I'm apart of a Facebook group that talks about places in queens to eat. I came here specifically for the burger. I got the Cassidy burger and I thought the burger wasn't seasoned properly. It was so bad I had to add salt and pepper to it. Also the Buffalo hot wings weren't hot at all. Also the sauce didn't cover the entire wings and the sauce lacked flavor. I thought the BBQ wings were much better. The regular fries here were soggy and the curly fries were crispy and much better because they were seasoned. Came by here on a Wednesday night for ill advised food choices. Still plenty of seating at the bar as I was able to order quickly. Menu is surprisingly extensive considering the looks of the bar from the outside. Decided on the small order of Wings ($11) to go along with a basket of Curly Fries ($8). In theory it would have been cheaper to get a sandwich or burger that comes with fries, but was really craving wings. Despite it being a "small" order, the wings are 8 to a batch, absolutely doused in buffalo sauce. Good amount of meat on each and not overcooked at all. Their menu is standard bar food: wings, burgers, fries, beer, but they also have items like steak and fish n chips. Decent selection of beer on tap available. I liked their Cassidy Burger. It was a good sized burger, with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles served on the side, as well as, a healthy serving of your choice of salad, regular fries or sweet potato fries. I can't say how many times I've walked straight passed this place in pursuit of cannelle patisserie, but it's A LOT. I originally thought it was solely a bar but was informed that they served food too, so at the recommendation of a friend decided to get some wings takeout. While I saw families, I can't say its family-friendly, though it is stroller accessible. The place could probably improve lighting as it's quite dim. Anyways, on to the food! Wings were a solid choice at the price point, the mild spicy doesn't really have any bite to it (definitely going full-spicy next time ;)). STEAK TIDBITS MEDIUM RARE. That's all I got to say. So freaking good. I have been here a numerous amount of times and must say that the bartender/servers ALWAYS have a nice/welcoming personality. The food is just overall amazing. The waitress was friendly. Mid day Sunday, relatively empty. The menu offers weekend brunch, but no brunch menu is offered. The waitress said you could "just name a brunch type thing like eggs with sausage in" as your order. The brunch cost remains a mystery. Also, she said they don't have "like half" the beers on the drinks menu when my husband named one he wanted to try...?? My onion soup was sweet in a bad way. I love French onion soup. I get snobby about it often times, I admit that. I don't know what onions or broth they use here, but it was sickly sweet. Also, the bread in French onion soup is meant to be under the broth so it sops it up; not under the melted cheese and DRY. The burger had mushrooms, so I didn't try it (allergic), but the curly fries were quite tasty. This was our frat visit and its likely to be my last. This place is the worst. The bartender was drunk. The manager was drunk. They had no idea what's going on. I ordered a Turkey Burger and they gave me Turkey sliders. Once I consulted them with this issue they asked me to leave because I want free food. FYI, I'm a software engineer who makes 110K a year. This was my first time trying this place and it was the worst experience I had in my life. The bartender was busy doing shots with some other folks and started mumbling when I was trying to talk to her. At the end they said I wanted free food and paid my 17 dollar bill when my bill should have been more because bartender charged me only for 1 beer LOL. I was willing to pay all my bill so jokes on them that they were so drunk they got the bill even wrong. I added a video to this as well on alot of social media and review sites on how the bartender was impatient and not willing to listen. Came here for karaoke night and had a good time! It's definitely one of those neighborhood bars that everyone knows about. It's a nice big size with lots of tv's, lots of tables and seating areas, and even a room in the back for darts and other games. When I arrived it was very crowded- almost all the tables were taken up with people eating dinner. I only ordered an appetizer later in the night which was pretty good. I'll have to go back another time specifically for dinner and not when I've had drinks and been singing karaoke lol It seems there are a lot of regulars here too- which shows how the bar has a strong following from the locals. The service was good too- considering I saw two servers walking around- but I never had to wait for him to come over- he constantly checked on us which was great. First time here, tried it based on the reviews here. Ordered the chicken with bourbon sauce, baked potato and spinach. Potato was average, nothing special. It came with sour cream but no butter. Never had it not have butter before. The chicken was good, not great. Reminded me more of chicken Marsala than with bourbon. Plenty of mushrooms which was good. Being a heavily residential area with a family oriented and culturally diverse demographic, good bars and hang outs are scarce. You have to make the walk or drive to Astoria for a lot of the fun spots. Cassidy's isn't exactly the type of place you take your friends from out of town to show them a good time either. It's your average, 40-55 yr old crowd with a clean, wood/rustic feel bar and a few televisions. However, if you are in the mood for some exceptional bar food with a few friends, then absolutely feel free to stop by! The staff is always extremely friendly and accommodating, too. You'll feel cozy and welcome here. As far as bar wings go, you'll be highly satisfied with Cassidy's batch. The cook on the wing is a strong average, slightly on the chewy side, but with that crispy skin. If you're really bold, ask for them well-done or extra crispy! The sauce is the real selling point with these. I will usually indulge in the medium or BBQ. But the range of buffalo sauces (especially medium) have that sweet AND spicy flavor where you're almost tasting buffalo mixed with a hint of BBQ. The flavor does leave you wanting more I will say, and needing a few extra napkins. I have not yet ventured to try the "Nuclear" flavor. Now, Cassidy's is not a wing place. The place itself is a nice little bar with plenty of seating.
