This was by far one of the best experiences I have ever had in my entire life. I saw the kitten i was interested in online and fell in love with her. I went and picked her up, payed $100 for the adoption which included her spay, vaccines and they kindly supplied me with food for a few weeks. The gentleman with with black hair and glasses, he's wonderful. Im so upset I can't remember his name but he is very kind and knowledgeable on all the kittens inside. Lulu is very nice as well. I've seen multiple comments where people are bashing her attitude and saying things that just aren't true. I have met with and dealt with lulu on multiple occasions now and although she is very to the point and direct, she is far from rude. Her job is to adopt out helpless animals to good homes. If you get denied it isn't her fault. Dont try to adopt a puppy for your 90 year old grandma... it's just not a good fit you know? And if you just became an adult yesterday... yeah I wouldn't trust you with $5 bill let alone something with a heartbeat. Lulu is very considerate and loves the animals inside. She is direct and is a no nonsense type of person. If that isn't something you can respect, especially in this industry, then adopting anything EVER isnt really in your cards. My kitten was struggling and when I called up PAWS just to ask a simple question, Lulu helped me in making sure my kitten was taken care of, and for the coming weeks. This was absolutely without a doubt the best adoption experience I have ever had. Ill recommend this time and time again. GREAT people. GREAT atmosphere. read more

My wife and I recommend rescuing a dog or cat versus buying from a pet store. We have rescued two dogs from Paws over the last six years and love our fur babies. The volunteers at Paws are amazing, but unfortunately it's time for the management to step down as she the manager Lulu is very unpleasant to work with and very difficult to work with. I've spoken to many of my neighbours who feel the same especially about cats they are trying to rescue. I know she's been there a long time it's time for her to step down and a change and fresh set of eyes to run this charitable foundation is much needed. Anyone making donations might want to think once or twice as there are lots of pet organisations to donate to. read more

I started doing volunteer work at PAWS about two months ago. We had just lost our dog and I needed to be with dogs and dog lovers. It is such a wonderful experiencing to help PAWS. I also found two little girls to adopt, which we love so much. I would recommend PAWS. They have a building for cats and a building for dogs. read more

me and my friend went in to look at kittens because I have Been interested in adopting and have been going to multiple different shelters to look. But when we first walked in an older lady with short white hair was very rude to us. immediately when we walked in she asked if the sign said open and just seemed supper irritated to even see us. we came during hours and even checked online so that already was weird. then she said in a really rude tone how old we were and we both said 18 and then she said well you can't adopt from here I'm a very rude way. then we had to explain that we were just here to look and I would probably come back with my mom or other parent when I want to adopt. Then she just acted even more irritated that we even wanted to look and didn't even want to show us the cats. she was very disrespectful and didn't make us feel welcome. which is very strange to me because this is an adoption center. the other girl was very nice and showed us the kittens. but the girl that seemed to be running the place was very disrespectful and there was no reason for her to treat us like that. we will not be coming back. read more

We adopted Ozzy, a 7 year old poodle/schnauzer mix, in August. As we were headed on a fairly long road trip, we asked if we could leave him at the shelter for the time we were gone and bring him home later rather than dragging him across the country (maybe not the best introduction to our family). They graciously allowed him to hang around until we returned, which I am sure was the best for all involved. He is a joy and a delight! I was so impressed with the people and the shelter facility. After reading the 'bad' reviews, I can only deduce that some people are quite self important....and not appreciative of the time and energy the volunteers spend keeping the shelter operating. read more

They should just close their doors and go home! Found the perfect companion kitten on their website for our new kitten at home. We like adopting black cats. We drove over half an hour to get there after filling out their horrible online questionaire. They take us to see our 6 month old kitten and it turns out to be a 2 year old black cat. They tell us oh, we have 2 cats with the same name. Then tell us if we'll take both they'll give us a 2 for 1. Heck, I would have taken all the black cats if anybody there had half a brain in their head. They couldn't find the kitten we picked out online. Finally told us that kitten is gone. At this point I'm so frustrated I just said forget it and went home. Now I'm mad and feel horrible because I didn't take a cat home that needed a home but these people at PAWS are a bunch of idiots. Find an animal that needs a good home someplace else. read more

The best shelter ever. Everyone there is a volunteer and they volunteer their time to these animals in need. All supplies are also needing to be donated. I got my puppy from here and I couldn't be more grateful for these people. He had to get his eye removed and neutered and paws covered that while I was fostering him. They do home inspections to make sure all the animals go to a good home so that they aren't bounced around. My puppy found his forever home, he was saved thanks to paws. These guys are amazing. Paws is wonderful and I've had some positive experience with them. My daughter was able to adopt a wonderful dog named Cassie. She has been the best little dog for her as my daughter has Trumatic brain injury. Cassie is a rat terrier and has been the best companion ever. She gives my daughter all the love and support she could possibly ever want. I would recommend pause whenever you think about adopting your Pat because they care and make sure that their animals find the best suited owner for them and the best home. read more

OK I am sure but we are quite disappointed today. We were in St. George for a couple of hours and wanted to stop by and donate $500 in cash. When we called we were told that we called " out of hours" ( no hours was posted online or given on the phone ) . So...unfortunately we will be heading back out of state in a couple of hours and take the $500 with us. We had adopted a dog in 2017 and he is the love of our life. My wife and I have had dogs our whole live and can't believe that we were turned down from adopting a dog from paws. Today we found a dog that would fit into our family perfectly and were turned down because our cat was behind 1 month in her shots. They treated us like we were bad people. We own our home with a complete fenced yard and we have a dog door so the dog would have a choice if he or she would like to be in or out side. Our past dogs have had great lived and were always part of the family. So We were shocked that they turned us down. Instead of adopting, we will end up purchasing a dog. What a shame.. read more

I'm sure they're a great animal rescue, but it took a week to respond to our application, then we had a phone interview at which point I was informed we were approved for adoption of the kitten we had picked out. We live in Las Vegas, but they bring animals to Petsmart here, so it was arranged that they would send her down with the other animals destined for Vegas at the end of the following week. The day before we were to get the kitten, the "feline manager" called and informed me that she had changed her mind and we were rejected from adopting from their shelter because we have a dog door. The fact we have a dog door was provided on the application as well as discussed in detail on the phone interview, and was informed it would not be a problem. My children are heartbroken, since they were informed they were getting that specific kitten, had a name picked out for her, and had the house ready for her arrival. I can't protect them from disappointment in most situations, but this is something that could have easily been avoided had the shelter been up front with me from the beginning. I've never had any experience with any shelter like this before, and hopefully I can get the word out so no one else has to deal with this as well. read more
