SOUTHWEST EMERGENCY VET CLINIC came up with EMERGENCY CARE HOURS M-F 5:00 pm until 8:00am & 24 hrs Sat. & Sun. (normal hours that a regular vet is closed). I grabbed my baby and rushed down to the clinic only to find a CLOSED SIGN on the door with a "SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE" noted at the top. Confused by the "CLOSED UNTIL SATURDAY 10/6 @ 5:00pm", since 10/6 is a Monday (not a Saturday), so what day and time are they really open??? I called the emergency # given at the bottom (since my puppy is still struggling to breathe), when the girl answered...I was told that there were NO VETS AVAILABLE therefore they are CLOSED and I could take my dog to the emergency clinic in LAS VEGAS (2 hrs away) or WAIT until the vet clinics open at 8 am in St. George (still 2 hrs until opening). If it's an EMERGENCY... you DON'T HAVE 2 hrs to WAIT!!!) THE girl that supposedly was a vet tech on the phone was VERY NON CARING about the situation. What good is an EMERGENCY VET HOSPITAL if they are NOT OPEN DURING EMERGENCY HOURS & it's an EMERGENCY???!!! JUST AWFUL BUSINESS PRACTICE!!!

As worried pet parents, it's incredibly stressful when something happens in the middle of the night, especially when you're away from home. The team at Yavapai Emergency Animal Hospital was wonderful. They were caring, compassionate, and took the time to evaluate our girl and make sure she was comfortable. Since we were only in the area temporarily, they provided pain medication to help keep her comfortable until we could get her back down to the Valley for follow-up care with our regular veterinarian. What really stood out to me was their follow-up and communication. They called the next day to check on her, and they promptly forwarded all of her records to both our regular veterinarian and the surgeon who will be performing her CCL surgery. Having that coordination already handled took a lot of stress off our shoulders during an already difficult time. I hope we never need emergency veterinary care again, but if we do while we're in the Prescott Valley area, I wouldn't hesitate to bring my pets here. Thank you for taking such good care of our pup during a stressful situation.

The staff does an incredible job caring for and watching over our dogs--they truly take pride in what they do. We've tried other doggie daycares in the past, and this one has been by far the best. Our pups are naturally very nervous and not big fans of people, but the team here has consistently gone above and beyond to build trust with them. Because of that patience and care, our dogs now look forward to their camp days, and we love being able to see them playing on the cameras. I feel completely comfortable recommending this place as a safe and caring environment for your pup. I know how difficult it can be to leave your babies in someone else's care, and this team truly puts our minds at ease. We genuinely enjoy this place and will continue to use their services.

I'm a bit iffy on this place. Why? So I have been to a few of the daycares around town. There's a…read moreparticular style of daycare that I don't find to be very stimulating for dogs and this place kind of fits that format. While it is convenient for me, when I watch the cameras, it looks like the dogs are just wandering around like zombies. Usually other daycares have more interaction with staff. There's maybe one staff member to like 15 or 20 dogs. The other thing is I'm not entirely sure they actually understand dog behavior. Because a lot of the dogs are restless and have zero structure, they don't have great socializing manners. My dog is an intelligent breed who will correct dogs who are rude or in his face and it gets tiring for him if he's doing that more than the staff. So when they told me that they had put him away because he was air nipping at dogs, that was strange. I've never had a report of him having behavior issues. Now if they had told me he seemed tired and needed to be to decompressed, that's fine. Maybe it was the staff's wording. And why she needed to report it to me I don't know because that's just a normal part of daycare and dog behavior. So after reading the reviews I did see instances in which dogs that are being aggressive to begin with or annoying aren't being corrected and then when the dog goes to correct them, which is dog etiquette, the dog who asserts boundaries to protect themselves gets punished? That to me shows a lack of understanding about dog behavior. I've watched the webcams at other daycares, and staff know how to separate dogs or to keep things from escalating and know when it's appropriate to put a dog away in a crate for a little time without making the dog feel bad or without making the owner think there's some big issue. I'm trying to gauge whether he actually likes going here. He comes home tired but not looking happy. And whenever we go there in the morning, he tends to whine, which he doesn't do at the other locations we've been. So this one will probably start getting rotated out of his daycare choices for the week. But on the positive side, I do like that they have a little events for the dogs or special treats and get your permission. I just don't feel very confident that it's anything more than just like a room full of dogs all walking around in circles. Like at least interact with them a little bit? Maybe add another counselor or two per group? Make me feel like everybody is taking classes about dog behavior and understand different dog breeds and how dogs are meant to interact? Also the webcam never seems to work very well. I'll watch on the phone or don't even try to watch on the laptop and it goes in and out but at least they have a webcam because barx parx doesn't. And there may be people and dogs who love this place or love the locations in other parts of Las Vegas but for intelligent breeds, I just don't think this place is very stimulating or matches well with his needs. Maybe this is just what happens when you take a bunch of dogs regardless of personality and throw them in together. Dogs have different play styles and some dogs are annoying to other dogs. But here, it just feels like a major free-for-all. The staff are mostly friendly, but maybe also communicating different things to the dog owners in a different way would have probably avoided me feeling less confident about this place because now I'm worried about who my dog is with during the day. If you don't know dogs, that's kind of concerning.... And I'm not seeing anything in my experience or my dog's reactions or through the webcam that makes me feel confident... And with that many dogs per one counselor, I can see where it would be easy for a dog to get hurt.

If you want to be ripped off on his prices which are outrageous and get the poorest quality care for your pet then this is your guy! His tech hurt my dog and now my dog is terrified and won't go back because of his fear of them. He's a special needs dog who was an abused dog before I got him and he has major anxiety and trust issues. I called them out on it (hurting my dog) and they suggested I drug my dog up next time before bringing him in. They suggested I drug my dog up before coming in so they can cut his nails?! When I mentioned this to Ryan Bowler that his tech hurt my dog he just shrugged it off and suggested because it didn't bleed that he wasn't hurt. I about lost it. When I told him I was taking my dog to someone else he just dismissed it like he couldn't care less. No apologies, offers, consolations or considerations to keep us he just dismissed us like we were nothing to him. He literally couldn't care less. I've been bringing Harly in for a couple years and then they did this like it was just business as usual so I told him I was done with his horrible practice. I've had issues with him before over the $70 exam fee that he spent doing for less than two minutes to tell me yep he's okay all for $70. I'm telling you these people will hurt your dog and then act like it was yours or the dog's fault!
