If there was a "Cape Cod Style" pizza (maybe there is, for all I know) Jack's would be a standout in that style. If that were so, one of the cheerleading food "presenters": Guy Fieri, Adam Richman, the Sterns et. al. would feature Jack's because the pizza is the bar pizza of your dreams. I've been visiting Hyannis for an extended stay, and I wish I'd known about Jack's earlier on. The pizza itself has a light, crispy, slightly burnt crust, which some will complain about, but others will pay dearly for at a pseudo "authentic" woodfired pizza ristorante (those places are never called pizzarias). The toppings are all fresh, (I had a ten inch "Jack's Special") although the cheese is on the heavy side, it's a good thing because it's in proportion to the sauce, and kudos to Jack's for not jacking up the sauce with sugar. Jack's Lounge-the lounge part-is a bar, and there are people drinking beer and other things, which adds to the vibe. Complain all you want about the slower "service," because there is only one waitperson, but be thankful for the great pizza and the unpretentious, unchanged environment. Wherever you live, how sad is it that this restaurant that you went to for twenty years or that bar that was there forever didn't survive the pandemic? There is a reason that Jack's did, and it's not because the owners necessarily have deep pockets. Go, before someone buys the place out and puts an Arby's there. read more

I love this pizza but would not recommend if you have food allergies. I've been eating this pizza every summer for over 30 years. My mother has food allergies and everytime we order from here and ask for no cheese on a salad or calzone they ignore the request and add cheese and we have to bring the food back and redo her order. Today my husband asked 3 times if the salad had no cheese. And three times he was told no cheese. But when he opened the salad there was cheese all over it. Wow! Been coming to Hyannis my entire life and somehow never been to Jacks. Local dive spot with a full bar and simple menu including pizzas, calzones, salads, burgers, apps, etc. The pizza was exactly what we were looking for, bar pizza, and it was amazing. Went here because I had a coupon. The setting is not glamorous or anything, it's pretty much a bar type atmosphere. The food was pretty good though. I tried a stuffed quahog which was very good. I also got a plain pizza which was pretty tasty as well. The pizza is a bit of a thicker crust but the trademark here is they put lots of cheese on the pizza, which I enjoy. Prices are pretty good. Not as good as it used to be. Their pizza crust is more bread-like than it used to be. A vintage Jacks pizza was a filling, amazing pizza with a chewy, almost pie-like crust. Theses days? Ohh Jack's ..... What happened to the place that my High School Newspaper voted the best pizza on Cape? I have tried several times in the past to over look the inconsistent food and service. She had two tables and you would have though the place was packed based on her behavior. ( a large party came in and left, two girls sat at a table and then after patiently waiting for a while the moved to the bar). After an hour of waiting the waitress came back to our table and claimed that the food ticket was "lost" but she ensured us she would reprint our order and get it out ASAP. Well this was a lie... she put in an order for 5 burgers and we ordered 3 and 2 subs.. then she apologized for the 100th time. ( she never put our order in because if she did all she would have to do is hit reprint or resend) I wanted to leave when she said she "lost the ticket" but my wife was being patient and setting an example for my children. Explaining that accidents happen and post COVID businesses are struggling to find help ( and having owned a restaurant in the past... Local place for homey, comfort foods. The specials are great and usually enough for two people. It's a no-frills atmosphere with great prices and mostly repeat customers. My girlfriend and I are trying to find the best burger on Cape Cod. We are using a Top 10 list compiled by Cape Cod Online. Jack's Lounge is on West Main, closer to Hyannis Port and Main Street, the cute part of Hyannis with restaurants and shops away from the Cape Cod Mall. When we arrived at Jack's on Friday night straight from Boston, we had to wait for a parking space. But when we walked in, there were seats available immediately. The bar was full of townies who driven by themselves to drink after work. Jack has only the very basic burgers. Instead, their menu bragged about being named Cape's best pizza. They even had a honey pizza that the waitress claimed was too sweet for her but many people loved. So we split one cheeseburger and one pepperoni pizza. The burger was average and inoffensive but the pizza made me want to switch our objective. It was cheesy but not to greasy with lots of pepperoni baked under the cheese and a sweet tomato sauce. The French fries, a required part of any burger order, were weak. I've had French fries before that are clearly frozen, but these were tasteless and a little burnt, like Oneida oven fries. My advice: come to Jack's, hang with the townies, and order pizza. read more

Definitely a local place. We went here after a show at the melody tent around 9:15pm. We arrived and there was only one waitress. She took our drink orders as she hurried around to other tables. She came to take our orders just after 9:30 and told us that the grill had just been shut off so 1/2 of the menu was now off the table. It would have been nice for her to tell us they were going to shut off the grill at a certain time just in case we wanted something like a hamburger. Anyway we orders the boneless buffalo wings...these weren't wings. They were pounded chicken tenders in their full shape. They were ok, nothing special but we were hungry. Maybe stick to the pizza. Cheap and decent bite to eat. 50/50 chance they'll forget to put one of the paid-for toppings, but when the two of you have been stuck in traffic in the heat for hours without eating all day, you don't really care if your buffalo chicken & pineapple is missing the pineapple. Don't ask for extra cheese, they put way too much. It turns to rubber by the time you're ready for round two. Salads leave a lot left to be desired, but we're on the cape sporadically so who knows. Went in for lunch last week, service was extremely slow. Waited over a half hour for our check. Could see the waitress in the kitchen talking on her phone the whole time. Decided to give them another chance today. Went in, sat down and waited for almost 30 minutes with no acknowledgement we were there. We sat for a half hour with no service. Bar was full of people, judging by their yells, clearly being over served at noon on a Sunday. We got up and left after waiting a half hour with no service. The absolute worst service and food I have ever had. Party of 5(3 adults and 2 kids), waited 45 minutes for ONE appetizer. We were trying to be understanding, maybe only one cook on? Nope, we saw multiple. Only two other tables and they both already had their food when we arrived. Then another almost 40 minutes for our food, which was beyond terrible. Tasteless subs and greasy undercooked food. We only stayed because we had been traveling for hours and were super hungry. Should not be considered a sit down restaurant as there was only one waitress and she couldn't get out of her own way and kept going outside for cigarette breaks.
