I almost didn't try this place but stopped in one day with a friend. We ordered the appetizer combo plate and split an order of fries. The tabouli, falafel, hummus and stuffed grape leaves were amazing. I love dipping the fries in garlic paste. Even though we shared the appetizer plate we also had enough left overs for a carry out. Spent $26 dollars on 3 things via Uber eats from this place. I ordered a small Hummus, which had no flavor. My sandwich was super skinny with barely anything inside. The secret menu is the key. You have to know the three Ar menian passwords: 1. Manti (Little boats of dough and meat in a heavenly broth); 2. LaMajoun (Armenian 'pizza' with grounds meat and seasonings on thin dough); and 3. Sou Beoreg (cheese lasagna. Rana was our waitress. She is from Yerevan and was patient with our children and delightful. From the outside and the menu, you would think you are at another Coney Island. I've been here countless times. My go to: Small (pretty big) fattouch with grilled chicken breast (make sure to specify since it takes longer than chicken shawarma). The dressing is so amazing... I don't even know how to describe it. Not too salty, refreshing, acidic, herby, and very light for a lunch. The salads are fresh, you can tell they don't mass-prep their ingredients. The garlic so creamy and not overpowering (as some places have very strong garlic). I've also heard the baba ganouj is a must try. The owner is incredible, always sparking up a conversation and really engaging. She told me the secret to the baba is that she uses wood fire roasted eggplants. On weekends they make Manti and other delicious items known to the Armenian community. The atmosphere is more casual, the place is clean and there are two bathrooms. There are also TVs if you don't love the silence. Oh ALSO try their Walnut Cake it is incredible. read more

This place is somewhere you really, really, really need to go. On weekends, they often have Armenian specials that you cannot get anywhere in Detroit (except my family's house). The family that runs Farm Grill is so great and they do this type of food justice. This is the place I go to for comfort food. Anything you order at The Farmgrill is made with fresh ingredients. The dishes both from the Mediterranean and Armenian menus (my personal favorite!) are DELICIOUS. The service is outstanding, the cleanliness is in place, and most importantly, the owner makes you feel at home anytime you go there. She's there for a nice chit-chat and even for a piece of advice. I'll be returning soon, I might even go back after I'm done writing this review. The restaurant is pretty small, which makes it perfect. There are two large TVs to keep you entertained, and the seating is comfortable. There was a pretty large group there when I arrived so I expected there to be a short wait. At one point I thought the person who seated me had forgotten about me, but she appeared to be the only person there. She was super nice, and I wasn't in a hurry. The menu can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't already familiar with Middle Eastern food, there's a ton of items and combinations. I already knew what I wanted, but I checked out the other items. I ordered one of the lunch specials, Lamb Shawarma with rice and the soup of the day. My soup was sweet pea soup, I wasn't really excited about it...until I tasted it! OMG, flavorgasm!!! It was like split pea soup, but not gross. Even though it was an unseasonably warm 62 degrees in mid December, this was the perfect comfort food to warm me up. By the time I was half way done, I wanted my Snuggie and a pillow. I was almost full and figured I'd eat a few bites of my entre' and take the rest home. NOPE, it was so good I ate everything. After I overstuffed myself, I decided to give up on the rest of my errands for the day. I was ready for a nap. After paying for my meal, I complimented my server/cook on the meal (especially the soup). She prided herself on everything being homemade. I came here after trying to go to a place next door, which was closed. I didn't have a car, so my choices were limited (and I don't like Subway)... I am going to give it a good review and vow to come back because quite frankly, my nose is stuffy so everything tasted somewhat bland. I am sure that is not the case. I had the veggie combo with a side of garlic, the amount of food was appropriate for $10 - not a crazy amount, but about what I would expect. The owner was cheery and did a nice job of taking care of 3 tables (one of which was large), 3 carry outs and she was the only person that looked to be working (as in, she was the cook as well). Thanks be to Al P for reviewing this place. Farm Grill is a gem. On the weekends they feature homemade Armenian food. We had Su Boreg, Lahmacun, and Manti. Since Shakshuka in Dearborn Heights suddenly closed down, there is no where else in this area (and possibly all of Michigan) where you can get this stuff. Everything was delicious. None of it is listed on the menu, but it's well worth asking for. We also enjoyed a few things off the menu which is Arabic food. Highly recommended! read more

I would give The Farm Grill 3.5 stars if I could. I ordered carry out which was ready in 15 minutes. When I went to pick up our food the woman that rang me up was VERY friendly... which I always appreciate. We ordered chicken shawarmas, spinach pie and chicken ghallaba. The food was good but not the greatest shawarma I've had. I did find the the chicken was a little dry and over cooked which is the reason for the 3 stars. The taste was there but I do feel the shawarma and ghallaba should have had a little more meat in the wrap. Overall, quick and fast service and I would definitely give this restaurant a 2nd try. read more

Great to pick up and take home or for a down for a meal in the restaurant - it's cozy and clean, good for a group meal. Portions are huge and my personal favorites are the garlic butter (can't stop eating it once I start) and the manti, which is on the secret menu. I'm obsessed with the broth. The special was $10 and came with a drink. I have to admit I thought it was pricey for chicken schwarma special but not awful. I don't think I would go out of my way to go to this place but if you are at Big Lots and need to grab a bite you can feel confident you will get a good meal. This modest, yet ambitious eatery truly earns the description "mom and pop" establishment. We were cordially greeted by Mom, and our food was prepared and served by Pop. The menu featured a surprisingly large and varied assortment of Middle Eastern dishes, and included some rather unusual selections. For example: a section entitled "sautées," featuring your choice of beef, lamb or chicken, prepared as the name suggests. I had lamb with hummous, which had slivered almonds on top, and was served with a generous portion of rice pilaf. The meal was easily large enough to save and have leftovers for the next day. No shortage of food, and no shortage of flavor. The co-diner had the chicken sauté, which met with his approval as well. We'll be back - plenty more items to try. read more

I LOVE this place. The garlic dip is my favorite, it's heathy grilled food and I often pick it up on the way home from the gym so it's super convenient. Let start off with the good things. The ladies that run this place were very nice and accommodating. The place was clean and the hot food was fresh and hot. However, the pita was very dry and hard like it wasn't very fresh. Also the Veggie Ghallabah i paid $14 for didn't even come with garlic spread. My ghallabah (sp?) was a very small portion for the price but that gave me tons more rice. The dish lacked flavor. It was fresh and very hot but not tasty at all. Now the garlic yogurt, I'm calling it that because thats what it looked like. It was the runniest garlic I've ever seen and had abt half the garlic flavor I'm used to. This place is a no, never try again. I actually made i wasted my money on this. Its to many bad components to even try to enjoy. I've eaten babaganoush and shawarma hundreds of times but have never had them prepared this well. The smokey babaganoush was absolutely phenomenal and I was so glad I ordered the large. Instead of shearing the shawarma from the usual spit of meat, the chef cooked the thin lamb strips to perfection. Got my order wrong. I ordered a Greek Chicken fatoush salad for takeout but got a regular chicken fatoush instead. I realized it when I got home so when I called them back they said I could bring the wrong one back and they would give me a new one. I was okay with that and drove back out. I went back to the restaurant, dropped off the wrong order and got the new one. What do I see when I get home? Behold, Greek fatoush salad with no chicken. At this point I was like whatever, I am not driving back out but thought to call them just to let them know they messed up my order again. Once I got on the phone, I was told "hey you had the chicken in your previous order". Yep I did, the one you guys got wrong, the order that I dropped off. Honestly it would have been better if they just gave me some extra feta and the other ingredients so that I could add them to my "wrong" order. So lesson learned with this location, never again am I coming here. It's not about the damn chicken, it's about the customer service. read more
