad manner, and set a negative vibe at the bar. We are a couple and no matter how good or bad the food is, if you engage us and act like you are happy to and see us there, you will collect a good tip. She did not and the food was really not good. Lousy coleslaw, soggy potato salad, and crumbling meat in the meatball sub. Sorry folks, never going to revisit. And make sure you have nice bartenders. They set the pace for your success. read more

It's hard to nail down a review for Laurino's Tavern. To start, our server, Natalie, was great. She was very well informed on the menu and had good recommendations. We loved their wine menu with all bottles under $30 - very affordable. They bring out a large roll of bread to start. It's good, but could be so much better if it was warmed or toasted. For entrees, I was craving chicken piccata, but wanted pasta and that dish came with rice and veggies, so I switched to chicken parm. My BF ordered the steak tips MR. We both loved his meal, the steak was a great cut and we loved the mix of flavors and the mashed potatoes were outstanding. My meal was ok, the chicken was a bit over breaded and the sauce was a little bland. We both commented on the size of the large meals, which were a great deal for the price. Beware, they are CASH ONLY. They do have a "service free" ATM, but I'm not sure if there is a service fee charged from your bank. One thing I noticed is that 2 or 3 servers had their hair down (below shoulder length), which didn't seem like a great idea since they are directly around the food.
